OK from the UK!

Hi Everyone!! Happy weekend!  It's a gorgeous day out here today in Wisconsin!  The sun is shining.  I have the day off AND I have Jill Shalvis' new Lucky Harbor book to read--you cannot ask for me.

Okay you can but still LOL!

Because of the magic of Facebook I have been able to meet some really cool people I would never have the chance to meet in person.  Say what you want about social media but Facebook really has been bringing people together for years now.  One of these people is my friend Sally.  She is a laugh a minute, ALWAYS makes me smile AND she has access to Nails Inc!  Yes I know I can take myself right down to Sephora or Ulta and check them out but nothing is better than nail polish from abroad!

I recently got some beautiful lovelies from my sweet Sally.  Nails Inc Elm Park Road being one of those lovelies.  It's STUNNING!  It's hard to describe!  It's a deep purple with micro glitters than can flash from green to gold depending on the light
I wore this all day on Friday with no stamping over it!  I stared at my fingers all day at work LOL!  Good lord it's heavenly

So yesterday I decided to stamp over it but it took me hours because I really just loved it so much!
I stamped using my new Avon Gold Metallic too! OH MY GOD I love the new Avon Metallics!!!!  I am so glad I snagged 6 bottles of the gold!
I used DRK B image for my stamping.  It's one of my favorite images and I felt it would just look great with this color.  I was right!

I hope you all have a wonderful day.  If you're in the States I hope you are enjoying our Labor Day Weekend.  Please be safe!

Scaley Things!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Monday!  Tonight I've got my Fantasy Football draft so I thought I'd put on some fantasy nails.  Ah if only mermaids were real!  I think it's no secret that mermaid nails one of my favorites to do and all week last week the theme in the advanced nail stamping group was "scales".  I hauled out my foils as I haven't done anything with them in quite awhile AND discovered I actually have the least amount of cracking with my Rejuvacote over them and then did some stamping
I like this look and how the foils make the scales look real!
Foils are fun and I love stamping over them
With some help from a MoYou Sailor plate this mermaid nails look was easy.  Let's just hope tonight's Fantasy Football draft is just as easy!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!!

Mesmerizing Gradient

Hi Everyone!!  I hauled out one of the new Marianne's plates I got awhile back and decided to give it a whirl and the results are pretty awesome!  I started with a gradient using some of the Icing polishes from 10.1 Polish.  The Icing collection is a fantastic collection you can use to leadlight.  I know the rage right now is everyone making their own sheer polishes but these are exceptional!  They are made with pigment so instead of just adding some clear to a color you get a more pigmented jelly with these.  I really love them!

I gradiented with Blueberry Blue, Lemon Cupcake and Cherry Blast.  I put down a base of white first as I wanted these to be brighter.  Then I stamped using my Marianne's n04 plate and the results are really cool!
The Marianne's plates are great for me.  The images are too wide and the length is perfect
And it wasn't even hard to get the image centered so that all the nails look uniform
I might try to hypnotize people at work with them today!!! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Summer--Summer Night's Sky!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Saturday!  UG sorry I am way late with my Friday post :(  Work has just been brutal and I had no time to do my nails on Thursday night because I was doing my friend Kate's nails for her and her husband's trip to Disney.  And honestly some things are more important than your nails--like those nails of your friends getting to go on their honeymoon to Disney!

So all that being said man this one was a tough one!  I REALLY wanted to do fireflies but my first attempt was ABYSMAL.  So I took to the internet found this GORGEOUS picture on deviantART by uncubitodehielo88 and freaking fell in love!!  So I tried to recreate it and I really love how it turned out even though it's more a summer night's sky than it is fireflies when it's on my nails.

Here's a pic of uncubitdehielo88's firefly mani
This is a stunning picture that totally say fireflies to me!

Here's my nails which really say galaxy or night sky LOL!
I really love them though, and I got to use one of my first frankens ever my Starry Night dupe--Natural Law.
I used my Mash 63 plate for the celtic look
This mani even says Doctor Who to me a little bit!

I spent many many years camping with my family and there is nothing more beautiful than the summer's night sky especially when you're viewing it during a camp fire!

Since I'm off today with no plans to do a thing I'm going to get caught up with everyone's posts from yesterday!!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Summer--Bubbles!

Hi Everyone!!! Hope you're all having a great week.  We are crazy busy at work right now and sometimes I feel like I might sink if I don't keep moving so I am definitely looking forward to the upcoming weekend!  No plans at all for this week so I might luck out and get to laze around and read.

