When Push Comes to Shove

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Hump Day!  I finally did my taxes last night.  I really don't know why I just don't file right away but I never do.  And of course I'm getting a nice little return so you'd think I'd be doing this immediately but again I never do.  I guess once a procrastinator always a procrastinator!

So I bought OPI's Push And Shove basically just because.  I thought okay another silver polish but it might work good for stamping so I'll give it a shot.  Ummmmm this polish is so much more than "just another silver polish"  IT IS AMAZEBALLS!  It's the most glorious silver polish I've ever laid eyes on!  I can not believe how it dried to the ultimate chrome finish!

I took some shots of it out in the sun the other day and nearly died!
No top coat as instructed!
People think driving while wearing holos is bad--this was worse! OMG I could not stop staring at it!

When I got home I decided to stamp over it and naturally it looks fab!
No sun by the time I got home and stamped but look at it!!!

                              Look        At       It !!!!!!!!!!
AHmazeballs!!!!

I sure hope OPI plans on doing many more of these chrome polishes in every color imaginable because I will be buying them!!!!!

These are a few of my favorite things

Hi Everyone!! Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I had another meet and greet with someone I'd met through a facebook group on Saturday and we had a blast!  Actually we first met here on my blog!  I mentioned living in Racine and she is a blog follower as well.  She contacted me via email and we started chatted.  I told her about the Adventures In Stamping group on Facebook and she fell in love with stamping and the next thing you know we were hanging out ALL DAY AND NIGHT on Saturday stamping our hearts out!

She asked me what my favorite thing to do with nails was and I told her gradienting then topping with glitter and then of course stamping.  I do believe gradients are by far my favorite thing to do.  And even though so many people say to me "I can't believe you're going to stamp over that" I think stamping over a gradient gives it so much more depth.  I also think topping a gradient with glitter adds depth.  When you do all three things together, gradient, glitter stamp it's like the trifecta of fabulous!

Here is a gradient I topped with one of my favorite glitters.  The gradient is Sinful colors Candy Coated with Nails Inc Clifford Street, the glitter is the gorgey town Doctor Donna from Red Dog Designs
I just think adding glitter over a gradient adds so much more
And here is the lovely Doctor Donna!
I just love everything about this mani!

But then I stamped over it and loved it even more!
I stamped with a design from the 2nd CiCi and SiSi set
I really love this look.  And the great thing about stamping over a glitter topped gradient is this is a great way to extend your mani.  Day one you can gradient, day two add the glitter topped and day 3 stamp over it!  Now you all know me so you know I rarely wear something for more than a day but this is a great way to get more wear out of your polish!

Word on the street is Red Dog has some great St Patrick's Day and Mardi Gras polishes releasing soon. As soon as I'm the know, you'll be in the know!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Anxiously Awaiting Spring!

Hi Everyone!  I bought another Dior the other day and decided it to pair it with one of my Elevation's.  Despite the fact there is still tons of snow around here and it's still cold I guess I am just SO over this Winter weather and really waiting for Spring.

Normally I don't feel that way because I am no a pastel person at all.  I don't really care for pastel nail polish or make up and of course Spring is fraught with those colors, but I think I found a nice little fix for that.

Here's is the super lovely Dior Graphic Berry with Elevation Polish Plumeria
Plumeria is a lovely glitter topper with various colors of matte ball glitter but has the most lovely blue micro shimmer in it
I definitely see me using Plumeria on top of all sorts of pretty Spring and Summer colors--even pastels!
I'm really a fan of ball glitter but I just love this little blue micro shimmer!
The weather is definitely warming up around here and today we're supposed to be getting rain but this time of year you never know if that's a good thing or a bad thing LOL!

How do you all feel?  Are you totally over Winter and ready for Spring?  Are you a pastel lover or hater like me?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Bring on the Bling!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!  I know you'll be shocked to hear this but we are getting MOAR snow today.  Yep more freaking snow.  We'll have to see how bad it ends up being.  They are calling for 2-4 inches in our area.  So are we have not gotten more snow than they've predicted, we've always gotten less.  Let's hope today is not the day to change that.  I need to make trips to the feed store, grocery store and post office today--OIY!

I'm in a small facebook group with some girls who love nail polish and animals and who just have a pretty fun time chatting.  We pick a different color to wear each week and last week the the color was gold.  This is the mani I did for our gold color last week!

