The Digit-al Dozen Does Winter Wonderland--Snowflakes

Hi Everyone!  My last day is late--I've put in 85 hours this week so I'm dragging my rump just a bit  BUT I still have a smile on my face!

For my last day I just went simple with China Glaze Sexagon and LA Girls 3D in  Brilliant Blue and some snowflake stamping from BM H20 and MoYou Festive 02 & 03.  I stamped with Mundo de Unas white and navy--and perfection!
This is so simple yet just gorgeous!
I don't know about the rest of you but I just loved this week!  I think it was one of the best themes we've had!

A lotta dots

Hi Everyone and welcome to Friday! Woot!!!!  On our for the weekend is seeing the new Star Trek Movie--Into Darkness.  I'm an old school Star Trek gal--I've watched them all but still hold a special fondness for the original cast and crew.  Chris Pine is certainly no hardship to look at though!

I've been slacking in my Pinterest Recipe of the week meals so I'm also planning on rectifying that this weekend as well.  I might even tackle a meal AND a dessert!

I've got a mani today I feel like I got a little carried away with.  At first I just had some nice striping with Illamasqua Muse, white, and China Glaze He's Going In Circles but then I felt it needed some dots
It's still pretty cute but suddenly it seems so "busy" to me
I cannot get over how much I love Illamasqua Muse though, it had been on my wish list forever!
It's pretty much the best teal in the entire universe!
I still haven't mastered the larger to smaller dots thing yet though.  It's just too hard to keep up an easy flow with my movement.  I'll have to keep working on it!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!  It's Prom here and my nephew and his lovely girlfriend are going.  We do have some rain in the forecast so let's just hope it doesn't ruin picture day OR all those well coiffed girls going to prom!

Butterflies are free and . . . blue

Hi Everyone!! Hope everyone is having a great day.  I threw together this lovely holo butterfly mani and by threw together I mean it took me HOURS!  That is no lie.  I had no issues whatsoever with my gradient  the lovely China Glaze He's Going In Circles and LA Girls 3D Effect in Brilliant Blue, my issue was the analness that is me when it comes to stamping lol!  I got my Nail Craze NC01 butterfly wing plate FINALLY--I've been wanting it forever and I was finally able to order it!  I just had a lot of issues with placing it on my nail.  I didn't like it if too much black showed up, I didn't like it if not enough black showed up and don't get me started on how much dotting needed to go on the wing tips--it wasn't pretty people LOL!

Finally after nearly 3 hours I had 10 fingers I was happy with!
This really is quite a lovely mani
I can't wait to get my Jades in from Ninja Polish so I can do an orange and red  holo gradient with this image plate!!

All in all it was a dirty job but someone had to do it!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Purple Up!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Monday!  In addition to it being tax day it's also Purple Up!  April is the month to support military children.  April is a VERY busy month.  Like the other awareness issues going on in April this, too, is very important.  Men and women in the military, who fight to keep us safe, and our children safe, are separated from their children.  This isn't an easy life for a soldier even more so for the children they leave behind.  While other kids are going to the movies and Disneyland, sitting down to a dinner table, and getting tucked in at night, a military child who's mom or dad is on deployment has to settle for letters, texts, and computer skyping.  Just as their mom and dad are strong warriors they are strong warriors too--living and waiting until they can be reunited with their parent.

Today I'm wearing a purple mani in honor and support of thousands of military children!
I love my creme and holo mani from yesterday so much I thought I'd do a half moon mani with Zoya Pinta and China Glaze Octa-Gone-Wild and Zoya Caitlin and China Glaze Visit Me In Prism
Too bad it's cloudy otherwise I'd try to some outdoor pics!
When you see a soldier and thinking of thanking him or her, please take a moment to realize there often so much more they sacrifice for us--then think of child or children they had to leave behind for us and how difficult it must be for children living without them.

I proudly support our military men and women AND their amazing kids!!!

It's snowing!!! So it must be Spring!

Hi Everyone!!! It snowed a bit last night so you know what that means---that's right it must be Spring! UG!  Freaking snow in April are you kidding me???  Today's theme in Adventure's In Stamping is Spring colors.  I think we all know I'm not a huge pastel fan although lately I've been seeing some absolutely gorgeous pastel gradients!  I might have to change my way of thinking--just a bit lol!

I decided some pastels I have and haven't used much of are the China Glaze Kaleidoscopes.  I LOVE THEM!  They are my favorite holos EVER.  Give me a "chunky" holo over a fine linear any.single.day.of.the.week.

I wanted to do the Kaleidoscopes and their "counterpart" cremes.  I matched up China Glaze It's My Turn with Zoya Farah, China Glaze Octa-Gone-Wild with Zoya Pinta, China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out with OPI Just Groovy, and China Glaze He's Going In Circles with OPI Mermaid's Tears.

