The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture--the greatest sacrifice of all

Hi Everyone--a blessed Good Friday to you all.  For those of us who are Christian today is Good Friday, the day when our Savior took upon the sins of the world and died in order to give us everlasting life.  When I was a young girl growing up I knew nothing about making sacrifices.  You get to live a pretty carefree life when you're young.   As you grow older you start to understand choices and sacrifices and how in life sometimes we don't have a choice and sacrifices have to be made.

Most of us don't have huge life altering choices and sacrifices to make.  Sometimes it's simply I don't have enough money for the this expensive Dior polish so instead I'll buy this similar color in a cheaper brand.  Sometimes it's well we have to eat this month so no nail polish for me.  It could even be do I want to stay up and watch every episode of Doctor Who with David Tennant or do I want to get some sleep?

The sacrifice Jesus made on Good Friday was to die for all of us, so that we would have eternal life--something I never feel quite worthy of, but something I am so grateful for.  The sacrifice he made for me means one day I will be reunited with my sister and my dad--this sacrifice means so much more to me now that I have lost part of my family.

So today, on this last day of Texture week for the Digit-al Dozen I am able to express in my heart and on my fingers this joyous day
He was the one true King and they mocked him by putting a crown of thorns upon his head, yet still he died to save them.  Still he died to save us all.

I hope you all enjoyed Textured Week and seeing our new faces to the Digit-al Dozen group.  I think it's been one of our best weeks ever!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture--Too Simple Or Wonderously Simple?

Hi Everyone!  I decided to shoot for something simple today to showcase that even something out of our comfort zone doesn't have to be large and all up in someone's face.  Lately I've been obsessed with watching You Tube videos of all those fabulous talented ladies who are doing roses or flowers or just 3D art in general out of acrylic powder.  They make it look SO easy.  I thought about learning how to do it just for this challenge.  Then after about a week of watching tutorials and feeling totally ready to do it I started laughing.  I mean come on?!  Who do I think I am?!  I can't even free hand for crying out loud.  There is no way I'm going to be able to do some 3D nail art with acrylic.  So I bought some lovely rubber roses!  Yes rubber!  They look so pretty too, they have depth and dimension to them and I found they made this mani look really pretty despite being so simple.
I chose one of my new Rescue Beauty Lounge's to use as a base for this mani.  Forgotten Road, it is SO lovely!
I think these little rubber roses which I found on Amazon are perfect.  They are a blend of white and blue to give it some depth
I did have to use super glue to apply as just sticking these in seche vite didn't work, I lost one doing dishes!
I think this is really beautiful.  What do you all think?  Are you a fan of 3D nail art on nails?

Let's see what everyone else has done for today!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture--Is there really a house in New Orleans?

Hi Everyone!  Happy Wednesday!  A good thing the work week is almost over, a sad thing our texture week for the Digit-al Dozen is almost over!  I have enjoyed this week so much and I think everyone is just doing a splendid job so far!  So many great ideas!  Jacki from The Adventures In Acetone is a friend of mine and I kept trying to tell her not to post her awesome mani's on the days I do mine so I can shine for a change LOL!  Truth is EVERYONE has had the greatest mani's this week!  OMG gradients to die for, people thinking way outside the box, it's just been awesome!  Even one of our noobs Sheila from The Pointless Cafe was worried she wouldn't be cutting the mustard and she has done a fabulous job.  I feel very blessed to be in such great company with this group.

That being said up next for me in this challenge is a textured gradient!  You know I love my gradients, you know I love my texture, so why wouldn't I put them both together???  With some stamping of course!
I wanted a little different look so I went for a non textured with some textureds for this gradient look
I did a base coat of Sinful Colors Pull Over and then gradiented with Julie G Hot Cinnamon and Tangerine Dream and stamped with BM402
I think the look has a nice sunrise feel to it.  At first I thought the cream with the textured gradient looked odd but it really grew on me.  I'm sure I'll be doing this again.

Let's head over to see who is wowing me today with their awesome mani's!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture--Get The Flock Out Of Here!

Hi Everyone!  Soooooo how about that kick off to Digit-al Dozen Does Textured yesterday?  Oh my goodness we had some fabulous looking mani's yesterday!  I both love and dread these challenges for that very reason--you really have to keep on your toes with these ladies!

So thinking outside the box again today I was like "what can I do that's totally cool????"  I don't want to not be the cool kid at school!  Keeping along the textured line I decided to see if I could do a gradient with some flocking powder.  And yes, yes I could do a gradient with flocking powder . . . check it out!
How's this for some texture???  But wait!  It get's better!  I stamped over it!
ROAR!  How cool is this????!!!!
No a very blended gradient but the stamping ties it together well
I think this one is pretty hot if I do say so myself!
Okay I started off with a studded mani and raised them flocking powder mani let's see what I'm up against today!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture--Let'e Get This Party Started!

Hi Everyone!

It's Digit-al Dozen week AND we have some new faces so OMG I really need to amp up my game!  I felt like I had to pull out all the stops on this one.

I'm sure many of you know I am a HUGE Elvis fan.  Recently I got a clutch on ebay that is not only Elvis, it's got a leather cuff attached by a chain AND studs on it!  OMG this is the perfect purse for me.  So I decided to do a mani to match my purse so I could get off the Texture week in style!

Here's my new purse!

I think I did a spot on job with the replication!
These studs are just so awesome!
Talk about texture!
How about pointy for a texture???!!
I used OPI Atomic Orange, Sinful Colors Wisp and Zoya Robin for my polish
The studs I found on ebay
I've got a few coats of Seche Vite on to keep these babies in place!
What do you think?  How'd I do?  Don't you just love my new purse??? Look at those bedroom eye on The King!

Okay so I've thrown down the gauntlet!  Let's pop over to see what my friends have come up with for Textured Week!
