Whelp I'm late with day 5 but I have a good reason!! I but my thumb yesterday right on the side and it hurt SO DANG BAD and I will totally admit I was afraid of acetone! I pretty much babied it all day today and managed to take off my gradient stamped lines without crying too much. Not sure why the hell I thought a gradient would be a good idea because I'm not using latex at all for my mani's these days so yep polish ALL over my skin and more importantly my cut.
I managed to survive!! And my mani is really quite lovely. It was basically born out of sheer laziness though. Sitting next to me on my little tv stand is some polish I've used and haven't put away yet. Sitting out were Nails Inc Wellington Square and it reminded me of a mani I had done ages ago with similar colors so I snagged a dusky turquoise--Sinful Savage for my gradient. And yep it is as lovely as before. Again born out of sheer laziness I grabbed the nearest plate to me ( I still have plates tucked in a tote bag I haven't put away from move yet) and it was my VL4 plate. So this really lovely mani is all because I was too lazy to really get up and look around for some polish and plates to use
I just love reverse stamping images don't you?
Even with the black this is still such a delicate look
I also love how the coral and turquoise overlapping create a purple
I actually wanted to do a glitter gradient tonight and even toyed with a magnetic gradient today but in the end sheer Saturday laziness created this mani for me!
This week was a great week! So happy with how all mine turned out and really loved what everyone else came up with!
Hi Everyone Happy Hump Day! My post is up pretty dang late today because the mani I did last night was a MAJOR fail! OMG it was just hideous. I had this great idea to do a dried flower mani and I spent more than an hour working on it and UG it was SO awful. I didn't have time to fix it because Daylight Savings Time STILL SUCKS and I had to go to bed at 9:30 just to try to finally adjust. Did it happen? The adjusting that is?? Nope it did not! I still lay in bed until at least midnight or 1 am before falling asleep. I didn't have the time to take it off this morning because see earlier sentence--I didn't fall asleep until 1 am and had to be up at 5 am which really meant I hit the snooze a zillion times and didn't get up until 6 am and have to be out the door no later than 6:27am. And I mean it if I leave at 6:28 I am 10 minutes late to work despite leaving only 1 minute later.
I had to sit and look at the ugly ass manicure all day at work while I was tired and crabby and most likely crabby because of my sucktastic mani. I rushed home and thought "am I posting this swill or am I doing a quick one handed mani to post something and then do my St Patrick's Day mani" The one handed mani won I'm happy to say and it is definitely an improvement
Here's my smoosh method with stamping over it yes it looks nice but it's coming off as soon as I post this because I've got other things to do!
To be honest I'm not sure I love the black dots but I didn't want to do yellow ones LOL
I dotted a few Nails Inc's I had sitting out onto my stamper head and then smooshed dabbed it on to my nails
I stamped with My Online Shop MJ XLV
What do you think about these black dots though??? UG I'm not really liking them now but it's too late!
This will do in a pinch and just because I don't want to talk about a crappy mani without back it up this is monstrosity I did last night that looked horrid!
So I succumb to flowers for day 3 but so far only flowers once unless you count last night's horror
Hi Everyone! Last Sunday was the 38th anniversary of Elvis' death. It seems almost unbelievable he has been gone that long but it is most certainly true. I was all prepared to do my way cool Elvis mani and 2 things happened. The first thing was a family picnic I had to go to and I ran out of time getting it done before the picnic. The second thing was the water decals I got did not show up over the mani I did LOL!
No worries! I was able to fix the decal situation and this is the mani I wore for several days last week while I remembered the music idol I've held dear to my heart for so many years
I'm wearing Nails Inc Baker St and did some stamping decals with FUN 17.
At first I tried to use a blue suited Elvis over this decal and you couldn't see him LOL!
The black was definitely the way to go!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
Hi Everyone!!! Happy Monday! A super long time ago I saw this cool mani done by Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails. Sarah has mad skills and most of the time I can't come close to doing something by her BUT then I got "the grass plate" The grass plate is one of those funky kind of plates you find on Aliexpress and need it but you aren't sure when you'll ever use it. I got it AGES ago in a group buy through a FB group and I finally hauled it out so I could do a scenery manicure. Then I remembered Sarah's lovely fireflies at sunset and BAM a star was born!
