Hi Everyone Happy Wednesday! Recently I was asked if I would review the July Destination Duo for Blue Eyed Girl and 6 Harts. I was sent both polishes for my honest and unbiased review. When I saw the inspiration pic I knew this would be some very unique to summer colors. Typically we think bright bright bright and neon for summer but there's a lot of summer to be had and depending on where you live and what you like to do Summer isn't always bright.
Sometimes Summer is a weekend getaway Up North where everything smells like pine and the scenery is full of rock formations and trails that lead you on a grand adventure. Give me an Up North camping getaway any day!
My first swatches for you are from 6 Harts Polish. Her contribution to the July Destination Duo is called Rocks Of Ages. It is a lovely medium grey chock full of micro color shifting microflakes as well as green and dark grey microflakes. The flakes are very subtle in the polish so that you get a hint of a various shifts and colors. The true beauty is the perfect grey creme. I just adore grey nail polish don't you?
I had no issues with the application other than like all indies for me it tended to be slightly thicker than mainstream polishes. Most likely due to all the microflakes scattered throughout
This is definitely a cool grey which is perfect for my skin tone
I love the subtle flakes throughout this gorgeous grey.
Truly gorgeous and the name is perfect for this color!
This is the perfect color for a respite from all the bright neons out there right now and will be fantastic come Fall
This is the picture Courtney from 6 Harts shared with me from which she drew her inspiration
Look at how cool this rock formation is right along the road. I bet kids everywhere had this as a landmark when they were going Up North for a week of vacation somewhere!
Next up is Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer keeping along with the beauty of nature she's done a very lovely pine green jelly like finish packed with red/gold/green shifting shimmer and tons and tons of gold flakies and there is a fantastic bit of blue micro holo bits in here as well her polish name is Pining For The Pass
This is a very unique color
The color shifting red/gold/green shimmer is quite lovely but hard for me to capture indoors
Check out all that's going on in this polish, the gold flakies are really cool
Here's a shade shot to see how many there are
I think this is going to be an awesome color for Fall and especially Halloween!
The name fits right in with the picture!
You can see a bit of shrinkage at the tips on me as I do always wear at least two coats of Seche Vite over flakie heavy polish to smooth them out like glass. That's how I prefer mine to look.
I do really love the little hint of blue sparkle you get with the micro holo flakies. And speaking of sparkle!! You also get a little bag of glitter with this duo!!
lots of green holo glitters in here with various sizes of green and gold glitter, some chunky white but small bar glitter and vampy red/burgundy. It's not intended for use in polish but that just means most likely it bleeds in clear. An excellent way around this when you want to use it, sponge it on with a sponge or makeup applicator!
Both of these polishes applied easily for me, I would simply say again as with most indies for me they seem to be a bit thicker than mainstream polishes but I believe it's because of all the ultrachrome and gold flakies present. I didn't have any issues at all with application and both polishes took two coats. I put two coat of Seche Vite Top Coat over both as again I like my flakie polishes to look as smooth as glass.
The July Destination Duo is limited. Each store will have only 15 sets. These are available for purchase on July 7, 2016.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Food--Root Beer Floats!
Hi Everyone! Happy Wednesday! I've got a story post to go along with my Digit-al Dozen mani today. Our fearless leader, The Crumpet, always tells me how much she enjoys my story posts.
When I was a young girl about 7 or 8 we were on our way to see the 4th of July parade. Parking was always a nightmare and some roads get blocked off so they can have the parade on Main St here in Racine. It's kind of a crazy affair down there and I'm sure it didn't help matters much when you were two parents trying to watch out for an 8 year old a 6 year old and a 2 year old toddler. Somewhere in the mayhem of parking and everyone getting out of the car and lawn chairs getting taken out and blankets and all the other things little girls need with them my mom slammed my fingers in the car door.
And it was locked.
Imagine that scene if you will! Young girl screaming her head off, her sister crying right along side her in solidarity and two parents frantically trying to get the door unlocked. Needless to say we did not go to the parade. Instead my dad piled all of us back into the car and took us to a real old fashioned drug store with a wooden floor and I got a root beer float! My first ever root beer float I believe. And just like that no more tears
And so it began--that was the first time Al Lutze fed the hurt or the scared or the sad in one of his daughters and it would continue on for years.
When I was 8 or 9 we were camping in a pop up camper in the middle of the thunderstorm and my mom wasn't at the camp ground yet. She was a nurse and couldn't get off on Friday night so we went out there without her. OMG it was a nightmare! Thunder, lightning, the rain hitting hard on the roof and our poor dog Beauregard almost drown! Oh yes for real!! He was tangled around the camper leg and we kept hearing a bump coming from under the camper and dad figured out it was Beau hitting his head as we was trying to keep his head up. The rule of no dogs in the camper was broken that night when Beau was let in to find the safety and comfort of our young girl arms. All three of us were bawling--me, Lisa and Lynelle--and of course we were all crying for our mom who wasn't there LOL! Dad opened the camper cupboards took out the box of ho-ho's (that was meant to last the entire weekend) ripped off the top and said "here girls eat these!" and we did.
When I was 10 my mom had to go in to the hospital to get false teeth. She had to be admitted overnight because it was dental surgery and back then they didn't do the whole you're in and you're out in a hot minute. Dad was trying to explain to us what would happen because we were afraid for our mom--we were worried it would hurt. He told us they put her to sleep--well that is not the right thing to say to me for sure because I was positive she wouldn't wake up and then I would never see her again so BAM the waterworks start. And back then if Laurie was crying so was Lisa and so was Lynelle. Poor dad he went to the freezer took out the huge bucket o vanilla ice cream he bought by the gallon and just stuck 3 spoons in it and said "here girls eat this!" and we did.
