Happy New Year!

Hi Everyone and a very happy New Year's Eve Day to you all!  I am off work today--a big WOOT to that!  We've talked about getting out to see a movie but it is about 5 degrees outside with a windchill factor of negative 11 so um yeah that's not happening!  Instead I'm sitting inside and reorganizing my polish stash--looks like I'm getting rid of a lot of glitter right away to start out 2014 LOL!  I'm going to do some snuggling with the cats and chinchillas and do some reading and of course catch up on all my blogs!

I did do a pretty kick ass New Year's Eve mani and it matches my new bracelet and ring perfectly!

Here it is my first ever Waterfall mani and I just HAVE to thank Ashley from Ashley Is Polish Addicted because I did one first that just did not look good.  she helped me figure out exactly what was wrong with it and I just love this one!
I used black, white, silver and some China Glaze Sexagon for my sprakle!
Too cold to go outside for pics so we have to settle for shots in the bathroom!  I promise I was fully clothed at the time!
Here it is with some natural lighting by the window
And here it is with my new ring and bracelet!!! Woot!!!!
Definitely loving this easy yet dramatic look for New Year's!  The waterfall look has been around for awhile now but I do believe it was first created by the very fab and talented Sammi of The Nailasaurus.  If you haven't tried one yet why not make it the first mani you do of 2014?

I'd like to wish you all a very happy, healthy and joyous New Year!  I hope 2014 is good year for each of us.  Thank you for following me and taking time out of your very busy days to look at my nails!

Two is better than one!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!  I am riding high on the tails of the Packer victory yesterday! Wow! What a nail biter of a game!  Thankfully that's just a phrase and not something I really did!

Awhile back Sarah from Samarium's Swatches did a gorgeous layering combo of OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest and Elevation Polish Toubkal.   I finally wisened up and bought Toubkal during the great sale Elevation Polish had and boy am I ever glad I did!  It is just gorgeous!  I wanted to try to layering combo Sarah did and it turned out just stunning.
It's as if the two colors were meant for each other
I love these dark vampy colors!

I stamped over it using my new MoYou Suki 09 plate and man oh man!
I think this is truly stunning!
I am such a fan of the MoYou plates!
If you look at Sarah's pics you'll see Oktoberfest looking more purple, not sure if it's my skin tone or the camera but I get more of a red plum than I do a purple look.  It doesn't matter to me--I love this no matter the color!

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve!  I haven't really thought ahead to a mani yet!  I might try a waterfall mani as I haven't done one yet and I think they are so pretty.  What are you planning on your nails for New Year's?

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Ice, Ice, Baby!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Saturday!  I have the day to myself today and I feel like I really need it.  I need to head to the grocery store bu then that's it.  It can be another day of winding down for me, which I will thoroughly enjoy I'm sure!

I worked on this mani idea last night and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.  I wanted to do something with the frost image from Bunny Nails HD-F plate so I did a simple saran wrap mani using Sinful Colors Sugar Rush which is a pale blue and then white.  Then I stamped the imaged with SH Silver Sweep with the frost image
I decided to matte it up instead of going shiny with it
Many mornings our windows here have looked just like this LOL!
What do you think of this look?  Do you think is looks like frosty windows or more like tree branches?
Thanks for stopping!!  I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Glistening Snow

Hi Everyone!  I hope you are all doing well.  My life is finally sort of back to normal as my time at the bakery has ended until next year.  We are still crazy busy as my "normal" job but I am so thankful to be working I'll take the busy!  This week and next we are working with a skeleton crew to try to stay ahead and keep afloat LOL.  It's nice though, I thought I would be on my side of the building all alone but my coworker Karen has been in every day as well and she and I have been getting some time to talk as we don't do it all that often during normal hours of operation.  Her son surprised her with two maine coon kitties for Christmas!  A brother and sister.  I told her she better bring in some pictures today so hopefully she does!

I'm stopping at the bakery this morning to pick up a cherry kringle and some red velvet donuts for everyone and then hopefully this will be my last of the sweets!  I've been fluctuating between 2 and 4 lbs gained this holiday season.  Let's hope when it's all said and done it's only 2 LOL!  While I've enjoyed falling off the low carb lifestyle a bit I can't wait to get back to it and focus on a healthier me in 2014.

A while ago I ordered a bunch of Elevation polishes taking advantage of the sale throughout the month Lauren was having.   I think my choices were exceptional.  I snagged a gorgeous blacked blue called Ubsunur.  I didn't really have time for a great mani with it so I just sponged on some Sand & Stiletto's and WetnWild's At The After Party on the tips and headed out the door yesterday.  Last night I decided to stamp over it before taking it off and BAM!  I fell in love with this look so it's getting a 2nd day of wear!
I love how this turned out!  And here i was just sort of "messing" around with an idea.