I did a gradient with Elevation Grand Sunset Teton and Nails Inc Brompton Place and Brook Street. I have no idea if you can even find the infamous grass plate on AE anymore but it is CZ08 if you feel compelled to look
I'm a little sad my fireflies didn't photograph better I decided not to use a bright yellow and I think that might have been my downfall
Here's my thumb getting in on the action too
You can find Sarah's original post HERE But I was smart enough to do a nice side by side comparison
I was so excited to be able recreate this beautiful mani from Chalkboard Nails AND use my grass plate finally!
Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
Hi Everyone! Happy weekend to all. Today is my grand nephew's birthday party. I'm sure it's going to be a super fun time because he is so adorable AND cake will be involved! We might even hit 80 degrees today. Too bad right now it's raining outside!
UG we are officially having the worst Spring/Summer ever so far. It's been cold and rainy. We really didn't have Spring instead we had Sprinter a Spring/Winter mix. Now it's June and it should be Summer but nope still not even Spring yet I don't think--OIY what a mess!
A couple of weeks ago I snagged the Spring It On nail polish collection from Nails Inc. I just loved all the colors in this collection AND I was able to get them all--shipped for less than $26! That is a steal! I couldn't decide which one I wanted to wear first so I grabbed 3 of them and did a small skittles look. I also got to try out my new Gogo Only St Happy plate!
Aren't these colors perfect for Spring/Summer mani's???!!! The blue is Royal Botanical Gardens, the pink is Brompton Place and the orange is Wellington Square.
I used one of my new Mundos from The Candy Collection--Sky Blue to stamp
This is just a super simple and fast mani and it's pretty cute! What do you think?
How are all of you faring this supposed Summer season so far?
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you all have a fantastic day!
Hi Everyone! Happy Sunday! I've got another alcohol ink marker mani to show off today. I did some Born Pretty Store Stamping and then colored in with some of my permanent markers to come up with this really pretty yet really simple and easy look today. I paired these flowers with the super gorgeous and probably best blue creme ever, Nails Inc's Baker St.
Looks like my nails are ready for Spring even though we might get some snow later this evening!
I have to say I really have been enjoying using the markers for some nail art
And they are a lot easier to do than decals!
Have any of you tried using permanent markers and alcohol yet???
Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
Hi Everyone! Sorry for my short absence but this is the time of the year for me when it's a little crazy. Between 2 jobs I am working 14 hour days and weekends AND still have to find time to do my nails!
I will try to post as often as possible!
I have this lovely mani to show off I had on the other day. I just did some easy white snowflake stamping over Nails Inc, Cadogan Gate
I really love how sparkly Cadogan Gate is! It's just stunning and perfect for Winter!
I got a zillion compliments on this mani, I wish it had looked better in the pics!
I used MoYou Festive 01 plate which is nothing but snowflakes!!! It's pretty awesome.
We are having a pretty dang cold November. Thankfully we are having snow like poor Buffalo, NY is!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
Hi Everyone!!! Happy Hump Day!! Today I've got something on good enough to eat! I got a few Nails Inc's in the other day and I just love them! Nails Inc polishes especially their cremes are soooooo dreamy. Since we are definitely into Fall weather here I grabbed up Fenchurch Street and Cadogon Square and did a cool swirly needle drag
These colors look great together and are just perfect for this time of year!
I love how my thumb turned out too!
I first saw this cool needle drag look over on Sveta Sanders Instagram. Have you seen Sveta's stuff? It's amazing! Check her out HERE I promise you, you will get tons of great ideas from her!
As much as I enjoy the warmer weather of Summer I'm glad we are slipping into Fall. Dark colors are so much more my thing. How about you are you neon for life and happy to see the return our the dark vampy colors?
Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
Happy Birthday September babies! Today's post from The Digit-al Dozen is all about September's birthstone--the sapphire. Today I decided to try and recreate a look I had seen my friend Michelle from Manic Talons do with her Pueen Encore set. She did an amazing gorgeous look with all blues. I was lucky enough to get my Nails Inc Raphael St in so I immediately thought of double stamping some blue over it!
I really love how this turned out and the sapphire blue base of Raphael Street is simply stunning
I don't stamp in color enough. This is something I need to work on for sure
Thumby is soooooo pretty!
I don't have the Pueen Encore set yet so I had to settle for my Pueen Buffet set which I find does work well for double stamping images!
Be sure to stop by and check out what everyone else did for their Sapphire nails!
Hi Everyone!! Happy weekend! It's a gorgeous day out here today in Wisconsin! The sun is shining. I have the day off AND I have Jill Shalvis' new Lucky Harbor book to read--you cannot ask for me.
