The Digit-al Dozen Does Rainbow--Birds

Hi Everyone!  So exciting news again today--I hit another 10k steps! Woot!  Yes I know not everyone is excited about the news but I sure am.  I honestly  did not have it in me yesterday and felt like I really overdid it.  I did manage to hit almost 7k yesterday so today I just focused and got er done.  I did have to take some Advil which I try to avoid--I actually try not to take any meds if I can help it but today I needed the big guns.  I feel pretty good too not too sore or worn out

I feel so good I was able to come home and finish my manicure!  I painted them last night and stamped today.  At first I thought I would have to freehand this design but at the last minute I found the exact scene I needed on one of my Marianne XXL plates  EUREKA!  I love it when I don't have to freehand.

My base is all pixie dusts but I topcoated them.  Hauled out some of my Zoya and Julie G's
When trying to think outside the box for Rainbow week I did some googling for different rainbow variations and I came across a picture I just loved that's how this mani came to light
I'm happy to say I did a pretty good job recreating it!  Here's the picture I found
I was totally going to try to freehand this but let's be honest we all know my freehand skills are not good.  Thankfully I found this cute bird scene on the Marianne's XXL 4 plate so I used that instead! WHEW CRISIS AVERTED!

Here's a picture of my mani with the picture.  I do love how this one turned out
It's been a pretty stellar week for rainbow mani's.  Did you see Shelly's matte watermarble?! OMG it is really cool.  You have to love to hate Shelly sometimes for her awesome marble skills

The Digital Dozen Does Red, Gold & Green

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Monday!  We had our first snow storm of the season yesterday!  I was caught completely unaware as I went into work super early and then drove down to Pleasant Prairie to have lunch with my fab friends Stephanie and Dani.  But nothing can keep us fab nail friends apart not even some inclement weather!  Luckily no one was drinking like a complete moron in the snowfall.

Today kicks off the Digital Dozen's Red, Gold and Green week.  I don't know about you but whenever I think of those colors together it just screams Christmas to me.  I decided to switch things up a bit and use the colors but did a mani far from Christmas!  In fact this mani is FIERCE!

As you can see I kept with the color theme of Red, Gold & Green but instead of Christmas I went with leopard print!
I used some of the Julie G Gumdrops for this mani, the new ones from the Christmas Collection.  The gold is Gift of Gold, the red is Ho Ho Ho, and the green is Mistletoe.  I stamped with my favorite leopard print image ever, BM221
I think it's the perfect leopard print image!
I really love this twist on the red, gold and green colors--Christmas Colors not your mama's Christmas mani LOL!

Man oh man this month might kill me.  I am working alot of long hours and my old body is starting to give out on me but I think no matter what my nails are going to look good LOL!

I wonder if anyone else strayed from the norm with this color scheme--be sure to check them out and see if I was the only one!

Simply Sparkly

Hi Everyone!  Do you ever get so lazy you just paint over the top of a mani instead of removing it?  I find this happens to me often.  The other day when I did my love letters mani I was trying to come up with the next great idea and I just couldn't.  Instead of removing it I grabbed one of my WetnWild Coloricon polishes--Speak When Spoken To and went over the Zoya Pinta with it.  I really liked the effect and decided just to add a textured gradient as the accents.  The results were a lot more than I could have hoped for!  Very blingy with hardly any effort!

Speak When Spoken To has a pink to blue shift to it so I thought a gradient with Julie G Blueberry Fizz and Crushed Candy was a great choice for a couple of accent nails!
Here's some pics with flash

Sometimes being lazy is definitely the way to go!

I'm starting to feel like I need every single sparkly textured polish there is!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Round and Round!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Friday!  I'm so glad it's Friday because I feel exhausted! Since it's Mother's Day coming up this weekend should be all about me and letting me get some rest and relaxation LOL!

I did some stamping over another one of the Julie G Gumdrops and I just LOVED it!  I really love these textured polishes, apparently I just cannot say that enough!

This time I used Rock Candy which is a dusty teal
I really love how stamping looks over these types of polishes!
It gives it a much "edgier" look I think
Check out all that sparkle!!!!!
Even thumbie looks great!
I haven't ordered the summer Pixie Dusts yet from Zoya or the OPI Bond Sand's but I just got in a few Kiko Sugar Mats!! Can't wait to try them out!
Oooops I almost forgot to say I stamped using RA-113!!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday--Chopsuey Nails!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!  Today I have a MSMD mani with a twist.  I've been lamenting all the untried polishes I have for days now.  I just don't get how/why this happens.  Why do I keep buying more when I'm not even wearing what I already have.  I made a promise to myself to stop doing this--I mean what good are buying them when you aren't even going to wear them?