I got a little over zealous with the glitter on my thumb though LOL!
I stamped with Messy Mansion's  MM30--really loving this plate from Julia
Look at how gorgeous that blue is from Elevation?  It applied like butter and is opaque in one coat!  I'm definitely going to try Ubsunur with some stamping as well!

Going into the weekend we have a HUGE Packer game ahead of us!  We play the Chicago Bears and it's a do or die situation for us both to get to the play offs.  It's going to be tense!  I might have to have some spiked egg nog or something that day!  I think my son and I are finally going to get to the new Hobbit movie too as we've been wanting to go since it came out!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend, and as always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry, Merry Christmas dear Readers!!!  To those of you who celebrate I share in the joy with on this day our Savior was born.  To those of you who don't--I wish for you peace and joy.  I am so thankful you have all brought me into your life through our shared love of nail polish!

Thanks to Bunny Nails HD-F I'm able to create a beautiful nativity mani to celebrate Christmas Day-the birthday of Jesus Christ
Last night I celebrated with my family and we had a wonderful time.  I see so much strength in my mother as she struggles to live a life without her husband and a daughter.  Where some might find a weakness at the struggle in trying to do the simplest things alone, I see nothing but immense strength.

Today I'm celebrating with my son and my furry friends.  Two days off in a row!  I don't even know what to do with myself!  Okay that's not true, I definitely know what to do with myself.  I'll be reading, reading and more reading, and looking at all the new nail polish I got over the past couple of weeks.  And I treated myself to the Dior Les Violets Hypnotiques collex.  I spent an ungodly amount of money on just 3 polishes, but I've been working very hard these past two months so I treated myself!

I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Oh Holy Night

Hi Everyone!  A very joyous and happy Christmas Eve day to you all!  I have the day off, the sun is shining and I'm getting ready to wrap a few presents I have bought for the family.  Tonight we will all be together celebrating the birth of our Lord.  Our family tradition has always been to spend Christmas Eve together, laughing, eating and opening presents.  The holidays are quite bittersweet with the loss of both my sister and my father.  But that doesn't mean we don't celebrate the holidays.  Christmas is about the birth of Christ which ultimately leads to his death, and only through his death and sacrifice am I given the ultimate gift of eternal life, where I will be reunited once again with my sister and my dad.  This is a joyous occasion and reason to celebrate for sure.

My mani today is nothing new.  It has been circulating around the blog world for a year now thanks to the awesome creativity of Julia from Messy Mansion.

My base is a coat of Essence Jacob's Protection with one coat of China Glaze fairy dust.  I sponged on some China Glaze Passion and then stamped with MM01.

Here's thumbie!
I wish all of you who celebrate Christmas a joyous and happy Christmas Eve.

Stained Glass Windows

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!  Looks like we survived our snow storm!  After all was said and done we got about 8 inches of snow.  My son was nice enough to brush off the car and shovel me out from the plow that plowed us all in lol!  Apartment living is never ideal but during the winter it's the worst!  The Packers lost yesterday but all was not lost.  I put together a very lovely manicure that reminds me so much of this time of year.

I did a stained glass look using MM01 and Red Dog Design's Doctor Donna.  I am just in love with this mani!
I Doctor Donna is a glitter topper full of various sized hex glitters of brown, grey, periwinkle and blue with the signature micro glitter Gina likes to use.  It is one of my favorite's from her!
I layered Doctor Donna over my dark grey franken Shibari MASTER and it's a match made in heaven!

I stamped using MM01 but wanted a darker white look so I had to go over it with a striping brush.  Here are some pics with flash, the sparkle is so pretty!
I really wanted this to turn out and I'm so pleased with the end result!
Check out thumbie!
Here's a picture of Doctor Donna over Shibari MASTER before I stamped.  Pure gorgey town!

Simply lovely!  I hope I can get some work done today!  I have a feeling I'll be staring at my nails more than working!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

SNOW DAY!!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Sunday!!! We have a lot of snow here today and it's still coming done.  We are under snow watch until 6 pm tonight and it's about 10 am right now.  I got to sleep in today!  No work for me! Woot!  I am pretty happy to be able to just rest and relax today.  Thankfully almost all my Christmas shopping is done, I only need to pick up a couple of things from Barnes & Noble and then wrap aka put into gift bags because I can't wrap for shizz!

I sat down last night and did a manicure in preparation for the big snow fall today and thankfully I was not disappointed in either--the snowfall nor the mani!

