Oh Holy Night

Hi Everyone!  A very joyous and happy Christmas Eve day to you all!  I have the day off, the sun is shining and I'm getting ready to wrap a few presents I have bought for the family.  Tonight we will all be together celebrating the birth of our Lord.  Our family tradition has always been to spend Christmas Eve together, laughing, eating and opening presents.  The holidays are quite bittersweet with the loss of both my sister and my father.  But that doesn't mean we don't celebrate the holidays.  Christmas is about the birth of Christ which ultimately leads to his death, and only through his death and sacrifice am I given the ultimate gift of eternal life, where I will be reunited once again with my sister and my dad.  This is a joyous occasion and reason to celebrate for sure.

My mani today is nothing new.  It has been circulating around the blog world for a year now thanks to the awesome creativity of Julia from Messy Mansion.

My base is a coat of Essence Jacob's Protection with one coat of China Glaze fairy dust.  I sponged on some China Glaze Passion and then stamped with MM01.

Here's thumbie!
I wish all of you who celebrate Christmas a joyous and happy Christmas Eve.

Summer Challenge--Go Goth for Emily!

Hi Readers!  Today's Sunday Challenge is all about my friend Emily!  She LOVES Goth and she kept wanting it for the Sunday challenge and it kept getting out voted so today it's all about her beloved Goth lol!  I'm not going to lie Readers I was like what the french is Goth?  Well I can tell you one thing it's not--it's not the wreck of a remake Tim Burton did with Dark Shadows!  OMG do not even get me started on that!  He completely and totally ruined what was a fantastic tv series for piss sake! ARG!

OOPS I was getting started so back to the nails!

Okay so since I didn't really know what condoned Goth I decided to just go for some dark colors and again I want to smack myself!  I FINALLY hauled out the Vampire's Love Essence's I got a bazillion years ago and used The Dawn Is Broken--which I have used before and Hunt Me If You Can which is the most incredible gorgeous black on the planet I think.  Go lord Readers if you have some stuff in your untrieds haul 'em out!

First I started with a coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wet Cement.  For my gradient I used Essence The Dawn Is Broken and Hunt Me If You Can.  This is a kick ass gradient!
The Dawn Is Broken and Hunt Me If You Can have buried shimmer in them that is so delicious!  The Dawn Is Broken has micro dark blue pieces in it and Hunt Me If You Can has micro prismatic shimmer.
Okay here's where I drew a complete blank.  What did I want to do here?  Well what I wanted to do was this I wanted to do some dark clouds creeping over a full moon with a scary house with possibly some bats BUT then my fab friend Sarah from Chalkboard Nails reminded me I had the new Bundle Monster set--yes I got them on Friday and I hadn't even opened them yet.  So this is what I did instead!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you see that Readers???? BARB WIRE!!!! OMG!  Before the 3rd set from Bundle Monster came out this was me to them "I sure would love a barbed wire image" "Hey it would be great to see a barbed wire image" "oooh maybe you guys could do a barbed wire image" And as you can see someone listened to me!!!!! The barbed wire is from plate BM323
Is this Goth? um probably not.  Could this possibly be Goth meets Cowboy?? Maybe.  I don't really know/care what it is, it's HAWT!  I posted this on Bundle Monster's Facebook wall and got some nice compliments.  My fave one was from Cris of Let Them Have Polish she called it bad ass!! You know when Cris tells you you're mani is bad ass it's a good one so now my head is HUGE and i worry about getting out the door!
I'm not really sure what Emily is going to think of it though LOL!  I told her it was going to be the best of both our worlds colliding!  Anyone who knows me knows I love me some hot cowboys!!!! Barbed wire always reminds me of hard working  mega sexy cowboys.   Oh who am I kidding it just reminds me of cowboys period they don't even have to be mega sexy!
The new Bundle Monster set is fantastic!  Just like the two previous sets the plates are perfectly etched and the designs unique and fun.  The images are nice and large and should fit most fingers.  I didn't even have to worry about getting all of the image to fit my thumb.  The 3rd set is similar to the 2nd set in that there are more full size nail images rather than small separate images.  The only downside to this is if you only have one set it's hard to layer.  SO I recommend owning all three sets LOL!
Here's a picture of the polishes I used and how my sponge looked for gradienting
I will definitely be doing this mani again for work!  I already know the shirt it will match lol!
What do you think about this look Readers?  Do you think barbed wire can be Goth? More importantly do you think Emily is going to like this as much as I do????

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Monkey See, Monkey Do Week--Ashley Is Polish Addicted!

Hi Readers!  I'm doing a whole week of "copied" mani's this week!  I'm going to be featuring some really cool mani's by some really cool bloggers!  Awhile ago Ashley did this way cool medieval mani.  I LOVED IT--she thought is was just so-so lol.  She doesn't think she's a very good stamper but I keep saying practice makes perfect! I tried to do a medieval mani awhile ago as well HUGE FAIL so I decided to just copy Ashley's and YAY I'm happy with this one!  This is the gorgeous The Dawn Is Broken from Essence Vampire's Love.
I cannot say how much I love this mani!  I just speaks to me I guess.
If my camera was fancy schmancy you would see some dark blue and silver micro glitters in The Dawn Is Broken.  It's one of the most unique colors I've ever seen.
If you missed Ashley's mani you can find it here.  She did some awesome bottle shots of The Dawn Is Broken.  Here are our mani's side by side
This is an easy man, it's Essence The Dawn Is Broken stamped using images from BM01.  I'm so happy I finally have a medieval look I am happy with--thanks to Ashley!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Not sure if I succeeded--Medieval Mani

Hi Readers!  My friend Ashley and I are both vampire lovers--she vary on which vampires are the best though lol!  She loves Twilight while I love Black Dagger Brotherhood and Mick St. John.  One thing's for certain we both loved the Essence Vampire's Love polishes!  A few weeks ago Ashley did what I thought was a way cool mani with a medieval "feel" using Essence Dawn in Broken from the Vampire's Love line.  Check out that fabulous mani here.  I wanted to come up with a medieval look using my Dawn Is Broken as well and you'll have to be the judge whether or not I succeeded.
I did alot of work to get this mani.  I actually have a basecoat of black with micro silver underwear on and then two coat of Dawn Is Broken.  I did the acid wash look but taking remover and swiping away at spots of Dawn Is Broken to get a patchy look.  Then I used the same scroll image Ashley used on BM01 BUT I went vertical instead of horizontal so had to stamp four verticals row of that image on my nails.  I could have stopped there I felt I had a weather castle look BUT I added what I'm calling pheasants to it for a tapestry type look.  And yes the pheasants are single image so I had to stamp one right side up and one upside down lol!  The pheasants are from RA102.

Here's a bottle shot of Dawn Is Broken it's really pretty--silvery creme with dark grey and silver glitters dispersed throughout.
Here's a flash pic too!
Here are the polishes I used to get this mani.  The Hema is the underwear for the Dawn Is Broken, the dark grey is one I frankened because I needed a dark grey lol!

I'm not sure about this one--I like it but I think Ashley's minimalistic stamping on hers highlights the beauty of the polish better.  So I'm not done with this one lol!  I shall return!

What do you think readers--medieval or mediocre?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!
