Tale As Old As Time

Hey Everyone!! Happy Mother's Day to all my readers who are moms!  Today's challenge theme for Adventures In Stamping is Your Favorite Fairy Tale.  Yikes!  I'm not kidding when I say I didn't really have a favorite fairy tale growing up.  I'm pretty old, so we didn't have all the wonderful Disney movies when I was a kid.  Bambi, Dumbo, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella that was pretty much it.  And while I didn't have much of a fascination with them I really LOVED Tarzan LOL!  When I was a young girl it was dream to be a Missionary in Africa driving around in my Winnebago.  I always figured if I got into any trouble, like fall in quick sand or almost getting eaten by a lion that Tarzan would swoop down and save me.  My poor dad had to break it to his daughter, Tarzan wasn't real.  OH THE HORROR!

My sweet friend Jin says the reason I love all my "mommy porn" books is because of the Tarzan fascination.  She tells me all guys in my "mommy porn" books are like Tarzan LOL!  She might be right!  I do so love my big alpha males!

Okay so no Tarzan for me, I mean how would I stamp Tarzan?  And he's not remotely similar to a fairy tale at all--so next up to bat is my favorite Fairy Tale brought to movie--Beauty And The Beast.  How can anyone not love a tale about a girl looking past the outside of a man to fall in love with the inside?  How does anyone not love the message of a story when it's "true love conquers all"?

So with that in mind I give you my interpretation of Beauty And The Beast
I sort of stayed within the color realm of blue and yellow for this one
And I have to say I think my yellow gradient is a really awesome gradient!  Too bad I didn't get pics of it without stamping over it!
I used all 3 Bundle Monster sets to create this beauty too!  My index and pinkie are Orly Sweet Peacock with a coat of Milani Blue Flash over it, some white striping and then stamping with BM16.  My thumb and swear are a gradient of Pure Ice A List and Orly Sweet Peacock with stamping of BM221.  My ring finger is a gradient of Sinful Unicorn, Zoya Pippa, and Sinful Pull Over stamped with BM323
I really wanted to do an interpretation of the story and not use a plate with images of the story.  I'm glad it turned out the way I imagined!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!!!

Merry Christmas!

A blessed Merry Christmas to you all!  Today is my first day off work since November 26th!  What better way to celebrate Christmas than with a day away from the hustle and bustle of pastry sales!  Of course here I am in my pajamas eating a delicious pecan kringle LOL!  I spent Christmas Eve with my family last night, a tradition we have had for years.  I thought it would be unbearable to have the night without my dad BUT while it was very sad it was also a very wonderful time spent with my family.  I was so proud of my mom who made it a nice evening for us--I know her heart is broken and I know how hard it is to get up everyday and just live without my dad.  I sat in his chair because I couldn't bear for it to be empty.  We shared some good memories and made some new ones!

Today I have another simple mani but I love how it turned out.  I did a gradient using Zoya Suvi, Orly Meet Me Under The Mistletoe, and Sinful Colors Call U Later.  The result was actually very subtle but I really loved it!
You'd think green nail polish just wouldn't look good, but I love it!  It's definitely becoming another "problem" color for me!
Instead of this being an in your face gradient it's really subtle
These are the colors I used to do the gradient
And because I got some nice stamping plates from my son, aka the cameraman, for Christmas I stamped over it using Gals GA27

Thanks for stopping by!  I wish a blessed Merry Christmas to you all!!!

Menage anyone?!?!?!!

Hi Readers!  Omg I have been SO tired lately and haven't had anytime to come from work and do nothing.  I've barely had time to come up with a decent mani AND I haven't been able to read.  Right now I'm reading Cherry Adair's  entire T-Flac series.  I honestly don't know why I didn't read them all right as they came out--these books are fantastic!  Suspense and hot romance what more can you want????

Well what I want is some time to get my nails done and read my books AND snuggle with Roscoe!  Tonight I set the goal for myself to be in bed at 8:30pm so I could spend 2 hours reading a book, snuggling Roscoe and playing with the chinchillas lol!  I didn't make my deadline Readers as I'm posting this at 8:54 BUT I'm only  behind 30 minutes!

I needed something cool and quick.  What better time to haul out the crackle??!!!!  I was going to do a black, gold and red mani and use Butter London Knees Up again instead I decided just on black and gold BUT sitting next to me on my little table were Sashay My Way and Clockwork--basically because I was too lazy to put them away from when I used them earlier this month!  How fortunate for me!  And let this be a lesson to you that being neat isn't always good!

I started with a couple coats of China Glaze It's My Turn--my favorite gold polish EVAH, then OPI Black Shatter then I topped it with both Orly Sashay My Way and Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork! BAM instant nail art in a hurry!

I'm definitely going to wear my cage ring with this mani tomorrow!!!

No stamping necessary--sometimes you gotta love that lol!

I wonder if anyone would think I'm wacko if I tried to marry Clockwork?  I think we make a good couple!

Okay now I'm only an hour off schedule!  And who am I kidding when I say I'll read for 2 hours???!! Lately I can't even make it an hour before the reader is smacking me in the face as I doze off lol!

I am getting home early tomorrow with nothing to do and I have something special in mind for the Summer Challenge on Friday--so here's hoping it will turn out!

I love this kind of menage--it's easy, safe, AND no jealousy going on here as they are all beautiful in their own way!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Just Like Clockwork!

Hi Readers!  It's not everyday--okay really it's NEVER any day where I don't stamp.  Today there is no stamping.  None needed either because this mani is so gorgeous and it just blew me away.

