Monkey See, Monkey Do, Sequel--Captivating Claws!

Hi Readers!  Do you remember the girl in school who was so pretty and thin and you really wanted to dislike her for those reasons BUT she was so dang nice that you couldn't not like her????  Growing up and in school that girl for me was Kim Kruel--omg so pretty and perky and she was a cheerleader AND she was smart BUT she was so nice!  In the nail polish world for me that person is Jodi from Captivating Claws.  OMG she is beautiful and nice and does great water marbles you just want to smack her BUT you can't because she's so dang nice! ARG!  Jodi does a weekly water marble and even though she will try and say this one is just so-so or "meh" they are all lovely.  ALL OF THEM!  Awhile ago the Southern Sister's posted their bad ass water marble and it was indeed just that--bad ass.  You can find it here.  When we saw it we were all amazed.  We all said OMG how did they do that??? Yes there is a tutorial but still you look at it and go how do you do that???  Well Jodi did one that was super gorgeous.  SUPER GORGEOUS!  Check her's out here, I thought okay I'm good at water marbling now (bwhahahaha what I big head I have, I've done like maybe 4 good marbles now that does not mean I'm good at it lol!) so I'm going to feature Jodi's.  Well little problem folks I didn't have any of the colors Jodi used lol!  I had to come up with some of my own and here's the final result
Not bad BUT that's only because I marbled over a couple fingers lol!  I redid the swear, ring and pinkie on this hand LOL!.  Here's a nice close up maybe you can tell they ring has another design beneath it
Here's what it looked like before I redid them.  Looking back on it now I don't know why I marbled over these lol!  They look good!
Seriously what was wrong with these?
Here's how the right hand turned out--crappy! yes it turned out crappy!  It looked SO good then I banged my hand on the table and messed up a couple fingers ARG!
If you look at the left hand like this you can't tell I wrecked them!

And as always the thumbs look great--how and why this continues to happen to me I don't know but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth!
Left thumb
Right thumb
Now while these do look cool they look nothing at all like the Southern Sister's!! Again I have to say how did they do that??? I did not get the whole cute little flower in my marble at all!
Here's Anne's design
See those super cute flowers???? I just could not get my pink to spread wide enough hence some of the nails not even having pink on them.
Here's the side by side of mine and Jodi's.  I love how vibrant her pink is
Well there you have it Readers some really great and maybe not so great marbling lol!  If it wasn't for Jodi I wouldn't keep pushing myself to marble.  Maybe one day I'll figure out the elusive flowers Anne nailed so brilliantly too!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

    1. Yes keep practicing. I also find, for me, using a smaller cup like the shot glass or a votive holder works best.

    1. Steph don't be afraid! Watch as many youtube tutorials as you can. Filter water or distilled water is the key. I also find, surprisingly, mine work better in colder than room temperature water--Wisconsin is chilly so when you hear room temperature from someone in Texas you know it's not the same lol! I think everyone should marble a few times to see if it's for them! Good luck!

    1. Erin thank you! What a lovely compliment. I'm not going to lie I sucked at marbling until recently and even now I don't think I'm that good! I think you should try because once you do one that looks good you feel awesome!
