Favorite Movie Mani Challenge

Hi Everyone!

The Advanced Nail Stamping Group is playing the Tag! You're It! game again and my friend Mona tagged with either based on my favorite book series or movie.  While I am an avid reader I decided to go with favorite movie this time. I have a few movies I just love and will gladly watch over and over and over again and The Man From Snowy River is definitely that movie.  I saw it the year it came out 1982. I took my cousin Debbie because her boyfriend had just left for the Marine Corps and she was really sad.  We both loved the movie and after seeing it I really started my love affair with all things Australian.  Lots of good memories for me around this movie.  My cousin Debbie married that MARINE John and they have 2 great kids and she's even a grandmother now eeep!  Maybe I should call her and see if she wants to do a movie night!

Here's the cover from the movie you can buy on Amazon
Here's what I came up with
I did a sharpie background and wished I had done more orange than yellow but I'm still pleased with how it turned out
Thumb looks a bit washed out though LOL

This was not an easy manicure.  I had to remove parts and add parts to images I had.  My lady had no long dress I had to put one on.  My cowboy had a cowgirl connected to him and I had to remove her and then add his arm.  My horse is actually smaller than the other images so I tried to add more mane and tail to make it look a little more even.  I guess that's the best thing about these challenges, they make you step outside the box

Here's a side by side shot of both

Did anyone of see this movie???  I just loved it!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a great weekend!

Dem Bones

Hi Everyone!  More Spring cleaning in the Fall going on here today.  I took the day off of work so we could get the place ready for the soon to be closed windows for the next 6 months.  I had really wanted to get the rugs steam cleaned but that looks like it's not happening until next weekend

I do have another mani to share with you today though.  In trying to keep up with the Bingo gamed in the Advanced Nail Group I had to do a skeleton mani and guess what???? I actually have a skeleton on my card!

I decided to use the very drop dead gorgeous Fathomless by Girly Bits as my base and then I stamped with BM413 and Mundo de Unas Mint.  This was pretty labor intensive because I had to place the skeletons just so to make them appear as is the are dancing

Fathomless is a dark forest green jelly with tons of hidden micro glitters
It is to die for!  And definitely one of my favorite polishes in the world!
How bout dem bones??!! Check out my dancing skeletons!
I'm sorting of liking this hand pose these days what do you think?
Can you just see all this fine glitter buried in Fathomless???? It's just stunning!
I know some people have said they have issues with this image from Bundle Monster but I have never had any issues with any of my BM plates

So this is sort of scary so I'm going to have to come up with some cute for tomorrow!  Hopefully I'll get  a mani in tonight!

Hope you all have a fantastic day!

Mummy Date Night!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Wednesday!  I think you all know I don't do cute too often but we had a challenge going on in the Advanced Nail Stamping Group and we had to do mummies.  It's hard to be original when it comes to a Mummy mani.  I mean come on we've all seen them and they are all pretty much the same with some eyes peeking out of some criss crosses.  So I wasn't feeling too excited about this challenge and really wanted to try to do something different.  That's how I came up with the Mummy Date Night!
I did some stamping with FUN and Messy Mansion for this one!
And I actually free handed the eyes lips and moustache!!!!

I think this one turned out pretty cute--what do you think????

My woodland adventure

Hi Everyone!  Happy Friday! Happy Friday! Happy Friday!  Woot! It's finally here!  It was a really nice and sunny day today albeit not hot at all.  In fact I don't know if we even hit 70 degrees here today.  I'm not sure what season we are in it's not really summer then again it's not really spring LOL!

Today I have another scenery mani to show off.   I think this one turned out really cute and we all know I don't really do cute too often!
I used my Born Pretty Store BP-L011 for this mani it's an adorable plate!
Check out the little hedgie on my thumb!
um don't mind the garbage disposal in the sink LOL I did this mani last weekend with the gals and didn't have my normal lighting!
I love the woods Up North as much as I love squirrels and deer and foxes and cute hedgies!