Many times in my life food has been a great comfort and I can tell you this--it's never been celery. Give me mashed potatoes and gravy and macaroni and cheese and chicken n dumplings and tapioca pudding and cherry turnovers.
When Lisa died our entire family was present. We were all at her bedside watching her take her last breath and for me it was especially hard because I was so glad my sister--my beautiful sister--was no longer suffering. But she was also gone--my best friend for almost 45 years. We all felt a little lost. We spent days with her in the end, no one left the house, no one moved too far from her bedside, and now suddenly she was gone. Dad gathered the family together and said "I want everyone to go home, freshen up, change clothes, and we'll all meet at the diner in an hour". So there he was once again at the saddest, most difficult time in our lives trying to ease the pain with food.
We grew up laughing at these things and teasing him but really these are some of the most treasured moments I have of my dad. Despite the hardships I did suffer occasionally throughout my life my dad was there for me--my rock and many times my savior.
Today's mani is a celebration of all the wonderful memories I have of him
Here's to you Dad!
It's hard to see how gorgeous it is in this lighting but I used Bat Crap Crazy from 6 Harts for my root beer brown--it is a gorgeous brown with micro holo glitters in it!
Thanks for letting me share my story with you tonight!

But mom all the cool kids are doing it!
Hi Everyone! Hope you are all having a great day. Nice and sunny out here today and we are officially in the mid 60's! Woot! So a really lovely Spring day out here today.
We had another quick flash challenge in the Advanced Nail Stamping Group and this time it was either double stamping or double processed stamping. Double Processed stamping is one of those weird things where I'm just not sure why we are actually trying such a thing. It's basically getting an image within an image. There are a few videos on it out there on Youtube. I actually checked out the videos by both Nailstamp4fun and Opal Hazlett. Both of them of have some great videos on the process. I didn't find it hard to do at all but I used Mundo de Unas polishes and because they dry a little slower they might really be the key in getting this look to work.
So I wasn't too original in my design I basically did polka dots within roses. Yes I could have just as easily dotted after stamping my roses but I didn't have to with this technique. I decided to pair these double processed accent nails I did with my new 6 Harts Polish Swim Through The Deep Skies. While it isn't anything super great to write home about, this is a really cute mani!
6 Harts Swim Through The Deep Skies is a really lovely blue
Don't you just love that logo??!!!
Really a lovely color for both Spring and Summer
My accent nails are China Glaze Secret Periwinkle stamped with Mundo de Unas Navy. To get my double processed look I chose Uber Chic 1-03 for my polka dots and MoYou Pro 07 plate.
It's definitely cute. It was definitely easier than stamping little tiny dots inside of the roses but I'm still not sure what the real purpose of this process is
What I did find is that it seems best to use a larger blank type image with something really small. I did want to try to do neon leopard print inside of roses but I haven't tried it yet. When I do you'll be the first to know!
What do you think of this look? Have you tried double processed stamping? Do you think it's awesome or just ho hum?
Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

More from Messy Mansion!
Hi Everyone!! Happy Saturday! Oh my goodness I have some really pretty mani's to show you all today. I worked 3 more of the new plates I was given for quality check and just had to review these as well. I also got to use them with some of my favorite indie makers too!
First up I had a base on of Red Dog's Raspberry Tart which is a light purple with purple glitters and some nice micro white and green bar glitters. I stamped with what I like to call the reverse image plate from Messy Mansion plate MM49. I went straight for the starburst flower image with some Mundo de Unas Purple and ooooh it's so pretty!
I'm not going to lie this image covers up a lot of the pretty basecoat but up close you can see the hints of the glitter in the base
I really love this look!!
I think images like this are some of my very favorite
Can you see the glitters in there???
Here's the plate can you see what I mean by reverse images??
Can't wait to try something with the ladies face!!
Next up I had to really reach for something because I wanted to show off the Steampunk plate but honestly when it comes to steampunk I don't get. I just do not get it at all. But this did give me a chance to use my gorgeous Bat Crap Crazy polish from 6 Harts
She is a gorgeous brown beauty with some teeny micro holo glitters in her
Stamping is with MM43 and believe it or not I used a copper metallic from Avon to stamp with but to me it looks gold!
There's a lot of cool stuff on this plate so if you are into the whole Steampunk thing then trust me when I say this is up your alley!
I love the keys on this plate and I'm sure I will do more things with this baby
Last manicure to show you today is my favorite! And it surprises me because just like Steampunk I'm not really a paisley person either. I mean it's okay it's not great or fantastic and I don't know that I'd ever wear anything paisley at all but again I wanted to showcase this plate because it is pretty in paisley LOL! Check out MM48!
I chose one of my favorite Elevation's for the base--Definition: The Vivid Unknown. Then I pulled out my Mundo de Unas and stamped with Turquoise, Avocado and Mustard . . . drops mic!
Can I get a what? what?! Did you see this?!!!! OH MY GAHHHHHH!
This dark blue/teal base is the perfect backdrop for this nail art!
I mean where has paisley been all my life??? Right???!!!!!
I retract my I wouldn't wear paisley statement. I'm sure if I had this in a scarf I would wear the hell out of it!
And again I'll just say when it comes to stamping polish Mundo de Unas has no equal.
NO EQUAL!!!!
Here's the MM48 plate, it's all about the paisley!
As expected I had zero issues stamping with this plates. I have yet to find a Messy Mansion plate that does not stamp well every single time. These news plates are amazing and I applaud Julia and LilyAnna on their creativity!
Which one of my mani's is your favorite??? For me it is definitely the paisley print!