Here are shots of the progression

I applied the cremes then the Kaleidoscopes
Then I stamped over them

It reminds me more of Hawaii than Spring LOL!
I love this skittle though, and I used to hate skittles!
I guess we can always change our mind!
I have to say the color that surprised me most
was Zoya Farah.  OMG for a nude it's gorgeous!!!
Paired with It's My Turn it's downright beautiful!
I used Mash-43 to stamp with, I love these little Hawaiian flowers.

Maybe if I ever visit my friend Jim from Men and Nail Polish this is what I'll wear!

I liked the match up between the holo and the cremes.  I'm definitely going to do something like this again, perhaps a half moon mani!
Thanks for stopping by!! Wherever you are I hope you're warm!!

Jinnie In A Bottle er Skittle!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Weekend!  I had so much fun doing the Crumpet Nail Tart's 31 Day Challenge I've decided to move into the Sat-ART-Day club as well!  Today's theme is amethyst skittle.  I decided to haul out my mass amounts of purple holos and see what I could come up with.  Whenever I wear holo I think of my sweet friend Jin of Superficially Colorful.  That's why I named my post Jinnie in a bottle lol!

I hauled out some Color Clubs old and new, and some China Glaze Kaleidoscopes for this purple holo skittle.
Index is Color Club Fashion Addict, Swear is China Glaze Octa Gone Wild, Ring is Color Club Eternal Beauty and Pinkie is Color Club Wild At Heart
You can say whatever you want about the new Color Club holos and fall all over them but I still think the best holos in the entire universe are the China Glaze Kaleidoscopes.  Why can't they bring those back?????
Thumbie is wearing China Glaze Visit Me In Prism which is a lovely pale lilac.

It's below zero here this morning so needless to say I didn't go outside for pics of this baby.  Here's a shot with the flash
I wish they would make more dark holos like Wild At Heart it's such a lovely color

I'm off for the day to help out my mom.  She's still on the mend from her kidney infection and wouldn't you know it she's now got a horrid cold on top of it!  She's positive the reason so many people in the Midwest and especially Wisconsin are sick because it hasn't been cold enough here to kill off germs.

I don't think I'm done with this mani.  I think when I get back this afternoon I might stamp on it--we'll see.  If I do I will definitely update the post!

As I said earlier it's below zero AND it snowed here! UG!  Not looking forward to the upcoming week as it's supposed to be in the low 20's and snow everyday!  I guess I was right to haul out the holo goodness! LOL!

Hope you all all a fantastic weekend!

Here's the rest of the Tart's Amethyst Skittle!!

Aaaaaaaand the winner is????!!!!!

Hi Everyone!  Yesterday I had the whole day to myself!  It was the first time in over a month I didn't have to work AND didn't have to go anywhere or do anything.  How did I spend it?  Well let me tell you I didn't even shower or get dressed!  I lazed around in my pajamas all day long and it felt darn good! I tried to sleep in but that didn't happen.  Actually I didn't sleep in today either but that's okay.

Yesterday I worked on coming up with an idea for what mani to wear for New Year's Eve.  I'm not going out, but I will be going over to my little sister's for a fun party.  Today I thought I'd show you the designs I came up with that didn't win and then tomorrow I'll post the winner!

First up is my gradient using A England Bridal Veil, China Glaze Let's Do It In 3D and Sexagon.  I love, love, love the Kaleidoscopes.  I prefer them over any other holo.
I did an accent nail using my holo hex and black glitter franken, Midnight's Master.
Since I didn't have any true fireworks design on a plate I stamped using BM02

This one turned out just as I had envisioned, but I had a few other ideas so I kept on going.

Next up is my gold and silver mani!  I started with OPI Designer DeBetter and then gradiented with Funky Fingers Platinum Record.  My accent nail is Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and Maybelline Bold Gold. I stamped with the cute "spermy" balloons on BM20

My nails are much too long for the first Bundle Monster set but I managed to double stamp which made me happy.
Here's a pic in the shade, it's still quite lovely even if it's not sparkly!

My next design had no stamping whatsoever.  I hauled out the precious OPI DS Original for the 2nd time since I've owned it, which is a little over 2 years.
I just did a little tape mani based on a picture I'd seen way back when on Chloe's Nails.  It's been getting pinned again recently which prompted me to try it for the first time
This one didn't really wow me, but got a few likes from my FB friends.  The purple I used along with DS Original is my very fave purple creme which is Nails Inc Vicious

My last attempt before the winner was another mani from a pic I'd seen on Pinterest.  I just loved this when I saw it.  Unfortunately I don't have the Summer Cheeky set so I had to settle for the stars on BM21
I think I did a fantastic job double stamping those babies!
I chose Nfu-Oh 51 to both wear and stamp with.  It stamps darn good I think!

So there are all the "failures"  What do you think?"  Do any of them float your boat?

Tomorrow I'll be posting the winner mani I chose--it turned out really good!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
