Missing In Action!

Hi Everyone!  Looks like I've been missing in action for a bit.  July and August are some pretty depressing months for me having lost my sister in July and my dad in August so I tend to do the whole bury my head in the sand in the summer.  It's kind of odd how when you're sad you just don't feel like doing anything at all.  I always read.  Read, read, read and read actually but getting some art on my nails not so much.

So let me fill you in on what's been going on the past few weeks.  Well I am not officially addicted to the Fitbit!  Yes it's true!  I can't believe that when I first started walking I couldn't even go 2000 steps a day.  When I first started I actually could not walk a lot every day because I was just too worn out.  Now I am regularly walking at least 10000 steps a day and I've even made it to 15000 a couple of times.  My "off" days are not less then 10000.  And it really is showing.  I am down 39lbs and can't believe how much better I feel.  More energy and less pain in my back and joints.

I spent the day with my mom on July 15th--the day my beautiful sister, Lisa, died.  We had a really nice day sharing Lisa memories, going to lunch and then going to see Ghost Busters on the big screen.  Yep I ate a bucket of popcorn but instead of eating a lot of really bad for me food that day all I ate was the popcorn.  As always it was delicious.  Mom and I both thought the movie was great.  To all the naysayers out there the women only cast reboot was funny and fabulous.

This year's work outing was going to see the Kenosha Kingfisher's baseball team.  I sort of felt bad because almost all my coworkers had to drive up from Illinois but for me the baseball diamond is two blocks away LOL. I work a cute top and jeans--YES my mom bought me a cute pair of jean capris when we were together so I wore them to the game--and did this dry brush stroke mani to match the top.

When I first did this I thought I sucked!
But after I got the top on I couldn't believe how close all the colors were LOL
I like the dry brush stroke method because you can get a really unique look without a lot of effort
I should have had the forethought to take pics of this mani with the top but NOPE not smart enough to do that LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by--I hope you all have a fantastic day!

The Digit-al Dozen Does The Digit-al Dozen--Day 4!

Hi Everyone!  Oh my gosh this week has just been so much dang fun!  Everyday I can't wait to see who's done what and who copied who, it's just a great way for me to start my day!

So the one person I was absolutely positive I would never be able to recreate is the extremely talented Wondrously Polished.  I mean come on she does every thing free hand.  EVERY SINGLE THING SHE DOES IS FREE HAND!  Have you seen her stuff?!!! It's freaking amazing.  And she lures you in like Bob Ross because you look at her stuff and you go "oooh I bet I could do that"  News Flash!!! You cannot do it.  Trust me on this.

But she actually did something during our Neon week that I could do!  I mean don't get me wrong I stamped this sucker because come on now I'm not crazy but I was able to copy this and I am pretty dang happy about it!

Besides it works out great for the end of summer for sure!!

Here's my recreation of Wondrously Polished's Tribal mani from our Neon Week!
So the bad thing about this mani is I just finished it at 11pm which means no sunlight LOL.  Unfortunately this is the best lighting I could get indoors :(
I did get to try the dry brush method for this mani and it was the first time I ever did it!  I'm a fan!  I will definitely do it again
Lindsey has a lot of hand poses but I was able to try to recreate one of them
Here's the side by side pic!
Really I'm going to be sad to see this week end!