I find I really enjoy doing a full scene mani.  I like being able to tell a story as much as I love reading stories!

Thanks for stopping by!! Hope you all have a fantastic day!!

We're gonna need a bigger boat!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Hump Day!  Whew half way through the week!  I'm sort of glad.  I kind of feel like I just want a relaxing weekend BUT I have a lot of housework that needs to be done.  Here's to hoping it's nice super nice outside so I actually do it instead of doing stuff outside!

I have a  friend Sue, who used to be a coworker.  I loved working with her.  She and I used to do work 3rd shift together many moons ago and she would prey upon my fear of sharks.  Oh yes she would!  Every so often she would send me an email and this is when we worked IT together so every email had to be looked at in case it was something serious going on.  So she would covertly send me pictures of sharks!  I would have no idea that's what would be in these things until I opened the email to look at it and there she blows a huge great white would be on my screen.   Naturally she would fall off her chair laughing at me when I would let out a little scream.  It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt or gets their arm bitten off!  Ahhhhh I miss those days working with her.

Well she and I are still friends and do some chatting on Facebook these days and she still sends me pictures of sharks for flip sake!  She just sent me something the other day letting me know when shark week was.  As if I'm going to watch it for crying out loud!

I decided to do this mani today as a nod to Sue one of the funnest coworkers I've ever had!
Seriously I do not know how people can do a single thing in the ocean
Not one single thing!!!
I saw Jaws in the 7th grade and have not been in the ocean since!
The shark and birds are from Uber Chic UC 2-03. The water and boat are from a Pueen plate Dani had and I can't remember the number of it for the life of me!  This is what happens when you get together with the girls over the weekend.

What do you guys think of this scenery mani???? A far cry from my dancers isn't it??!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Shall We Dance?

Hi Everyone!  Happy Tuesday to all.  On Sunday I was lucky enough to spend the day with some of my nail polish friends.  We met through a group on Facebook over a year ago and have been having fairly regular get togethers to do our nails and eat yummy snacks.  Usually we just do one hand so we can try lots of new techniques or borrow plates we might not have.  It's just so much fun.

I wanted to work on the this week's theme in the Advanced Nail Stamping group which is a scene going across all 5 fingers.  This is a totally new challenge to us as we've never had that one before.  I mostly focused on doing scenery mani's while the other gals did whatever the heck they wanted LOL! Omg usually we die laughing over something and this time was no different.

Today I'm showing off the first of 3 across all 5 nails scenery mani's I did.  I used the new holo's from 10.1 Polish Disco Ball, It's Raining Men and Night Fever--all of these are named after 70's music/theme--for my gradient and then stamped with FUN20

As truly simply as this mani is I do believe it's quite striking.
Dancing couples on my thumb!
All all across my nails.  The only downside to doing nails at someone else's house is your lighting isn't what you're used to.
I really love how clean and beautiful this turned out.  What do you think?? Would you consider this a scenery mani or when you hear of scenery are you thinking of the great outdoors??

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

But mom all the cool kids are doing it!

Hi Everyone!  Hope you are all having a great day.  Nice and sunny out here today and we are officially in the mid  60's! Woot! So a really lovely Spring day out here today.

We had another quick flash challenge in the Advanced Nail Stamping Group and this time it was either double stamping or double processed stamping.  Double Processed stamping is one of those weird things where I'm just not sure why we are actually trying such a thing.  It's basically getting an image within an image.  There are a few videos on it out there on Youtube.  I actually checked out the videos by both Nailstamp4fun and Opal Hazlett.  Both of them of have some great videos on the process.  I didn't find it hard to do at all but I used Mundo de Unas polishes and because they dry a little slower they might really be the key in getting this look to work.

