Cheap but definitely not tawdry!

Hi Everyone!  I didn't have much time for nail art but you know how I am and wearing "plain" nails is so hard for me.  So I did the one thing I knew I could wear without not having anything stamped on it--a suede finish!  I cannot express how much I just love these new Pure Ice Velvets.  OMG they are so fantastic.  I look at them and think "how can something this gorgeous cost $2"  And really I want to know how something so gorgeous costs only $2???!!  Are you listening Dior, Channel, Butter London and Illamasqua?????  Pure Ice is only 2 ding dang bucks!

I think suedes or mattes are the only polish I can wear plain with no stamping over them and be totally okay with it!  Here I have on Pure Ice Blue Midnight with an accent of Sonoma Nail Art 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea as an accent

How can something this gorgeous only cost $2??????

It's so decadent and rich and just flat out gorgeous!

20,000 Leagues is one of my fave polishes from Sonoma Nail Art too--ha who am I kidding I love ALL of Michelle's polishes!!

I think I might love suedes more than crackle! Shhhhhh don't tell crackle!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Hearts n Glitter!

Morning Everyone!! Happy Saturday!  I was mia yesterday because I spent some time with my mom who had to have some day surgery.  My poor mom is one of those people with kidney stones.  She had to have them "blasted" to break them up.  This is the 4th time she's had to have this done in her life.  I finally asked her this last time, "mom why does this always happen to you?" and she said, "you are either a person who makes stones or you aren't"  Geeze I guess I'm glad I'm a non stone maker!

She is doing great though, not too much bruising and just a little discomfort.  I'm going to go over there today and hang out with her and watch some movies and eat some ice cream!  The woman is an ice cream hoarder I swear! She has Dove bars in there from this summer that haven't been eaten lol!

Today I have Pink Clockwork on over black!  Oooooh it's SO hot over black!  I used Revlon Black Pearl because I love that's it's a soft black and not a hard one.  I added some cute Pure Ice Crackle hearts to it as well.
I don't even feel bad for wearing hearts in March because these crackle hearts are so cool!
I think Pink Clockwork is awesome over black!
Glitters this cool are always worth the removal lol!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

A Clockwork . . . PINK!

Hi Everyone!!! First off let me start by saying I have survived Winter Storm Nemo.  We got a TON of snow though!!!  The roads are pretty clear this morning for me to get into work and we all got to leave a little early yesterday to get home.  It snowed ALL DAY yesterday!  Instead of having the typical meal of french toast for when you're snowed in--yes french toast as everyone goes out and buys milk, eggs and bread during a blizzard or possible snow in--we had a delicious meal of garlic and wine marinated chicken, cheesy broccoli rice and some peas.  I think that's the way to go from now on LOL!

Yesterday when I finally made it home I had the neatest surprise waiting for me!  My fab friend Michelle of Sonoma Nail Art made a pink Clockwork!  OMG yes she did!  A while ago I was talking to her about making a polish with different pinks and such for breast cancer but she was already working on her Scooters For Hooters.  Little did I know she remembered our conversation and took it to heart.  I got a note from her saying she made Pink Clockwork AND she sent a bottle to me!  And naturally I LOVE IT!  Clockwork is one of my favorite of all time polishes so this Pink Clockwork is like icing on the Clockwork cake lol!

I did a gradient with some Zoya's--Shelby, Lara and Reagan and then did just one layer of Pink Clockwork over it.  I whipped on an accent nail of Ninja Lisa, Paula and BL Chancer--which turned out fabulous and will be getting the full spotlight next week for a VDay mani.

Pink Clockwork is full of multi size different color of pink hexes and large silver hexes and silver bar glitter!
After I put this on I thought about how hot it would look over black so that's happening this weekend!
And here's the note from Michelle! OMG I just love her!
Sonoma Nail Art is having a sale today featuring Pink Clockwork at 1pm Eastern!  If you haven't bought from her you NEED too!  Her stuff is awesome!  I'm really hoping to pick up Tallulah today!  Here's the link to her ETSY shop
I hope some of you are able to pick up Pink Clockwork.