Today, in the middle of August, we are expected to get a high of 68 degrees.  IN THE MIDDLE OF AUGUST!   It's really hard to think summer for this week's theme when we really haven't had summer here!  I did manage to do this super cute mani though with one of my new Sugar Bubbles plates
This is my new Sugar Bubbles SB 025 plate--how cute is this??!
I spent many a day in my youth as well as days in my son's youth blowing bubbles on a warm summer day and chasing after them!

Once again I have been completely blown away but the awesome job my fellow companions are doing in this week's Summer theme!   I feel so honored to be among such a group of talented ladies!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Summer--At the beach!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Hump Day!  My week is short but it still seems like Friday is too far off LOL!  I'm working some long hours this week to make up for being off on Monday so I didn't have a lot of time to put together my mani for today, BUT it seems as though I didn't need it.

Here's a lovely textured gradient for my day at the beach!
This lovely gradient is OPI Tiffany Case & Solitaire with Zoya Godiva and Bar
I thought about adding some shells but decided against it as I didn't want to take away from the simple beauty of this gradient.

I live on the shores of Lake Michigan so trust me when I say I know the beauty of the beach AND there are absolutely no sharks--ever!

Let's see what everyone else is wearing today!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Summer--Margarita nails!

Hi Everyone!!!  A happy Tuesday to you all.  Today I've got on a lot of sparkle.  I rarely buy nail polish at Sally Beauty Supply but this is one I just had to snag.  They had them up at the checkout when I was in buying acetone and my big o bag of cotton balls and it really caught my eye.  The name of it is Hyperactive and it's by Cinapro.  I thought it would be perfect for margarita nails because who isn't drinking some margaritas by the pool on a hot day??!!!

This is actually a textured polish I topcoated which is very rare for me!
It's full on neon yellow metallic hexes as well as micro neon yellow matte glitter.  A really unique combination
I did some stamping with CiCi  & SiSi as well as BM308.  I really like how this turned out almost as much as I love a margarita on the rocks!

Time to check out what all my fab friends have come up with for today!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Summer--Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday--Adventures In Acetone!

Hi Everyone!!

OMG I am SO excited about today's post.  First of all I have the day off today.  Despite having the day off I still got up at 5:30 am! UG!  I laid in bed and read for a little bit and then I decided it was now or never to try one of the fabulous Jacki from Adventures In Acetone's mani's.  I rarely copy Jacki because she is just so talented.  I've known her forever!  Since my first days of loving nail art and stamping and she's always SO encouraging.  So I decided what better day to try than today.

This week for the Digit-al Dozen our theme is summer.  What better thing to do in the summer is take a nice visit to our Racine Zoo down by the lake?  That's exactly what we did on Saturday!  Grandma Great, Tee Tee Nel & Uncle Chris and AJ , and Tee Tee Laurie all took Sean down to see the zoo for his first time and we had a blast.

Here are my zoo nails that I copied from the fabulous Jacki over at Adventures In Acetone!!!

I seriously cannot believe I was able to do it!
It's quite adorable!

Here's thumbie he got Mr Elephant
I'm really not a good free hand person so this is quite monumental for me!  We are going back to the zoo the end of August to see the baby tigers and lions so I might just have to put this on again so Sean can see it!

Here's a cute pic of Grandma Great, Sean and Tee Tee Nel in the train taking a little ride around the zoo!
I can't wait for Jacki to see this but first I need to get over and check out what my fab friends have come up with this week for The Digit-al Dozen Does Summer!

Hi Everyone!!! Sorry for my missing in action disappearing act!  I find myself working a lot again these days and just too tired sometimes to get my post up!  I didn't get a chance to finish my orange week so first of all let me show you the rest of the cool oranges I did!

The advanced nail stamping theme was stamping with straight lines last week and I am so happy I did one that turned out!  Stamping with straight lines is seriously one of the hardest things you can do! OMG they either get on crooked or you get wiggles in your lines when transferring to your nails.  The trick is to stamp onto your nails as lightly as you can.

Here's a cute one I did using OPI's Where Did Suzi's Mango?

This turned out SO good!
I was most happy with Halloween colors without the Halloween look!
And this is a nice double stamping technique I will definitely use again
What do you think?  Do you have trouble stamping with stripes?  Would you rather use striping tape or a striping brush to do lines?

Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!
