Day 11--Splatter!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Friday!  Today started out an "ug" day for me with the challenge being splatter in the Crumpet Nail Tart's Challenge.  I suck at splatter and I don't think I'm creative at all when it comes to it.  The only successful one I did was the blood splatter from Halloween.

So what do I do when I'm committed to a challenge and have zero for inspiration?  I check out when some of my blogger crushes are doing or have done and BAM I copy them with a twist.  I totally copied this fabulous gradient and splatter mani idea from Lucy of Lucy's Stash.  She's pretty freaking AHmazing and I love absolutely everything she does.  Please check her's out here because it really is to die for delicious.  If you are just now hearing about Lucy OMG look at every post she's ever done--she is fabulous!

Now don't be alarmed but here's a pic of my gradient sans cleanup

Why clean up when I'm just going to get it messy?  This is Milani White On The Spot, OPI Rising Star and Take The Stage and then China Glaze Electrify.  I didn't have any of the same colors Lucy used so I switched it up to something I did have.  When I first started my nail stamping craze that happened to me ALOT.  But then I would find myself buying TONS of nail polish on ebay just to recreate 1 mani, which seriously is crazy!  You don't need to buy every polish--omg I might get kicked out of the "community" now!! LOL!

Here's my splatter

It's okay--it's not fantastic, it's just okay.  Despite pretty much copying Lucy's mine is still not as cool as hers is!
I'm glad I'm doing this challenge because it makes you step out of your comfort zone and do something different for a change

And I think I should be practicing some more splatters so I hope I remember to do more after this challenge is over.

I'm a bit ahead on my nails in comparison to the days and the people at work were in awe of these yesterday.  Too bad they won't get to enjoy my tape mani!!!

And that is what's in store for tomorrow
I have the coolest idea in my head for it so let's hope I can make it work!

Make sure to check out all the Tart's and their splatters!

Splat!

Hey Everyone!! It looks like I'm jumping from Crumpet's Nail Tarts Halloween Challenge to Crumpet's Nail Tarts Halloween Challenge lol!  I've got a few hectic things going on right now and I've not been able to do my nails each day *GASP*  I have a super cool mani today so this baby could stay on for a few days!!

Let's see what's up for today shall we?

Ooooh blood and gore!

Check out my very first successful splatter mani!!!!

As you can see I did a gradient first!  I used Essence Vampire's Love Polishes for my gradient--The Dawn Is Broken and Hunt Me If You Can

And did you see that??!!!! Right hand pic even !!!!!!

My "blood" is Revlon Devil's Lure (which I love) and China Glaze Salsa

I tried to stamp a bat on this mani can you find it????

Not really LOL!  It just looks like more of the blood and gore BUT I'm so please with how this turned out!!

You know this is going to be a good challenge today so make sure to check out everyone else!

What day is it????? SPLATURDAY!

Hi Readers!!!! Good news--my charger came just in time for SPLATURDAY!  My blogging and nail polish friends got together for another challenge today and splatter mani was picked.  Honestly I was not prepared for this one at all.  I really didn't think my charger would get her so I didn't practice nor did I even have a straw in the house!  I had to cut the tips off of a qtip and use it lol!  Let me tell you this I'm full of a hot air but trying to blow through this tiny tube was not easy!
I've seen some pretty cool splatter mani's out there and despite it getting warmer and starting to appear to be summer I didn't want to go the bright colors or neon route.  I'm a dark vampy girl at heart readers and this is what I came up with
The colors I chose are a base of China Glaze Below Deck--which I love, and then I splattered with China Glaze Trendsetter, Revlon Devil's Lure, and a dark grey franken I made with no name.  Poor no name!
I guess you could call this the pretty "ugly" colors mani lol!
Trendsetter is that "baby poo" yellow color that you're just not sure works as a whole mani but here I think it works great with the purple taupe of Below Deck and then the blood red of Devil's Lure and the deep grey of poor no name.  Maybe I should just name that Poor No Name lol!
This is my very first splatter!! I'm going to call it a success--what do you think Readers?

Make sure to check out all the other cool splatters for SPLATURDAY by my friends!

Thanks for stopping by!!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
