Summer Challenge Mermaid!!

Hi Readers!!! Yay finally to the Mermaid Challenge!  And not too soon either Readers because I'll be starting a month long challenge in September with a few of my friends.  I did it last year before blogging and it was KILLER.  I was going to pass on it this year but I hung in until the end last year so I couldn't leave my girls hanging in the breeze lol!

I got an AHmazing gift in the mail today.  My 3 sweet Ninja friends sent me some of the new polishes from their collection.  I got Alexandrite, Zultanite and Color Changing Garnet
They are STUNNING READERS!!!!  I knew I could use a couple of them for sure for my mermaid challenge!

These are duochrome glitter polishes, and they are really, really, really, really, REALLY COOL!

Check out Alexandrite and Zultanite in the shade

I layered Alexandrite over OPI Ski Teal We Drop and Zultanite over Zoya Edyta.  GLORIOUS!

Here it is with light
Man oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man!!!!

I decided for a mermaid and merman look

I really love how this turned out!  I think you all know how much I love mermaid manis!!
Here it is in the shade
I really think I love the green best!  It's almost dragonish!!

I love these polishes Readers!!!

Rhonni is working hard to keep these beauties in stock.  If you don't have them yet don't despair!  You can find them here http://ninjapolish.com/home.php

For my mermaid look I used OPI Ski Teal We Drop topped with Ninja Polish Alexandrite and stamped with OPI Harmony and added some glitter at the tips.  My merman look is Zoya Edyta topped with Ninja Polish Zultanite and then I stamped using a GORGEOUS dark green from Nails Inc called Elm Park Gardens.  My mermaid image is from BM209 and my merman image is
Mash-39.

Let's see what everyone else has come up for their mermaid challenge!

Menage anyone?!?!?!!

Hi Readers!  Omg I have been SO tired lately and haven't had anytime to come from work and do nothing.  I've barely had time to come up with a decent mani AND I haven't been able to read.  Right now I'm reading Cherry Adair's  entire T-Flac series.  I honestly don't know why I didn't read them all right as they came out--these books are fantastic!  Suspense and hot romance what more can you want????

Well what I want is some time to get my nails done and read my books AND snuggle with Roscoe!  Tonight I set the goal for myself to be in bed at 8:30pm so I could spend 2 hours reading a book, snuggling Roscoe and playing with the chinchillas lol!  I didn't make my deadline Readers as I'm posting this at 8:54 BUT I'm only  behind 30 minutes!

I needed something cool and quick.  What better time to haul out the crackle??!!!!  I was going to do a black, gold and red mani and use Butter London Knees Up again instead I decided just on black and gold BUT sitting next to me on my little table were Sashay My Way and Clockwork--basically because I was too lazy to put them away from when I used them earlier this month!  How fortunate for me!  And let this be a lesson to you that being neat isn't always good!

I started with a couple coats of China Glaze It's My Turn--my favorite gold polish EVAH, then OPI Black Shatter then I topped it with both Orly Sashay My Way and Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork! BAM instant nail art in a hurry!

I'm definitely going to wear my cage ring with this mani tomorrow!!!

No stamping necessary--sometimes you gotta love that lol!

I wonder if anyone would think I'm wacko if I tried to marry Clockwork?  I think we make a good couple!

Okay now I'm only an hour off schedule!  And who am I kidding when I say I'll read for 2 hours???!! Lately I can't even make it an hour before the reader is smacking me in the face as I doze off lol!

I am getting home early tomorrow with nothing to do and I have something special in mind for the Summer Challenge on Friday--so here's hoping it will turn out!

I love this kind of menage--it's easy, safe, AND no jealousy going on here as they are all beautiful in their own way!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Slow and steady wins the race!

Hi Readers!  A happy Wednesday to you!  After yesterday's flip flop fiasco I am back on top!  What better way to get there than a lovely gradient!  I can't believe how I thought about passing on the China Glaze Bohemians when they first came out!  These babies are gorgeous!  They look great on and they work great to stamp with.  BUT as with all duochromes they truly shine when black or a darker color beneath them is involved.  When using them to stamp with make sure you have a dark, complimentary base.

For these gradient I used China Glaze Deviantly Daring and Rare and Radiant. I did not layer these over black, instead I did one coat of Rare and Radiant first and then used both for my gradient

These mani reminds me of a way cool turtle!

And how can you not love a polish that looks great in the shade too????

I don't think I'll ever tire or a beautiful gradient.
And I love how the giraffe image plates can easily be turned into a turtle shell lol!
I stamped Kleancolor black over my gradient using BM313.

