Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday--A Girl and Her Polish

Hi Readers! Today I have another installment in the super fun and fab Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday!!!  Honestly it's really hard to pick just one mani you've seen out there in blogger land or youtube or just the internet in general.  When I saw this one though I loved it!  Here's the mani I chose to do for today
I had to do some fast thinking with this one readers because Katee used both Gouda Gouda Two Shoes and Wooden Shoe You Like To Know by OPI and I only bought Wooden Shoe.  So I decided to franken a little Gouda lol.  I honestly would have never thought to put these two colors together but I love how it looks!
There's a little hidden shimmer buried in Wooden Shoe Like To Know and I know it's there in Gouda Gouda Two Shoes as well.  I think I'm going to have to get Gouda after all!
I love mani's like this simple in application and design but such a knockout on the nails
Please check out the Katee's original mani here and check out the comparison shots.  First up Katee's
And here's mine
WOW after seeing them one on top of each other my franken is not close to Gouda Gouda Two Shoes at all!  I REALLY need it now lol!

My friend Stephanie who isn't blogging yet did a great mani I wanted to share with everyone too!  She got her idea from Lindsey at Neverland Nail Blog.
Check out Lindsey's mani here

Sunday Stamping Challenge--Happy Queensday!

Hi Readers!  Today the challenge in the Adventures In Stamping Group was Queensday mani.  I personally think it's great to see some non American holidays celebrated BUT don't Google Queensday if you're looking for mani ideas Readers!  The Netherlands flag is red, white and blue but holy cow I saw a ton of orange!  I was almost going to do an orange, white and blue mani until my dear sweet friend Claudia set me straight!  It's a bit challenging to come up with a design for a holiday you haven't even celebrated before but this is what I came up with
I went with a nail of a pretty corally orange to toss in the orange they seem fond of wearing lol.  Because it's Dutch I had to have some tulips in there.  My sister Lisa's favorite flower was white tulips--she loved those so much.  And then some crowns to get the royalty factor into play.  Sad news but my Gold Sally Hansen Chrome Pen gave up the ghost with this mani so it's not as vibrant as I hoped.
I did a lovely gradient with some blues and greens and then stamped over them.  I think it's pretty cute and I definitely want to try this gradient again.

Now here are some fun facts about Queensday!

Koninginnedag is celebrated on April 30th and it commemorates the birthday of the country's former Queen.   Not sure why they celebrate the former queen instead of the current one but it's their holiday lol!

It is the most celebrated holiday in The Netherlands and is similar too and might rival are own Mardi Gras

The reason for orange being worn is . . . it's the color of the royal family! The lineage of the current dynasty, The house of Oranje-Nassau can be dated back  to William van Oranje or William The Orange!

So even though The Netherlands flag is red, white and blue--orange is worn by many Dutch as a symbol of Dutch pride

Happy Queensday Readers!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!!

Breakfast of Champions!

Hi Readers!  You know the phrase a day late and dollar short--sometimes I feel like that's the story of my life lol!   I am just now FINALLY getting around to trying the poptart nails or jelly sandwich as some like to call them. Amber from My Nail Graffiti did this cool post awhile ago.  I've been meaning to try it and decided to give it a whirl today.  Of course I had to give it a little twist!
Can you tell which ones are my favorite????
I'm not going to lie readers I love anything cherry!  Cherry Turnovers, cherry pie, cherry lip balm, cherry jello, cherry koolaid AND cherry poptarts!
To make my "pop tart" I used 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow and then one coat of Confetti Tasmanian Devil.  I applied a thin coat of a white jelly I frankened myself using clear and white--yep that's a franken anyone can do!  I topped it with Essie's Matte topcoat Matte About U and then decided to add the super cute cherries!  This is from a GCOCL plate I found on ebay last year.  I love the look of the matte jelly sandwich!
So now the real question is, readers, do you toast your Pop Tarts or eat them "raw"  I like mine either way!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Who needs holos???

Hi Readers--that's right you heard me who needs holos when you can have a gorgeous looks great in the sun and the shade duochrome!  I love duochromes Readers and more importantly I love the first duochromes--the Sally Hansen prisms.  Today I'm wearing knock out prism called Burgundy Orchid.  My wonderful polish wifey Lori got it for me for Christmas.  This is how gorgeous it is Readers--this convo could have happened to me today
Me "What seems to be the problem Officer"
Cop "Ma'am is there a reason you were driving so erratically?"
Me "Me?! Driving erratically are you sure?"
Cop "Yes ma'am it's as if you were constantly turning your hand in front of you to catch the light of the sun and shade--almost like you were staring at your fingers"
Me "Huh that's not ringing a bell at all Officer"

Yes that could have been my conversation today because that's what I was doing!  I had to go to the store for more cotton balls and I had a hard time concentrating on the road because I was staring at the gorgeousness that is Burgundy Orchid.

