I had a very difficult time yesterday trying to find something to be thankful for. I heard the news the very lovely and very courageous Diem Brown lost her fierce battle with ovarian cancer. Diem, a young woman of only 32, reminded me SO much of my own beautiful sister. Lisa. Both of them were young woman when they were struck with deadly cancer. Both of them fighting for 8 long years. Both of them losing their beauty and spirit to the ugliness of cancer.
But then this morning I remembered something both of them had taught me--what it is to have COURAGE. Out of the darkness there will be light.
Today I am thankful for courage. I am so thankful for how hard my sister fought, if she hadn't I would not have had 8 more years with her. I am thankful for the journey Diem allowed us on--she shared her story and words of encouragement through blogging during her long battle.
And because of COURAGE today I am thankful for all my friends who are cancer survivors. The road is sometimes very long, and very bleak, without courage there would be no strength to carry on.
Today's Digit-al Dozen Thankfulness is dedicated to all of those who are fighting cancer and who have lost their battle--I am thankful for the courage you have shown us all.
This is a really nice design.