If you weren't going to get the Bohemians, or you're still on the fence--get over the fence Readers!  They are gorgeous!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hop you all have a fantastic day!

Summer Challenge--Flip Flops!

Hi Readers!  Sometimes challenges aren't good Readers.  Sometimes you get home at 8:30pm and your bedtime is 9:30pm yet here you are at 10:44pm writing your blog post for the next day and looking at your mani and just shaking your head.  It was my mom's birthday Monday and at first we didn't think she would want to celebrate it.  Your life is different, your family is different when you lose a child and then a husband.  As much as you want to yell hey I'm still here, they don't always feel that way.  Completely understood.  Heck I haven't felt like celebrating my birthday's since my sister died 3 years ago BUT I have another beautiful sister so we do celebrate it.  And my mom celebrated her's yesterday too.  We had steaks on the grill and shared some fun family stories BUT then I didn't get home until 8:30pm.  So instead of doing this great summer gradient I hauled out my neons, did a neon skittle and came up with a really lame mani just to make the challenge. Honestly I should have just left my MSMD mani on and called it a night!
BLEH!  but one thing I can say and hopefully Briana won't see me say it, but neons are starting to grow on me!  I think I should snag this years China Glazes after all!

I used a bunch of images for this--the flip flops are from Bundle Monster 3rd set and the bikini, palm tree and kite are from Shany.  If I wasn't so tired and didn't have a sleeping Roscoe on me I'd look up the numbers for you! Sorry!!!

PLEASE check out everyone else's cuz I'm sure they are better than mine!  On the plus side I have a great idea for something for tomorrow so stay tuned lol!

Monkey See, Monkey Do--Madeline Poole Nails!

Hi Readers!  Welcome to the new week!  First of all let me tell you Roscoe is here with us!  OMG he is AHdorbs Readers!  He's pretty tiny so I'm working on fattening him up some LOL!  Believe you me if anyone knows how to fatten someone up it's me!

For today's MSMD mani I found this one doing a random internet search.  Sometimes when you're stuck and looking for something new and fun just search Google!  I was thinking of a RIM job but it's my mom's birthday.  I can't being doing rim jobs on my mom's birthday LOL!

I like this look alot.  This is Milani Black Swift with Butter London On Your Knees on top.  Then I lovingly aka stupidly fished out gold hex glitters from Sally Hansen Set The Stage because my Milani bottle had completely dried out and voila!

I'm a huge fan of The Ruffian and definitely a fan of the RIM job!

Red and Black go together just like Sonny & Cher and PB&J!!!!!

Make sure you check out the wicked cool mani's at  http://madelinepoolenails.tumblr.com/

And check out this cute pic of Roscoe sleeping on my while I blog this!  I didn't want to use the flash and wake him lol!

Thanks for stopping by!  Before you go and have a great day check out what my partners in crime have come up with for today!

Is anyone ready for some Porn?

Hi Readers!  Today's Sunday Challenge theme is Pulsating Pink and Purple.  I think it won by a landslide!  Several months ago I made a holo franken from a Rimmel color with the title Pulsating.  I decided to call it Pulsating Pink Porn and what better excuse to haul it out than today.  Alas there is no sun here today so these are pics in the kitchen.  And as it always seems with spectraflair frankens the bottle looks better than the nails!

I did an accent nail with China Glaze LOL which to me isn't very holo

It'll do for a day's wear though!!

I stamped with Kleancolor Black using BM305.

I'm spending the day with my mom and then off to the see the new Bourne movie and of course having some snuggle time with Roscoe.  What are you all doing today??

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Cheater Cheater BBQ eater!

Hi Readers!  Happy Saturday!!!  Guess what???!!!! In addition to it being the weekend we are getting a new baby kitten today!   I'm pretty over the moon about it as is the camera man!  We've had a lot of sadness in our lives this month and we've talked about getting another cat ever since we lost our sweet Sammie 2 years ago.  I'm hoping Baxter will be happy with the new addition so cross your fingers for us!

Now onto the nail portion of our program!  Today the Summer Challenge theme is BBQ.  BBQ???? What the french is my Crumpet Leader, Debbie thinking?  Do they EVEN have BBQ over in the UK?????  I've lived in Texas so I know what good BBQ is LOL!  Another thing I know is I'm not a cool "cute" person like Jackie from Adventures In Acetone.  There is no way I can draw a cute cow on my nail and then a steak or a brisket on my nail and have it be a good BBQ look.  So today I did what I often do best--I cheated!!!!

Hmm lets a take a look shall we

Thank you OPI for the glorious color that is Mrs O'Leary's BBQ!!!!