I started with a base of OPI LoveAngelMusicBaby and then topped it with my franken Ragnelle.  I stamped using FUN 6 plate

I love this image from FUN 6.  It sort of reminds me of a dried up dirt road.  Siince I'm older than dirt now I decided my road should have some bling!!

Hope you all had a great weekend.  If you're in the storms path YET AGAIN please stay safe!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Digital-Dozen Does Vintage--Past & Present!

Hi Everyone!!  Whew!  I am trying to get caught up with my posts here.  I'd like to say better late than never but honestly I feel really awful I didn't get my post up on time!

So today I have an easy mani that led to something bigger.  I should a picture of this to my friend Emily to see which way it looked more like vintage wallpaper. Not only did she tell me the matte version was the best but she also told me it looked like the wallpaper from the tv show Sherlock.  I don't watch the show and found it was her fave.  There seems to be a ton of fan fare all over Benedict Cumberbatch, albeit I think people just like saying his name, so I decided today I was going to sit back, relax (after working 8 hours of course) and watch the first 2 seasons!

So for those of you who watch the show, what do you think?  Does my wallpaper mani look like the pad at 221b???
I'll have to get back to you all and let you know if I like the show or not.  It took me awhile to get on the Doctor Who bandwagon so we'll see.

Let's go see what everyone else did for their last day of the week!

Digit-al Dozen Does Vintage--Calico!

Hi Everyone!  I'm trying to get caught up here!  I guess my busy life is finally catching up to me!!

Tonight I'm sharing a print that reminds me of my grandma and my great-grandma.  My great-grandma was an excellent seamstress and she sewed alot of dresses for me growing up.  She and my grandma would take me with them to the fabric store and sometimes they let me pick what I liked best.  When we were younger the 3 of us girls and mom included often had matching outfits to wear!  The reality of that is both awesome and horrifying--trust me!

When I think of calico print I think of Laura Ingalls Wilder and times from Little House On The Prairie.  I think of white bonnets and open fields.  But I also think of the sweet Great-Grandma Grove hunched over her ancient Singer sewing machine making something for us girls so that my parents didn't have to spend a fortune on dresses.

Tiny little white flowers with pink centers over a base of Revlon Royal and Darling Diva Denim Mittens and I'm transported back in time!

I haven't even had time to check out what everyone else has done the past couple of days so make sure you stop over with me to see what's up!

Digit-al Dozen Does Vintage--60's!

Hi Everyone!  51 years ago today the best thing in the world happened to me--I was born into a loving family!  Yep 51 years ago I was born to Alan and Sandra Lutze.  I was the first child and first granddaughter on my dad's side.  I was spoiled rotten by my parents and my grandparents.  I grew up in a wonderfully loving family with parents who loved each other as much as they loved me.  They gave me two wonderful sisters to grow up with and who later in life would be my best friends.

It's hard sometimes to have a birthday when they whole family isn't here to share it with you, but in my heart my dad and beautiful sister, Lisa will always be with me.

Tomorrow I'm spending time with my mom and sister and best brother-in-law in the world, Chris.  Hopefully mom doesn't share too many embarrassing teenage years stories when we go out to dinner because of few of my work friends are joining us!

This weekend my son is doing ALL the cooking (but definitely not all the cleaning up) and we're going to do our favorite thing together--Trailer Park Boys weekend marathon!

My Vintage mani for today is 60's style to celebrate me!!!
Watermarbling I'm not the best at lol but it's sort of groovy!

Make sure you stop by and visit all my much younger partners in crime's mani's today!

Digit-al Dozen Does Vintage--Cameo!

Hi Everyone!  I'm sharing a funny story today before posting my mani pic.  True story too!  When I was younger we had a picture of 2 silhouettes hanging in our living room for quite a few years.  One was a boy with short hair and one was a cute girl with long hair and curls.  They were hanging in the living room we were not allowed to go into except when we were naughty and had to sit in the chairs facing each other and not speak to one another.  I'm referring to my partner in crime--my sister Lisa, when I say we were naughty LOL.

A few years ago when I was helping my mom go through some of her boxes I found the silhouettes pressed in book but not in the frame.  And i was like what the heck why did she keep these but get rid of the frames.  So I asked her why she had these silhouettes of the little boy and girl.  And she say's "Laurie that's not a little boy!  This is you and your sister Lisa.  We had these done when you girls were young"

OMG all these years when I looked at those ding dang pictures I thought it was a boy and girl and the "boy" was me!  UG!  I never ever did have nice long hair like Lisa did!

