FREEDOM!

Hi Everyone! Today is day 23 in the 31 Day Challenge and that means movie day!  It was really a toss up for me about which of my fave movies I would do I chose between two so let's see which one won!

I hope you can tell this is from the movie Braveheart.  I love that movie and find myself watching it time and time again!  Let me share a story with you though, Readers.  When it first came out, my little sister, Lynelle, and I went to see it.  As we were getting our sodas I started grabbing up tons of napkins because I knew I was going to cry and she wasn't getting any so I said to her, "Aren't you going to get napkins in case you cry?"  She said, "No I'm sure I won't cry."  There was an usher across the room from us and he beehived it over to her so fast and said, "Oh you WILL cry--men have left here crying."  Lucky for her she listened to him because we were actually pretty inconsolable in this movie.

She didn't know the story of William Wallace but I did so I knew what happened to him.  And just before his torture and execution scene I said to her, do you just want to leave now--but we didn't.  We stayed til the bitter end and it was just a flat out bawlfest between us.

Here is, of course, the best quote from the entire movie

"You have come to fight as free men, and free men you are.  What will you do with that freedom?  Will you fight? Aye, fight and you may die, run and you'll live.  At least a while.  And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our FREEDOM!

Holy cow I just got all choked up typing the quote!  Good thing football's on today so I don't try to watch Braveheart for the 80 bazillionith time and bawl my eyes out!

What's up for tomorrow?  Am I crying again?
Yay a book!  No crying okay well maybe because I read mostly romances and sometimes I do cry lol!

I hope you all have a great day and to my Scottish followers ALBA GU BRÀTH!

  2. Braveheart is one of my favourite movies too. I've watched it a few times. I had it on video cassette and then upgraded to a DVD when I had one of those. I can't say I have watched it 80 bazillion times though. ;)