 Look how sparkling it is!!!
I used a base of Zoya Twila over Orly Sweet Peacock
I've had Twila for well over a year and never even tried it!  UG!  I really need to make my New Year's Resolution I will wear all nail polishes I bought in 2013 and haven't worn yet!  Maybe by the end of the year I'll get caught up LOL!
I stamped using both BM323 and Bunny Nails HD-F so really just a simple mani!

And here's some pics of the snow!
This is the scene across the street.  They haven't even plowed yet!
Here's the back yard
and here's my little car!  Buried!  Not too bad yet though we'll see how it looks in a few hours LOL!
I hope where ever you are you are safe!  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Let it Snow!

Hi Everyone!  I hope everyone is doing well!  I'm hanging in there!  16 hour days are starting to wear on me just a bit and I know I'll be glad to get over the Holiday hump!  I am sure am thankful for glitter polishes when I don't have time for nail art and I'm especially glad for Red Dog Designs new Doctor Who inspired polishes!  Gina has outdone herself with an excellent collection she put together for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary.

I picked up several in the collection and today I chose to put The Snowmen over blue for a super cute snowy mani!
The Snowmen is a cute glitter topper with snowflake and snowmen shaped glitter in addition some micro shimmer glitters and various sized white glitter.
I had to make do with the lighting I had available at midnight LOL!
How fun is this?!  A super cute look with hardly any effort!!!

Thanks for stopping by and hanging in there with me during my sporadic posting this month!

Come on baby let's do the peppermint twist!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!  My weekend got a little pole axed by the flu.  I was sick Friday and all of Saturday and did not feel safe enough to be away from the bathroom for more than 20 minutes until about 8 pm on Saturday night!  UG.  We missed the Hobbit--the Desolation of Smaug on Saturday because of it.  Looks like we'll just go next weekend though so I'm okay with that.

Since I was feeling better on Sunday and only worked at the bakery on Sunday I had some time for nail art!  I did a cute little peppermint twist look with MoYou Festive 03 and Butter London's Knees Up and CND Vinylux Cream Puff

Something simple but sort of sassy for this Monday morning!

I hope everyone is surviving the winter elements all right so far!  And I sure hope no one gets sick during Christmas!

Thanks for the stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Digital-Dozen Does Red, Gold & Green

Hi Everyone!  I had a pretty late night last night but I'm still trudging along!  I have a pretty simple albeit cute mani today for the last day of the red, gold & green challenge
I used the lovely Zoya Chyna and Nails Inc Emerald Park and of course my favorite gold, China Glaze Passion for this super simple mani
I had this mani on yesterday and got so many compliments on it.  It always amazes me how the simplest mani's can bring the most compliments sometimes!

Both jobs are pretty crazy busy right now but I am taking some time off tomorrow.  It's my son's birthday--we are having a day watching the new Hobbit movie and eating Chinese food!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

This winds up Red, Gold and Green week, make sure you check out everyone else's last day!

Digit-al Dozen Does Red, Gold & Green

Hi Everyone!! Christmas came early for me and I got my 6 Red Dog Doctor Who inspired polishes in the mail!  Woot!  I love them all!  I was so happy I could do a mani with one of them for the challenge this week!  I came up with a very lovely wibbly wobbly timey whimey mani today for sure!!

I used Red Dog Designs A Christmas Invasion for some accent nails with my stamping!  It is chock full of star shaped glitter with red and green bell glitter, red candy can glitter and red, green and gold circle glitters.  PERFECT for this time of year!
I added some stamping with my Messy Mansion MM30 plate and my MoYou Christmas 03 plate
You just can't get cuter than this!

Wow only one day left of the challenge!  I've stayed pretty traditional with Christmas mani's for Christmas colors, wonder what I'll come up with on the last day?!!!

Digit-al Dozen Does Red, Gold & Green

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Hump Day!  How's your week going so far?  Mine is going surprisingly great!  I'm holding up quite well in my 15 hour work days and still managing to get enough sleep!  I even lost 2lbs which is shocking considering the fact I've eaten a red velvet donut every single day at the bakery LOL!

I got some amazing nail mail today!  I got my Doctor Who Red Dogs, my Messy Mansion plates and a few of the nail spikes I ordered!  Woot!  I can't wait for the weekend so I can play around with them!

Today I have a lovely mani in all matte!  I pulled out my Zoya Veruschka and Posh and paired them with Paintbox Polish His Chosen One.  I put on a matte topcoat over His Chosen One to keep the matte look and here's the beautiful results

His Chosen One is a lovely beige with gold flakies and I think it looks fabulous with a matte topcoat don't you???
I spruced this look up a bit with some stamping BMH03 and Bunny Nails HD-F
How cute is this????!!!!
Really lovely I think and quite traditional for a Red, Gold & Green mani!
I guess there is nothing wrong with being Christmasy near Christmas!!

Be sure you check out what my friends have all done for today!