I did a gradient using Orly's Buried Alive and then Misa Golden Thread and topped it with the most gorgeous and glorious Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork

I asked my coworker the fabulous Lizzard, if she could snap a pic of both hands. She is an EXCELLENT camera man!

It was actually hard to work as I was so busy looking at my gorgeous nails!

I consider myself super lucky to be friends with Michelle who is the talent behind Sonoma Nail Art.  She's the total package Readers--pretty, funny, mega creative and talented, and really super sweet!

Do you have any Sonoma Nail Art polishes??? Which one is your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

The Midas Touch

Hi Readers!  I did this mani awhile ago and am just now posting it.  I wasn't really sure if this would turn out when I was doing it but I was so pleasantly surprised!  This is a couple of coats of Orly Sashay My Way over a gold franken I made and then stamped with Kleancolor black!

Don't you just love that sparkle shot in the full sun??

I actually did this mani while my dad was in the ICU, little did I know this would be the last mani he'd ever see on me

It's very sparkly and very pretty that's for sure!

I know some people don't like to stamp over glitters but really some of them make a perfect base for it.  This almost looks like a foil to me!  I believe I used an image from Cheeky XL A

Have you tried stamping over glitters?  What are you thoughts?

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Internet Mother's DON'T Always Know Best!

Hi Readers!  I think most of you by know my choice of colors leans toward the dark side.  Face it I'm just not a summery, pastel, neon wearing gal!  Give me those dark vampy colors and I feel at home.  A couple of months ago I bought Orly's Buried Alive from the Dark Shadows collection and I have yet to wear it.  So I hauled it out along with my recently purchased China Glaze Exotic Encounters.  I decided to toss in my favorite "ugly" color China Glaze Trendsetter and a gradient was born!
I love how this turned out! It reminded me of the jungle!
I was wracking my brain for a stamping idea as i was leaning toward tribal or animal print--giraffe in particular.  I asked my internet daughter, Rebecca of Rebecca Likes Nails what I should do and boy did she ever come up with a great idea!  Really Readers she is not just another pretty face!

Since it had the jungle feel she suggested the leaves image from Mash-50
I think it's fantastic!!!!
I'm wearing an olive green top tomorrow and this mani is going to be perfect!

What do you think of this one?  Do you love this pretty "ugly" colors or are they not your thing??

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday Lucy's Stash!

Hi Readers!  I feel I've been very blessed in the "nail" world as I've been lucky enough to meet my blogger and you tube idols!  When I first got into stamping I would devour all the posts from blogs such as Rebecca Likes Nails, Colores de Carol, Let Them Have Polish and You Tube Channel Soguesswhat11 it wasn't too long before I actually got meet all these ladies via facebook and discover the wonderful person behind the blog.  This has happened to me with several bloggers and I feel so blessed.  Recently I got to meet my latest blogging crush, Lucie, from Lucy's Stash.  Thanks
to the loveliness that is Pinterest I discovered Lucy's Stash and the zillion way cool mani's there.  Today I have chosen a mani of her's that I saw a little bit ago and the instant I saw it I said, "OMG I have to do this one!"
Talk about smooth and classy to me this mani says it all!
I know it looks hard but thanks to striping tape it really isn't!
Lucie used the Spa Rituals for her mani but I have zero Spa Rituals so I had to think quick on my feet! Zoya Pasha for the base, Orly Buried Alive is the brown, OPI Take The Stage is the orange and OPI Rising Star is the gold.  I think it turned out great!
My friend Dema and I did a little swap a bit ago and she set this ring with my polish! OMG it looks great with this mani!
I really want to haul this mani out again in the Fall--these are perfect Fall colors!
To see the original mani Lucie did please check here

Here are the side by side comparison pics how'd I do?

Make sure you check out my partners in crime in this weeks

Wonder Twin Power Activate! Form of . . . a gorgeous mani!

Hi Readers!  Are any of you old enough to know what today's title means??? Obviously I am lol!  The Wonder Twins were part of the Super Friends cartoon--Zan and Jayna.  Zan can transform into any state of water--solid, liquid or gas.  His twin sister's Jayna can transform into any kind of animal real or mythological.
Here they are in case you needed a blast from the past!
I have a wonderful friend Crystal whom I loving refer to as Wonder Twin--you've seen her fingers before here.  Recently she was CRAZY enough to sell this to me in an attempt of hers to do some polish house cleaning!
Orly Galaxy Girl!  Holy cow it's gorgeous!
It's really unique, to me it's a red brown type jelly with this incredible blue sparkle. Here it is with flash
This one is actually pretty enough to wear with no stamping but we all know what happens when I say that!
Yep I stamp on it!  Isn't this gorgeous readers?????!!!!!!
Here's a flash pic of it--I really don't like the flash on this new old camera I got because it overexposes my hand SO much BUT beggars can't be choosers!
I love this image!! It's from RA-109
To get this look I did 2 coats of Orly Galaxy Girl then used China Glaze Adore and Emotion by just blobbing them in different spots on the flowery image on RA109. Here are the polishes I used.
I really like my Wonder Twin--she's super nice and very sweet--a little foolish to give up this Galaxy Girl though if you ask me!  Here we are together
I'm on the left and she's on the right--kind of hard to take a decent looking pic of yourself lol!!!
Now of course the above pic is just what we look like in our every day lives when we are the Wonder Twins we look like this!
Hahahahahah! OMG this picture of us cracks me up!

Well that's it for today readers great polish, great mani and great Wonder Twins combo!!!  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!