Well I'm off to shovel out my car!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Day 31 Recreate A Mani From The Challenge

Hi Goddesses!!!  Today is the last day of the Crumpet's Nail Tarts 31 Day Challenge.  Today is all about recreating a mani you've seen in the challenge. The INSTANT I saw Debbie post her blue dragon I was not only in love, I knew I HAD to do this!  Debbie over at The Crumpet blew me away with her blue dragon mani AND she did a fab job on stamping which we all know I love.  I wanted to recreate her look so I decided to see her blue dragon and raise her a red dragon!
I think this turned out MAHVELOUS!
If only there was such a thing as a red dragon!
And this mani even looks great in the shade!
Here's a blurryish pic to see all the glittah goodness
This mani was a labor of love.  I started with Butter London Chancer, topped it with Sonoma Nail Art Deadly Sins and then I topped that with Fergie Tonight's Gonna Be A Good Night.  I stamped using BM and Mash plates and voila!  A Red Dragon is born!!!
Here's Debbie's Blue Dragon to compare it to!
Man I still love this mani by her SO much!!!!!  In case you missed it you can see her full post HERE

Well that's it!! The end of the road for this 31 day challenge!!! I loved every minute of it!  I hope I can come up some ideas on my own now without being told what to do lol!!!

Check out the what my fellow Tart's recreated!

Day 5--Purplicious!

Hi Everyone!! HAPPY SATURDAY!   Omg this is going to be an awesome Saturday.  First of all, I'm off! Woot!!! No working today! SAH Weet!!!  Second of all it's Packer football tonight!  Packers vs the Vikings in the playoff, to prepare for this fantastic game we are having bbq pork ribs, baked beans, potato salad AND a Frozen Tundra Kringle from O & H Danish Bakery! WOOT!  The Frozen Tundra kringle is a danish pastry filled with cream cheese and chocolate chunks and it's decorated with green and gold jimmies over the icing.  OMG I had to hold back my son from getting into it last night lol!

I plan on lazing around, probably doing some laundry and much needed cleaning such as scrubbing the bathroom floor as well as kitchen floor and reading some hot New Species books by Laurann Dohner.

I'll also be admiring my purple nails for Day 5!!  I started off with a lovely gradient of Zoya Caitlin and Petra--would you believe I've had both about a year and this is the first time I used them?  I topped off this lovely gradient with the fabulous Halloween In The Vines by Sonoma Nail Art
I stamped over it (of course) and this is what I came up with!
I just love it!  This is one of my favorite stamping images because you can still see the lovely gradient and glitter from underneath it!
Ahh thank you BM313!
Looks like Zoya and Sonoma Nail Art make my nails look like a zillion bucks!

Can I top this tomorrow?  Let's see what's up next
Hmmmm your favorite color family--this might be quite challenging for me!

Let's see what everyone else has come up with for Purple!!!

Eyez A Zombie!

Hi Everyone!  I don't know how old you all are but I'm pretty dang old!  I remember Creature Feature on Saturday nights when I was kid--it was on channel 18.  My sister Lisa and I used to watch all the movies they played and holy cow I was scared so many times it was not funny!  There were movies about monsters, werewolves, vampires and of course zombies.  Today's theme in the Crumpet Nail Tarts Halloween Challenge is zombies.  OMG this was SO FREAKING HARD TO DO!   I love my gurls in Crumpet's but whoever thought up zombies needs to get smacked LOL!

When it comes to freehand we all know it is not my cup o tea.  But I managed to freehand a little zombie

The coolest thing about this mani is the Zoya Evvie and Ray gradient with Sonoma Nail Art Here Lies Robert over it.

Speaking of zombies do any of you watch The Walking Dead?  I can not believe how much I love that show!  I can't wait for the new season to start!

I wonder how many cool zombie nails we'll see today from my cohorts?!

Laurie, Lisa and Michelle?????!!!

Hi Readers!  Happy Monday!  It's another week of overtime for me so 10 1/2 hour days loom ahead of me.  I think my nails today are going to keep me alert and apt though!  I've probably mentioned it before but I have 2 sisters, one is here with me on Earth and one is in Heaven.  My whole life growing up there was a lot of Laurie! Lisa! Lynelle!  Sometimes mom just called us laurielisalynelle because she didn't know who she was scolding LOL! I'm the oldest, then came Lisa, then Lynelle.  Lynelle and I had to say goodbye to our sweet Lisa three years ago and it's hard for us now to be known as just Laurie and Lynelle, but we go on because--well because we have too.  I decided to do a gradient with the two Zoya's I have with my name--Laurie and one of my sister's names--Lisa.  I've suggested Zoya use Lynelle a zillion times but so far no good. Recently I snagged 3 of Sonoma Nail Art's Halloween Polishes, Here Lies Robert, Sincerest Pumpkin Patch, and Deadly Zins. I happen to know the creator of Sonoma Nail Art's name is Michelle which is darn close to Lynelle so I topped my Laurie and Lisa gradient with Michelle's Deadly Zins!  And how fitting it is to go with day 17 in the 31 Day Challenge which is glitter!