Now THIS looks much better than a cow or a pork chop painted on my nail!

I did a lovely gradient using Mrs O'Leary's BBQ and We'll Always Have Paris Suede because I just love these colors together!!!! I stamp with Milani White On using Mash-43

I don't know about you Readers but can it really be cheating when it turns out this good????

Before we check out what all my other Summer Challenge friends have come up with for the this mani let's take a look at Roscoe!

He's currently a farm kittie at my friend Ashlee's farm.  I sure hope he'll pick us today when we are out there looking at the kittens!!

I just love orange boy kitties!!!!

I'll fill you all in tomorrow before the Sunday Challenge which is pink and purple.  FINALLY a chance for me to get out my franken Pulsating Pink Porn lol!!!

Here's what my Crumpet friends came up with for BBQ!

Summer Challenge--Green and Orange!

Hi Readers!  Summer Challenge Green and Orange???!!! What the????? Those colors DO NOT even go together!  But here's a disclaimer Readers, don't lament this to your fab work buddy Ashlee because when you say "omg green and orange those are awful colors to put together", she'll say "those are the colors I had at my wedding!"

I was really lamenting this challenge.  I wanted to do it as I haven't done a few for a while so I thought okay get back on the horse.  But the green and orange horse????

It was easy to do when you had the right arsenal at your disposable!!! Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed and Gosh Rainbow!!!

Who said green and orange don't go together??? Not me!!!

I stamped over it using Zoya Meg

I thought these colors would beat me, but they didn't!

Here's my matching Toxic Seaweed ring I made ages ago!

Lizz's is really getting a work out as my camera man at work LOL!

I really loved this mani.  I couldn't decided if it was dragonish or snakeish but either way I loved it!  The image I used for snake and/or dragon design was Mash-39.

Thanks for stopping by!!! Make sure you check out what everyone else came up with for orange and green day!

Just Like Clockwork!

Hi Readers!  It's not everyday--okay really it's NEVER any day where I don't stamp.  Today there is no stamping.  None needed either because this mani is so gorgeous and it just blew me away.

I did a gradient using Orly's Buried Alive and then Misa Golden Thread and topped it with the most gorgeous and glorious Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork

I asked my coworker the fabulous Lizzard, if she could snap a pic of both hands. She is an EXCELLENT camera man!

It was actually hard to work as I was so busy looking at my gorgeous nails!

I consider myself super lucky to be friends with Michelle who is the talent behind Sonoma Nail Art.  She's the total package Readers--pretty, funny, mega creative and talented, and really super sweet!

Do you have any Sonoma Nail Art polishes??? Which one is your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

The Midas Touch

Hi Readers!  I did this mani awhile ago and am just now posting it.  I wasn't really sure if this would turn out when I was doing it but I was so pleasantly surprised!  This is a couple of coats of Orly Sashay My Way over a gold franken I made and then stamped with Kleancolor black!

Don't you just love that sparkle shot in the full sun??

I actually did this mani while my dad was in the ICU, little did I know this would be the last mani he'd ever see on me

It's very sparkly and very pretty that's for sure!

I know some people don't like to stamp over glitters but really some of them make a perfect base for it.  This almost looks like a foil to me!  I believe I used an image from Cheeky XL A

Have you tried stamping over glitters?  What are you thoughts?

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Bang a gong, get your Geometric On!

Hi Readers!  Some of us gals got together for another group challenge.  This time the theme is Geometric!  WHEW thank goodness I have a bazillion stamping images here so I didn't have to try to freehand this sucker!

Here's my take on a geometric mani!  I used a bunch of images from the Cheeky XL plates!

I like my ring finger least of all lol!

Thumbie is cool though!!!

I'm wearing it with my black and white top--I wonder what everyone at work will say about this one???

Make sure you check out what all my friends came up with!!!

Monkey See Monkey Do--My friend Whitney!

Hi Readers!  A few weeks ago when a few of my friends and I did a Monochrome Monday I was completely blown away by my sweet friend Whitney's design.  I've been so proud of her for catching the stamping bug and then she comes up with something SO cool I just had to copy it!
Her mani featured the fab Sticks and Stones from Coverband!
I just love black and white mani's!
This is just Milani Black Swift with Milani White On stamped over it using BM319.  Isn't Whitney a genius????
I actually had planned on using this post before my dad went into the hospital  so my nails are long here--I miss my long nails but not as much as I miss my dad :(
I think if I had to nothing but black and white mani's for the rest of my life I could live with that!

Make sure you check out all my friends from