To honor the memory of that poor little "boy's" silhouette here's my Digital-Dozen Vintage mani for today!!! Cameo!
Clearly these are two very lovely ladies facing each other LOL!

Have you ever had something like this happen to you?  You were just living living on your merry way until you found out something about it that wasn't what you thought?!

Be sure to check out the rest of my gang's awesome Vintage mani's!

Digit-al Dozen Does Vintage

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!  To we are kicking off our vintage week.  I think this will be a really interesting week, because in the end vintage really is all about what is vintage to you!

I'm kicking my week off with some vintage 50's and that can only mean one thing!!!
The King!!!  I went with some hot pink and black and then had to poll the audience aka my FB friends on whether or not my middle finger looked look boobs or records.  Thankfully records won!

I hope you'll sit back and enjoy the ride this week as we take you on a vintage journey!

Pretty in Purple!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Friday!  I hope everyone has had a great week.  We got more of the same, snow and then bitter cold blah, blah, blah.  I got a lot of awesome nail mail this week--great polishes, great plates so I'm hoping to put them altogether to show off over the weekend.  I have to say I'm even enjoying the heart mani's I've been doing and normally I'm not a heart gal!

I'm showing off another one of the Red Dog Designs I got last week.  This one is My Stardust Melody and it is SO lovely!  I paired with Zoya Mira and they were made for each other!
I love the soft pastel purple and green glitters as well as the iridescent teal glitters
And I did some more layering with stamping too.  I think it turned out pretty cute!

Here's some shots with flash to show of the sparkle!
I might be getting the hang of this layering thing!

I hope you all have a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Stay between the lines

Hi Everyone!! Happy Wednesday!!  Not to sure what to expect today as we're supposed to get more snow.  This Winter is sort of starting to hack me off.  We're getting it all, snow AND bitter cold.  It seems so unfair!  I definitely need some motivation to keep me in motion too!  Nothing keeps me going like a super cool mani to stare at all day!

I paired the lovely Elevation Kita with Opi Skyfall for this one!
I love this color combo SO much!
I've also been loving the 2 accent finger look and it gives me a way to wear MOAR of my nail polish!

I hope wherever you are you aren't getting buried by all this snow!   Stay warm!!!

And most especially Happy Hump Day!!

Sing it now--Love Stinks, yeah, yeah, love stinks!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Saturday! First off let's start the day talking about something that some people just hate this time of year, Valentine's Day.  For some reason so many people are against it.  Of course, what it appears to me, is that many single women hate it, but I'm happily single and I don't hate it at all.  Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate love--how can anyone not want to celebrate love????
Even if you don't have that special someone in your life, you probably have parents who mean something to you, or siblings that mean something to you, or children--aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandparents, friends--come on now someone in this grouping has to mean something to you if you don't have a spouse or significant other.  Valentine's is a day meant to tell someone they mean something to you.

That being said I have some AWESOME new polishes from Red Dog Designs to show you today from the new Love Stinks Collection.

First up the super lovely Down With Love.  This one is an awesome teal and purple glitter mix with teal and purple hearts AND diamond shapes!  Ooooh Ahhhhh I love me some diamond shaped glitter!
Here's a close up of the glittahs!
How yummy is this???!!!
This mani is pretty adorable too isn't it?  And I say I don't "do" cute--what am I talking about???  This is super cute!
I started with a base of China Glaze For Audreyy for this one and then did some simple stamping by layering.  My friend Stephanie layers all the time and her stuff is so cool so I had to try it!

Moving on to the next polish I have the super cool Tainted Love--omg it's an awesome green glitter mix with black hearts and skullz glitter!

How cool is this???!  Here's a close up of the glittah!
And as you can see I paired this cute polish with some skullz with bows!
Yep I layered again! And i also got to use my new Dior Lime
I didn't layer Tainted Love over it though, I layered it over Zoya Dove to try to bring out the green goodness of the glitter and they are a great combo!

I just loved this cute polishes I got from Red Dog Designs!  If you're looking to snag them you can find them HERE

I might not be down with love but I am down with snow!  Maybe Gina can make up some polishes with that in mind!  We got moar snow today, and we are getting moar again on Tuesday AND it's supposed to be super cold again UG!  I am ready for Spring--just not pastels LOL!

I hope you all have a great day--is anyone gearing up for the Super Bowl tomorrow????