First up just a pic of my Laurie and Lisa gradient.
It's lovely!  What cracks me up though is how the total opposite of our personalities the colors are.  Zoya Laurie is a super pale pink while Lisa is a shiny micro glitter red.  Lisa was neither bold or outrageous--which red usually signifies.  And I'm DEFINITELY not a pastel pink type of gal LOL!  Still they are beautiful and look great together just like Lisa and I did!

I topped this lovely gradient with a couple coats of Michelle's Deadly Zins AND stamped on it!

Don't you just love the bottle label???? OMG it's to die for!  Deadly Zins is a mix of red glitters in various sizes along with some tiny black  and fuschia glitter!  Really lovely!!!

I love it when I can stamp over glitters!  They just look so cool that way!

I also love who subtle the gradient looks topped with Deadly Zins--just really spectacular!

I'm super elated with this one and really didn't know if I could pull off a successful glitter!  So let's see what's up for tomorrow shall we?

Half Moons! Oooh I have a great idea for this one!

Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope you all have a great day!

Menage anyone?!?!?!!

Hi Readers!  Omg I have been SO tired lately and haven't had anytime to come from work and do nothing.  I've barely had time to come up with a decent mani AND I haven't been able to read.  Right now I'm reading Cherry Adair's  entire T-Flac series.  I honestly don't know why I didn't read them all right as they came out--these books are fantastic!  Suspense and hot romance what more can you want????

Well what I want is some time to get my nails done and read my books AND snuggle with Roscoe!  Tonight I set the goal for myself to be in bed at 8:30pm so I could spend 2 hours reading a book, snuggling Roscoe and playing with the chinchillas lol!  I didn't make my deadline Readers as I'm posting this at 8:54 BUT I'm only  behind 30 minutes!

I needed something cool and quick.  What better time to haul out the crackle??!!!!  I was going to do a black, gold and red mani and use Butter London Knees Up again instead I decided just on black and gold BUT sitting next to me on my little table were Sashay My Way and Clockwork--basically because I was too lazy to put them away from when I used them earlier this month!  How fortunate for me!  And let this be a lesson to you that being neat isn't always good!

I started with a couple coats of China Glaze It's My Turn--my favorite gold polish EVAH, then OPI Black Shatter then I topped it with both Orly Sashay My Way and Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork! BAM instant nail art in a hurry!

I'm definitely going to wear my cage ring with this mani tomorrow!!!

No stamping necessary--sometimes you gotta love that lol!

I wonder if anyone would think I'm wacko if I tried to marry Clockwork?  I think we make a good couple!

Okay now I'm only an hour off schedule!  And who am I kidding when I say I'll read for 2 hours???!! Lately I can't even make it an hour before the reader is smacking me in the face as I doze off lol!

I am getting home early tomorrow with nothing to do and I have something special in mind for the Summer Challenge on Friday--so here's hoping it will turn out!

I love this kind of menage--it's easy, safe, AND no jealousy going on here as they are all beautiful in their own way!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Just Like Clockwork!

Hi Readers!  It's not everyday--okay really it's NEVER any day where I don't stamp.  Today there is no stamping.  None needed either because this mani is so gorgeous and it just blew me away.

I did a gradient using Orly's Buried Alive and then Misa Golden Thread and topped it with the most gorgeous and glorious Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork

I asked my coworker the fabulous Lizzard, if she could snap a pic of both hands. She is an EXCELLENT camera man!

It was actually hard to work as I was so busy looking at my gorgeous nails!

I consider myself super lucky to be friends with Michelle who is the talent behind Sonoma Nail Art.  She's the total package Readers--pretty, funny, mega creative and talented, and really super sweet!

Do you have any Sonoma Nail Art polishes??? Which one is your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Summer Challenge--Buttercups!

