Funny thing happened on the way to the camp ground . . .

Hi Everyone!  I survived the camping weekend even with the full moon!!  Nary a werewolf in sight BUT I had a major acetone accident.  I kid you not my acetone bottle leaked all over my camera and my camera melted!  OH THE HORROR!  I'm pretty upset about it but no use crying over spilled acetone!  I'm putting together a few nail parties and doing up a bunch of mani's to help my cause!  I figure by the end of June I should be good to go!

In the meantime I do have an old camera that's not so great when it comes to color accuracy.  I hope you'll all be able to bear with me until I get a new one.

On the bright side I do have a few mani pics I have posted yet with the old camera--may he rest in peace--so I'll post a few of them!
I did a "dirty" gradient with Pure Ice Draped and Soflajo White Sensation
I love this "hot" matte look for summer!!!!
It's almost blinding!
I can't believe I used to hate matte!  Crazy!!! I really love it!!!
There's just something about pink, white and black together don't you think???!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend and good day back at work yesterday!!

Cheap but definitely not tawdry!

Hi Everyone!  I didn't have much time for nail art but you know how I am and wearing "plain" nails is so hard for me.  So I did the one thing I knew I could wear without not having anything stamped on it--a suede finish!  I cannot express how much I just love these new Pure Ice Velvets.  OMG they are so fantastic.  I look at them and think "how can something this gorgeous cost $2"  And really I want to know how something so gorgeous costs only $2???!!  Are you listening Dior, Channel, Butter London and Illamasqua?????  Pure Ice is only 2 ding dang bucks!

I think suedes or mattes are the only polish I can wear plain with no stamping over them and be totally okay with it!  Here I have on Pure Ice Blue Midnight with an accent of Sonoma Nail Art 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea as an accent

How can something this gorgeous only cost $2??????

It's so decadent and rich and just flat out gorgeous!

20,000 Leagues is one of my fave polishes from Sonoma Nail Art too--ha who am I kidding I love ALL of Michelle's polishes!!

I think I might love suedes more than crackle! Shhhhhh don't tell crackle!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Broken hearts do mend!

Hi Everyone!! Happy weekend!  What do you all have planned this weekend?  I'm going to do some shopping with my mom and spend some time hanging with my sweet grand nephew--Sean.  Winter storm Nemo passed and our official snow fall was 7.2 inches.  It looks GORGEOUS outside!  I'm going to try to snap some pictures of it when I head out this morning.  I know it makes driving difficult and no one likes to shovel but when you see the true beauty of a snowfall you forget about all of that.

Today I'm featuring ANOTHER Valentine's Day mani--let's face it I'll probably do so everyday until the big day arrives lol!  This one was was so easy to do especially with the help of a gorgeous velvet finish polish from Pure Ice
I did a crackle accent nail with Pure Ice Hot Couture over black--I love Pure Ice Crackles--I think they are the best Crackles you can get.  I cut out a heart image in masking tape, placed it on my finger and painted Hot Couture over the tape. I did a simple heart gradient by using the same heart cut out and gradienting with a sponge over it for the other accent nail. And my finishing touch was Pure Ice Stunning for the rest of my fingers.
I absolutely LOVE the Pure Ice velvet polishes!

Even in the shade this mani is adorable!
Thanks for stopping by today!!  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!

Day 4--Pink!!

Hi Everyone!!! Day is pink day in the Crumpet Nail Tart's 31 Day Challenge.  I'm not a huge pink lover per say but I've gotten some really nice pink's lately so I had to give them a go!  I got La Pazitively Hot from my friend Amber and got Pure Ice Draped from my polish wifey Lori so I decided to gradient them to see what would happen.

Not much lol!  It's a pretty subtle looking gradient
Still it looks pretty hot and it's certainly bright!
I stamped over it using Kleancolor Metallic Black and BM310
I like the matte look with the metallic Kleancolor AND I did not topcoat over it after stamping
This is probably a much better suited for summer mani BUT it's got to be summer somewhere!
Let's check out what's up for tomorrow
PURPLE!!! Oooh I have something fab in mind for that one!

Let's see what all my friends have done for pink!

Going for the gold!

Hi Everyone!  Today's theme for the Adventures In Stamping challenge is gold-either as a base or stamping with it.  I'm still on my matte kick and my "wifey" Lori went out of her way to get me the Pure Ice's I didn't have yet and Crushed was one of them.  Holy Hannah this is one gorgeous color!  I keep saying how can a $2 polish be this lovely??  Because my nails are long right now the 1st Bundle Monster set is challenging for me.  I like the full nail images on it but they just don't fit.  I got creative with BM21 though

I stamped just the tips with a design from BM21 and then used my black striping polish.  I thought about using my black shatter with it somehow BUT it's pretty dried up.  Time for some thinner for my beloved Shatter.