So I wasn't too original in my design I basically did polka dots within roses. Yes I could have just as easily dotted after stamping my roses but I didn't have to with this technique.  I decided to pair these double processed accent nails I did with my new 6 Harts Polish Swim Through The Deep Skies.  While it isn't anything super great to write home about, this is a really cute mani!
6 Harts Swim Through The Deep Skies is a really lovely blue
Don't you just love that logo??!!!
Really a lovely color for both Spring and Summer
My accent nails are  China Glaze Secret Periwinkle stamped with Mundo de Unas Navy.  To get my double processed look I chose Uber Chic 1-03 for my polka dots and MoYou Pro 07 plate.
It's definitely cute.  It was definitely easier than stamping little tiny dots inside of the roses but I'm still not sure what the real purpose of this process is
What I did find is that it seems best to use a larger blank type image with something really small.  I did want to try to do neon leopard print inside of roses but I haven't tried it yet.  When I do you'll be the first to know!

What do you think of this look?  Have you tried double processed stamping?  Do you think it's awesome or just ho hum?

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

In hurry? No worries part 3!!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Friday!  I have one more easy 30 minute mani to show you today and I'm excited about this one.  Today I am featuring an Elevation I finally bought (only 5 months later) and one of my all time favorite Born Pretty Store plates!
This is just so gorgeous a berry scattered holo with charcoal flakies
I love the name too! Although living in Wisconsin  we see pines and not palms here LOL!
And check out my stamping!!!
Yassssss it is the coveted Born Pretty Store BP-41
I wasn't sure what color to stamp over it to be honest with you.  My first thought was black, my friend Ashley said no not black!  Then she suggested pink so I went with the always bright and cheerful Mexican Pink from Mundo de Unas
Everyone seems to love this plate because it easily mimics a water marble or needle drag image.
I really love how this one turned out!

So there you have it the flash challenge ended yesterday and I was able to get 3 mani's in all of them under 30 minutes.  Prove to me and hopefully to others you can do something really awesome with limited time.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

In a hurry? No worries part 2!

Hi Everyone!  I've got another 30 minute manicure from the Advanced Nail Stamping Group's latest challenge.  This one is SOOOOOO pretty.  I decided to copy my whole "start with a great base" idea from yesterday so I chose the gorgeous Darling Diva Are You Medusa? Because You Make Me Rock Hard! and then just do some simple stamping over it.  Again just because you know how to do more doesn't always mean you should.  This is another simple stamping mani that took me less than 30 minutes to do and it's gorgeous!
Medusa is a gorgeous cherry red scattered holo.  I love bases like this, it's like they glow from within!
I wanted to let this beautiful base show as much as possible so simple stamping was what I wanted.
I really love my Born Pretty Store BP-L003 plate so it was a no brainer to grab this and then stamp with my fave gold China Glaze Passion
GLOWY!!!!!!! Gorgeous and glowy!
Another winner with this manicure for sure
And because Medusa is darn close to a one coater this took less time than yesterday's mani!
What do you think???? Isn't this just gorgeous?

Hope everyone is having a great day!  Thanks for stopping in!

In a hurry? No worries!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Wednesday!  The Advanced Nail Group has a 30 minute mani challenge going on. It's a challenge my friend Stephanie thought up because she likes to change her nails daily but doesn't always have the time as she is a busy wife and mother. With all the really cool things you can do these days it's nice to sit back and try something simple that still packs a bunch. This challenge goes on until the weekend so it will be interesting to see what I come up with each day.

First up I wanted to use my new Pahlish the really beautiful Billy Bones.  It's an awesome cream colored creme with some ultra chrome flakies in it. I decided to pair it with one of my favorite Mundos--Dark Grey and stamped with SB018.
This Pahlish is just to die for gorgeous
I wanted the base to be able to show through and I just don't pull out my Sugar Bubbles plates enough so this was just a match made in heaven!
In only 30 minutes! Can you believe it?!
Sometimes because there are so many things you CAN do in nail art you forget that simple can be beautiful
Can you see the flakies in this base? Oh Em Gee just beautiful!  Lots of copper and blue with flashies of violet.

One 30 minute mani challenge down! Hopefully I can do a couple more that are just as beautiful!

How much time do you usually spend on a manicure?  Do you tend to do something quick and easy or do you like to do something more time consuming and detailed?