So this brings me to the lovely Julie G Gumdrops I have.  Yep I got them over a month ago and yes I've worn a few but I haven't worn them all yet!  Looking at the colors of them all lined up I thought about some sort of sunset nails.  I've already done a red or orange gradient with them but what about something different?  I googled sunset nails for some inspiration and BAM I ran across this picture that was SO different than the standard sunset scene.  I found it on Chopsuey Nails.  I decided to go for the same look only using textured polishes instead of regular.  I chose Sugar Rush, Tangerine Dream and Blueberry Fizz for my gradient with some added help from Zoya Kerry.   Then I did some freehand art and a bit of stamping.
I'm surprised it wasn't harder to freehand on this textured stuff!
I put another tree on Thumbie too!
This is the picture that inspired me
What do you think?  How'd I do?

There's such a huge difference in these shimmery textured polishes.  I really love them, the flat creme's not so much--here's a pic of the mani in the shade
This colors aren't even the same!!! Here's the same pose in the light
Bright and vibrant!  How'd I do with the recreation?  Don't you just love that whale tail???!!!!  There's so much you can do with these textured polishes--I can't wait to get more of them!  Oh Oh!!! There I go again!

Here's a picture of the polishes I used!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Pretty Pretty Peacock!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Friday!  I am super happy it's Friday!  We are "supposed" to have some nice weather this weekend aka sun "could" be out!  I still have quite a few of the China Glaze Hologlams to try as well as a couple of holo Layla's I haven't worn yet, so here's hoping I can find the time to do something with them this weekend!

Today I went with a cool textured gradient.  I really love the Julie G Gumdrops I have, they are just SO cool and you can do so much with them.
Here I did a "rough" gradient, basically I just painted them directly onto my nail, no taping involved
This is Blueberry Fizz, Rock Candy and Crushed Candy

I stamped over it with BM212, one of my fave Bundle Monster images
I love stamping on the textureds
It really gives them an extra pop!
And this image doesn't take away from the pretty gradient
I love the Textured polishes SO much i think this weekend I'll go in search of the Bond girls!

What do you all think--are you a fan of the textured polishes?

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Roughed Up Ruffian!

Hi Everyone!  Today I'm sporting a couple of things I really love--a Ruffian and a textured polish!  I hauled out one of my OPI Suedes and one of the Julie G Gumdrops and got to work.  I chose OPI Russian Navy and Julie G Blueberry Fizz.  The result turned out better than I had hoped!
I don't know about any of you but if OPI was going to bring something back I sure wish it was either the Suedes or the original holo Designer Series.  But truthfully I really want the Suedes back!  OMG I love them!  Can you just imagine how gorgeous some bright summer colored Suedes would look???
I hope to work opposite for this look and put Russian Navy on first and then using a 3 hole punch reinforcement tab I added the Blueberry Fizz
I like this mani alot but felt I got a bit too much Blueberry Fizz on the swear finger!  Don't you hate it when one finger can ruin it for the rest?
I do love the look of these two types of finishes together though--what do you think?

I really love the textured polishes.  I have some of the Kiko's on their way to me and I really think I need the Bond's and the Pixie Dusts . . . OIY!  That's a lot of gritty polishes LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Feeling Hot! Hot! Hot!

Hi Everyone!  I was lucky enough to have my polish "wifey" snag me all the Julie G Gumdrops!  Living in Wisconsin we do not have a single Rite Aid here. Usually this is something I can live with as we do have a Walgreen's on every corner.  Every. Single. Corner.  I was so excited when she snagged these for me.  I really am loving the textured polishes alot.  I messed around with a few of them and came up with this lovely little gradient.
I used all three of the orange/red polishes in the collection
Tangerine Dream, Sugar Rush and Hot Cinnamon
They gradiented like a dream.  I had to use the "lazy" method though painting directly onto the sponge
And of course just the for the heck of it I did some stamping
I hauled out the good old DRK-C and added some chili peppers!  I love how you can stamp on the textures and your stamped image is textured too!

Are you into these textured polishes at all?  I have a few Kiko's on their way to me too AND I love the look of the new OPI Bond Girls as well as Zoya's Summer Pixie Dust collection so I'll be stocking up some textured polishes over the next couple of months.  EVEN THOUGH I SAID I'M NOT BUYING ANYMORE POLISH!!! LOL!

The weather has been slowly warming up here, hopefully this mani will help do the trick and we might have a decent weekend coming up!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