I remember when mattes first came out and I thought, "what a dumb idea"  and that was ages ago--YEARS ago, and here I am finally on the bandwagon.  Who knows maybe years from now I'll finally like jellies and glitter sandwiches too LOL!

I learned the hard way with mattes and stamping you have to put a clear coat on first THEN the matte.  If you try to do a matte topcoat over your stamped image it will smear.

This is how the design looked all shined up with Seche Vite

Still lovely, BUT there is just something about the matte I loved more.

How about you?  Which do you prefer?

I'm only working 6 hours today instead of 12 woot!!! AND my sweet, sweet, sweet friend Kara sent me a surprise package yesterday.  I had wanted to buy a lot of the James Bond's but my assignment ended where I had been working much earlier than anticipated so I just couldn't justify spending that much on myself when I didn't know if/when I would be working again.  I had planned on snagging a few with all this overtime I'm working but low and behold a package with To Live And Let Die (my favorite Bond movie), Casino Royale, and Tomorrow Never Dies was in mailbox yesterday.  A lovely "surprise, I hope these put a smile on your face" note was instead too.  Kara is just the sweetest!  I definitely plan on playing with them for sure!!!

The Packers play tonight and we're trying to decide if we're doing sloppy joes or garlic chicken.  Right now it's a toss up.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  We got that really wet snow last night and none of it stuck, hopefully there is more on the way and will be around for Christmas.

Go ahead and touch me softly!

Hi Everyone!  Happy weekend!  I cannot stress enough how much I am in love with these new Pure Ice Velvets which I refer to as suedes.  They are AWESOME!  The dry instantly and and so vibrant in color.  2 of my dear friends were able to get me all the ones I wanted and I just love them!  I didn't get home until after 10pm on Thanksgiving and I had to work yesterday so I didn't have time for a mani UNTIL yesterday morning just before work.  I was able to put together a gorgeous mani in 20 minutes YES 20 minutes before heading out to work yesterday!!!

I got a zillion compliments on this yesterday and I loved it so much I'm wearing it again today!  I'm thinking of putting a shiny topcoat on it to see the shimmer come alive.  If I do I'll make sure to post pics!

This is just a sponged on french tip of first black over Pure Ice Touch Me Softly and then Pure Ice Black Velour sponged over the black to give it a black matte look.  I stamped using BM01 and voila! Gorgeous and quick!

After a grueling day at work I came home to find 4 more of these gorgeous treasures sitting in my mailbox!  I can't wait to try them all out!  I hope you're not sick of looking at mattes LOL!

My big plans for the weekend are spending time with my family at a comedy show on Saturday night, hopefully getting my hair cut and the house clean on Sunday and then Packer Football Sunday night!  What's everyone else up to?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Calling Kyle MacLachlan!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Friday!  Today I'm wearing one of the new Pure Ice Velvet's called Blue Midnight.  This is all I can really say about it - - - -

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I simply could not staring at this mani and I didn't even do any nail art on it!

It's a gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, and did I mention GORGEOUS shimmering suede!  I added an accent nail of Icing's Let Me See Your Peacock simply because it's an untried and I vowed to wear more of my untrieds

I threw a matte topcoat over Let Me See Your Peacock and called it a day!

SHAZAM!  I love these new Pure Ice Velvets! LOVE THEM!!!!!!!  And for 2 bucks you can't go wrong!!!

I'm really glad I had such great friends be able to find and get these for me!!!

I've had a couple on and I feel what they say is true once you can matte you never go back LOLOLOLOL!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a great day!

Welcome to the velvet jungle!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Weekend!  You don't have to cue the Guns n Roses music if you don't want too BUT today I have a gradient with a couple of the new Pure Ice Velvets and I did an animal print stamp over them.  I LOVE how it turned out!  First of all let me just tell you how much I love suede polishes. I LOVE THEM!  When I heard Pure Ice had suedes aka velvets I was so stoked.  Alas the Walmarts here do not have the LE Holiday display.  Coming to my rescue is the fab Ashley from Ashley is Polish Addicted.  She got me the ones I wanted and my "wifey" Lori is looking for some I didn't think I needed but then discovered yes I do need them after all lol!  Anyway thanks to some awesome friends I'm going to wind up with all of the ones I wanted!

Today I did a gradient with Black Velour and Femme Fatale and then I stamped over it with Sally Hansen Chrome Pen in green using BM221

I really love this matte look to it!

My image didn't transfer so hot on the pinkie

I'm so thankful for Fall and Winter months because I'm not a pastel lover at all!

I love dark colors and green and black together rock!

I added a shiny topcoat to it, but I think I like the matte look better!

How about you?  Matte or shiny?

I can't wait to do more mani's with these Pure Ice's!!! Hopefully they'll find their way here I might want to check out the glitters lol!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!