While duochromes do come out to play in the sun they really shine in the shade.  Look at this gorgeous mani!
This is the beauty that is Burgundy Orchid
With this gorgeous duochrome you see dark purple, burgundy, red and even gold!
Here's a shot that shows red
Here's how it looks in the light of the kitchen, a gorgeous dark purple
Here's a bottle shot--ahhhhh I love prisms!
Of course I didn't stop there!  I stamped over it lol!
I actually tried to do a tape mani with this and it was a HUGE fail so I settled for the abstract image on plate M64 and was not disappointed!
Are you dying yet????
Why would anyone settle for a holographic polish that only truly shines in the sun when you can have something that looks like this?????!!! WHY??!!!!
OMG SERIOUSLY HOW GORGEOUS IS THIS????
I can't stop posting pics of it!
If you don't have this color Readers YOU NEED IT!  I don't care what anyone wants to tell you about the duochromes from Ozotic or Ludurana the REAL duochromes are Sally Hansen prisms!  You can still find this one on ebay for crying out loud!
If I could I would marry this color!

What do you think Readers--are you a holo lover or a duo lover???

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Wrapped Up In Tape Group Challenge

Hi Readers!  Today I have another group challenge like the water marble.  We decided on tape mani--any kind of tape mani lol!  For mine I had at least 4 picked out but this is the one I settled on.  I saw it on Pinterest awhile ago and fell in love with it!  Here's where I first found it--great idea if you ask me!
Wow let me just tell you how hard it is to use fine striping tape when you have long nails!  I was cursing this mani out a few times lol!
I decided to put some bling on with it and dragged out one of my lucite rings I haven't foiled over yet
But that's not all!!  I recently got not one but two different handcuff bracelets from ebay!! Check them out readers!  Here's the first one--see the little keys hanging from it?????!
And here's the other one
Which one do you like better Readers?  I like the keys dangling but I like the other one too as it has more sets of cuffs lol!  Is this not the perfect bracelet for me or what???  I need to find a matching necklace and earrings I think!

Check out below to see all the other cool ideas my friends came up with!

Let Me (Dragon)Fly!

Hi Readers!  Did anyone get in on the fabulous sale Cult Nails had this month?  I sure did and I'm sort of kicking my self in the butt for not getting one of the polishes I snagged earlier!  What I got from the sale this time was Vicious, Time Traveler and Let Me Fly.  I've been wanting Let Me Fly FOREVER and I can't believe I almost didn't get it this time either.  I was going back and forth between Living Water and In A Trance and Let Me Fly.  For some reason I thought Let Me Fly was just a creme.  It's not readers! It's the most gorgeous teal shimmer EVAH!  I LURVE IT!  I really wanted to showcase it and I honestly thought of wearing it with no nail art over it.  That lasted about an hour lol!  Here's what I came up with for my Let Me Fly mani!
I actually looked for some cute dragonfly images but in all the plates I have i came up with bubkiss!  Hence the free hand dragonflies!
Here's nice close up!
I decided to wear my double butterfly ring with it!
Here's a picture of the polishes I used
This is Cult Nails Let Me Fly, WetnWild White Frost, and China Glaze Fairy Dust.  I just realized I forgot my WetnWild Black Creme in the pic lol!

If you don't have any Cult Nails I highly recommend you give them a try!

Do two rights . . .

Hi Readers!  If two wrongs don't make a right do two rights make a bada$$ mani??? Why yes! YES THEY DO!  I know it seems crazy and inconceivable that I messed with my gorgeous glass fleck water marble from yesterday but I did just that.  I say looking at my sparkly, twinkly mani and thought--what would this look like with Black Shatter over it??
BAM!
How does it look??? It looks freaking fantastic that's how it looks!  Oh Shatter if loving you is wrong I don't want to be right!
This is just spectacular AND it's still mega sparkly!
Both my thumbs look great!
Left Thumb
Right Thumb
Here's my lovely collage!
Here's a before and after pic--really they both look great!
You'd think I'd stop while I was ahead but nope I kept on going!
Check out the matching jewelry I made for this mani!
Bracelet
Rings
Here they are together!
What do you think Readers? Was I crazy to cover up this awesome mani after only one day or did I make it even better???!

Monkey See, Monkey Do--Monday!

Hi Readers! This Monday starts the Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday mani's!  As you know I did this for 2 weeks recently and what can I say some of my nail polish friends liked the idea so much they asked me if they could do it lol!  I mean of course I said yes because it's so much dang fun--plus we all know Kristin has a huge crush on me (you know you do Kristin!)  It's a simple concept really see a design out there on another blog, on pinterest, or just the internet and recreate that mani.  I knew the second I saw this mani by Smashley Sparkles I had to do this!  And thanks to her I HAD to have ALL the new Take Wing Color Clubs.  It's my first and probably last Color Club collection lol!  I'm not usually one for the entire collection but this one is AHmazing!! Glass fleck finishes Readers--yes you heard me THEY ARE ALL GLASS FLECK FINISHES!
I'm not going to lie this was not easy to do.  The first time I tried it MAJOR FAIL.  I was hacked off and then shocked trying to figure out how on earth she got the polishes to spread.  I gave up walked away for an hour but came back and tried again and BAM this is what happened!
Holy Hannah do you see this???!!!! This is the most AHmazing, gorgeous water marble EVAH!
It's so sparkley!!!! Look at the right hand!
And as usual the thumbs turned out great!
Left Thumb
Right Thumb
Man it just keeps getting better!
I just love how this turned out! Thanks SO MUCH to Smashley Sparkles for doing it so I could copy it!