Hi Readers!  I did this mani a week ago!  I had to wait to post it though BECAUSE I inadvertently nailed the Buttercup theme for the Summer Challenge!  I wanted to wear something bright and summery to my niece's graduation from high school so I decided a lovely gradient of Zoya Pippa and Zoya Tracie and then I really wanted to haul out my lovely, lovely, LOVELY Mustard Fields by Sonoma Nail Art.  The results were stunning!

Here's the gradient before the Mustard Fields topper
Look at how seamless that gradient is!
I loved this lemon lime look!

But here's the real beauty!  The gradient topped with Mustard Field's!!
GLURG!!!!!
See the little flowers in Mustard Fields?????! Instant buttercups!
I could not stop staring at this mani! AND I got tons of compliments on it at the picnic party!
And hello!!! Remember this ring I made when I received the first bottle ever made in the entire universe of it???!!!!!!

Luh-Uh-Uh-shus!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

QUEEN OF THE WORLD!

Hi Readers!  Today I'm showing you a polish that no one else but me owns IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!  My super fab and fun friend Michelle from Sonoma Nail Art has been working on making up some polishes all based on Sonoma County. Her polishes are incredible imo.  I will admit I'm not huge into the indie bandwagon there are only a few I like--my faves are definitely Amy's Voodoo Doll and Chelsea's Jawbreaker but then this gem came into my life and if I could marry it I would.  Technically I think I could marry it because I've heard of weird a$$ stuff like this happening before lol! Awhile ago Michelle was able to almost complete her Revlon Fizz collection but she was missing Grape Fizz.  I had one I was definitely willing to part with especially for her.  Now don't tell her this readers but I was just going to send it to her but she came back with how about swapping for one of my polishes?!  HOLY SHIZZ I about hit the floor because I've been lucky enough she was sharing pics of her creations with me.  So I casually said sure but let me make you a ring too.  Michelle (dumb as a box of rocks on this one readers) swapped me her Mustard Fields for a Toxic Seaweed ring and Grape Fizz.
When I got the bottle in the mail from her she made me a cute a$$ certificate to go along with it! OMG check it out readers!
BTW I see nothing wrong with being a "cheesehead" Go Pack, Go!
She sent me this ADORABLE temp tattoo that says Taste My Muffin and told me to place it "accordingly" LOLOLOLOLOL
I will not lie readers this polish is so gorgeous!  It has large yellow daisy glitter in it along with greenish gold bar glitters, light and dark green square g glitters and a mix of various greens and gold small hexes.  It really IS a mustard field!

What I really love about Michelle's polishes is the fact she's looked around at her surroundings and her life and created a line of polishes to match them.  I simply love that idea!  She, like many, in the indie polish business right now are having issues getting base for their creations.  Seems the indie polish creating bug has bitten many and some were lucky enough to get base while others were not.  I do know as soon as she is able she will be selling her gorgeous creations through etsy.
But enough of all of that! I'm sure you want to see the beauty of this polish!  I started off by making a ring with it!
That was last night which is why you don't see a matching mani lol!  I used China Glaze Trendsetter as the underwear for it and fell in love.  FELL.IN.LOVE!  Today I decided to do a matching mani for my ring and I am seriously over the moon with it!
And another bottle shot!
And a collage of the beauty of Mustard Fields
Right now I'm the only one in the world--the whole universe even to have this polish therefore I am lording it over everyone!!!  I won't be for long though readers.  Tonight at 8pm central time Michelle is having a small and by small I mean small sale.  She has 50 polishes done and is selling them for $10 a bottle plus shipping via her etsy store Sonoma Nail Art.  I'm not sure what polishes of hers she's going to have up for sale Mustard Fields may not be one of them.  Please make sure you visit Michelle's blog today to see what polishes she is selling.  I know it's going to be a mad dash to try to get one of 50 but I also know as soon as she has base she's going to be up and running to meet the supply and demand.  Her blog is Sonoma Nail Art.

WOW! I cannot believe how wordy I was today readers!  I guess I am just so in love with this polish--and honestly Michelle, who is also an AHmazing artist, I couldn't stop talking.

What do you think of this one readers?  Are you "into" indie polishes?  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!  If you're trying to get one of Michelle's polishes tonight Good Luck!
