If only dragon's were real!

Hi Everyone!!!! A happy Sunday to you all!  I hope you're having a great weekend so far.  It's a pretty chilly and dreary day here today, quite the opposite of yesterday.  I'm going to be spending the day with my grand nephew Sean today.  He's turning three soon and is quite the handful.  Sean is the grandson of my beautiful sister, Lisa, who died of breast cancer the year before he was born.  It often makes me sad he has to grow up never knowing her, but I'm grateful to be a part of his life, and in that he will know her in the ways we can share her memory with him.

I went to bed extra early last night so I'd be prepared for running around and playing non stop boxing on the Wii!  That kid beats me all the time! LOL!

Before heading off for my day adventure I want to show you what's up with today's Adventures In Stamping Facebook challenge.  Today's theme is butterflies and dragonflies.  I haven't done nearly enough dragonfly mani's so I decided to do one for the challenge.  I do so love how it turned out!  I paired it with a kick ass holo gradient using some of the new Nabi holo's therefore some of these pics are with flash--as there was no sun at 8pm last night lol!

Now here's a funny thing about the Nabi holo's--Seche Vite is not their friend. I did a lovely gradient using Flamingo, Purple and Dark Purple but when I applied the Seche Vite the holo completely melted.  Seche is usually my best friend when it comes to gradients as it helps blend the colors but this time it was my worst enemy!  I ended up sponging over after I did the Seche and while I didn't get a seamless gradient I did get holo goodness.

Here are pics before I went back over the topcoat

While the gradient is pretty the holo was much stronger before I applied the Seche Vite

My dragonflies sure look good though don't they???!!
I used the Cheeky Jumbo 9 Wild At Heart plate for the dragonflies and stamped with China Glaze, Adore, Emotion and Harmony

Here are pics are I sponged just one layer of the gradient again over the topcoated gradient and then did not topcoat again
Holo goodness but almost "too" holo lol!
I like to see my gradient a little more
I do really love these Nabi holos though, to me they are what I refer to as a "chunky" holo.  They aren't a tight linear which I love.  I'm not really a fan of the tight linear holos.  I prefer a scattered to a linear any day.  I'm crazy like that!
So let this be a lesson to you when it comes to Seche Vite.  Sometimes--okay almost always--he'll be your best friend, but then out of the blue he can turn on you.  Sort of like your cat when you're petting him and then stop so he bites you! LOL!

Tomorrow starts my Leopard A Day Week!  I'm really excited to show you guys what I came up with!  If you have any leopard mani's of your own you'd like to show I hope you pop over to my Facebook page and post them there for me!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!!