Okay you can but still LOL!
Because of the magic of Facebook I have been able to meet some really cool people I would never have the chance to meet in person. Say what you want about social media but Facebook really has been bringing people together for years now. One of these people is my friend Sally. She is a laugh a minute, ALWAYS makes me smile AND she has access to Nails Inc! Yes I know I can take myself right down to Sephora or Ulta and check them out but nothing is better than nail polish from abroad!
I recently got some beautiful lovelies from my sweet Sally. Nails Inc Elm Park Road being one of those lovelies. It's STUNNING! It's hard to describe! It's a deep purple with micro glitters than can flash from green to gold depending on the light
I wore this all day on Friday with no stamping over it! I stared at my fingers all day at work LOL! Good lord it's heavenly
So yesterday I decided to stamp over it but it took me hours because I really just loved it so much!
I stamped using my new Avon Gold Metallic too! OH MY GOD I love the new Avon Metallics!!!! I am so glad I snagged 6 bottles of the gold!
I used DRK B image for my stamping. It's one of my favorite images and I felt it would just look great with this color. I was right!
I hope you all have a wonderful day. If you're in the States I hope you are enjoying our Labor Day Weekend. Please be safe!
Hi Everyone!!! Happy Monday! Today starts a week long theme of Autumn. Some friends and I are posting together this week showcasing what Autumn is to us. It should be interesting!!! Some of them don't even have 4 seasons where they live! I do though! I live in the glorious state of Wisconsin where we have 4 seasons every year and Fall is definitely gorgeous here. I feel very blessed to wake up and look outside and see sugar and red maple trees in a gold or rich red and the aspen in their gorgeous yellows. And of course mingled through them all are the majestic pine trees!
Well they are majestic until you try to paint them on your nail.
Here's a word of advice people--just because you receive your set of 3 detailed brushes for nail art means you are suddenly an artist!
I tried channeling Bob Ross but it just didn't work LOL!
My base, however, is MAGNIFICENT! I used a ton of polishes to create my base--Nails Inc Hamstead Gardens--the ugly mustard yellow no one seems to like but that I love, Sinful Colors Innocent, OPI A Roll In The Hague, Revlon Vixen, Zoya Envy, Darcy, Josie & Thandie were all dabbed on with saran wrap over one coat of Hamstead Gardens.
It all went wrong with those happy little trees! My index pine tree is like some sort of mutant!
Sometimes less really is more!
I love how thumbie turned out!
This is the picture which inspired me!
Look at all these gorgeous Fall colors!!!!!
Here's some shots with flash
Sort of makes the pine tree on my index even more mutanty!!
I really loved my base and even the pine tree on my swear isn't too bad. I think stamping over this base would have been great too--I might just drag it out again since the challenge is a week long!
Check out what my friends came up with for Autumn!
Hi Everyone! Holy cow did I have a major fail of a mani this morning! I worked on a gradient for today's AIS challenge theme which is Autumn Nail and what I fully expected to turn out glorious and beautiful was a hot sucktastic mess! Good lord it was ugly. My friend James always tries to say I have no fails but I think we all know I have had some major fails! I was able to recover this fumble though (how do you love that football analogy for football Sunday???) and do something I think is quite lovely.
The colors I chose today are Nails Inc Hamstead Gardens--one of those pretty "ugly" colors and Zoya Pepper and Toni.
Here's the craptastic gradient and stamping first
Yikes this is just a hot mess! I didn't even clean up that great since I knew it wasn't staying on!
I did like how my thumb turned out though and I thought of doing the same gradient again with different stamping
But I didn't!
Here's the ever elusive and rarely seen in the wild right hand--the one I refer to as my "man" hand. I had stamped over the left and then realized I should have taken some pics of just the lovely Fall skittle!
Nails Inc Hamstead Gardens is that mustardy/baby poop yellow. It's perfect for Fall! The ring is Zoya Toni and really nice bordeux and the swear is Zoya Pepper--the perfect brick red!
I stamped using SA-02 with China Glaze Passion
I think it still says "Autumn" and it definitely looks better as a skittle rather a gradient!
I really like my new set of SA plates from Aliexpress.com!!
While the distinct difference between Zoya Pepper and Toni is harder to tell with the stamping over it, this mani is much better in my eye than the gradient.
Here's the Before and After shots though--YOU be the judge!
Heading over to a friend's for the Packer game!!!! Hope my mani brings the Pack good luck!
Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
