Ooooh I need sunglasses!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Weekend!! Today I did the annual Movin' For Mental Health 4k walk to help benefit The Racine Friendship Clubhouse.   It's a wonderful organization helping though individuals who struggle daily with mental health diagnoses.

The weather was great!  Nice and sunny and not too hot so I felt I need to haul out the neons!  I did a really love gradient which is one I've done before but always looks stunning.
I took some pics in the car before getting out because the sun was hitting me just right!
I mean how gorgeous is this??!!!
Just 3 neons over white gave me a rainbow effect!
The 3 colors I used were Nina Ultra Pro Blue Blaze and Solar Flare and then I also used one of my fave neons ever, China Glaze Purple Panic.

I REALLY wanted to stamp over this but my niece Alex told me not too, so today I'm leaving it as is.  Tune in tomorrow to see if I stamp on it or not!

Rich in life!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Hump Day to you all!  It's a short week this week with Monday being a holiday, let's just hope it doesn't start dragging on Friday.  I'm doing a 4k walk on Saturday and then enjoying some nice brats on the grill afterwards and so far it looks like it's going to be a perfect day for it!

I hope everyone is having a good week so far, the Summer season is coming up on us, for some of you it's already in full blast and others are probably heading into Winter.  No matter the season this polish I have on is perfect!

I finally got one of the Magical Pixie Dusts from Zoya for their fabulous Earth Day special and oh my word this one is STUNNING!  The is the super gorgeous and very sparkly Zoya Lux
People are asking all the time in The Adventures In Stamping group on facebook if you can stamp over a textured polish--the answer is hell yes you can stamp over them and you should stamp over them!
Some people say the Magical Pixie's are too chunky for them but I love this one!  I plan on getting them all because why break up a family???!!!
I stamped over this beauty with plates Cici & SiSi 02 and 05
You have to be careful with this polish though because all you do is stare at it on your fingers which makes driving dangerous!
What a lovely rose gold--I really love this polish.  I don't find the Pixie Dusts hard to remove at all either so this is just a win/win all the way around!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Let Freedom Ring!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Memorial Day!  If you are in the states most of you are probably at home today enjoying a day off of work and hopefully spending time with family and friends.  Today we celebrate Memorial Day, a way to honor and give tribute to our veteran's both past and present.

We are a free country only because of their selfless sacrifice.  Thank you to those who have served and who are currently serving now--without you we would not be the people we are today.

I didn't have a lot of time to get in depth today with it being some nice weather finally so I pulled out my Red Dog Designs Let Freedom Bling and worked around it!
Simple and easy, but still really cute!
My red is the gorgeous Butter London Knee's Up.  My blue is the super gorgeous Zoya Song
Happy Memorial Day everyone!!! Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

How to enjoy cupcakes while on low carb!

Hi Everyone!  Wow look at that gorgeous sunshine out there!  I think we passed Spring and went directly into Summer here.  I'm not complaining though because the sun is out!

I've been doing the lowcarb lifestyle for about a year now.  My son and I are both following it at home and together we've lost over 100 lbs.  I still have a ways to go though and while I  haven't been walking because of the craptastic cold and rainy weather I have been pretty good about eating low carb.

Sometimes you just have those cravings though! OMG Mine are definitely for cherry turnovers and chocolate covered peanuts.  If I'm having a really bad day I will definitely go for some chocolate covered peanuts.  My son will eat a gallon of ice cream if it's in the house, so we both have our different things we can live without.

I did this cute mani with my new Kiko cupcake polish to help curb my cravings!
My fab friend Michelle picked me up a few of the Kiko Cupcakes polishes.  This one is 647.  I'm surprised I like them as much as I do--I don't like any other textured that's flat!
I did an orange, pink and blue gradient for the accent nails and then stamped with DRK B and MJ VI

I thought something bright and cute would be a great way to keep this Summer weather going!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

I "Lily" love this!

Hi Everyone!! Happy weekend! Woot! Yay! Finally Here!  I don't know about anyone else but I was up at 5:19 this morning thinking of some nail ideas and cleaning my room.  I did LOTS of cleaning this morning.  Got all my sweaters totally packed up--left out 2 as it's still in the 40's here occasionally--set stuff aside for the Women's Resource Center and tossed some stuff I've been holding onto forever away.  I cleaned the chinchilla cages then decided to take a break before tackling the living room and a few million bottles of polish that need to be put away into melmer drawers.

Does anyone else do this?  I keep saying I'm going to put stuff away the minute I use it but nope I do not do it!  Instead it piles up on the table next to the couch or finds it way into a bag on the floor.  Finally after looking at a million bottles I scream ENOUGH and then put a million away.  HELLO!  If I just put them away each time after freaking using them I would only be putting away 2 or 3 and not a million!  UG!

I did this mani and didn't have time to post it before the start of Digit-al Dozen Decades week so I thought I'd share it with you today.  My friend MJ told me I HAD to get this polish by Emily de Molly and thank goodness she did!  It's gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous and MOAR gorgeous!
This is the WAY lovely Maddy's Magenta
If you've been wanting a dupe of OPI DS Exclusive according to MJ this is it!  She should know she own's like 5 bottles of Exclusive she loves it so much!
I think it's stunning and the color is really lovely so looks good even in the shade

I stamped using one of my new LilyAnna plates LilyAnna 03
A whole lot of lovely going on here!
What I like about this color is despite being a darker color with the holo in there it's all about the summer too!
I'm really glad I picked this baby up--I give MJ a hard time all the time about only wearing holos but today I'll cut her some slack!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a great weekend!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Decades-The 50's!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Friday!  Today marks the end of our decades week.  Very  interesting how several of us picked the same decade more than once!  I knew the second I saw decades I was doing an Elvis mani.  I mean really I HAD to.  Elvis is someone I've loved through many a decade.  In fact I have been an Elvis fan for 5 decades! Woot!  That's a long time, and it will continue because I will be a fan until I draw my last breath.

Today is all about The King!  Since I've done a few Elvis mani's I really wasn't sure what I want to do this time.  I did some Google searching and found a picture of him from Jailhouse Rock so I recreated it

Here's the picture I found
He was notorious for going up on his toes to dance!  And of course had the extra hip swivel in there too!
Here's a pic of my mani with the inspiration
I think it turned out great!

I hope you all enjoyed seeing decades week.  I had fun doing it and I think everyone did a great job!

Let's stop over and see what everyone else came up with for the last day of Decades!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Decades--The 80's!

Hi Everyone!  Well I think we had Spring and possibly Summer and we're moving back into Winter.  UG!  I put away all my sweaters but here I am this morning digging around trying to find something warm.  Yesterday I had to have my little space heater on at work AND put my feet in the heated massager I have.  What in the word is going on?  This is the middle of May and we still have the heat on!  And then I have dear friends in California who are being threatened daily with wildfires!  Opposite ends of the spectrum.  And now that I think about it, I really shouldn't complain about some cold weather when peoples homes are being burned :(

Okay enough of that, time to move on to today's decade.  I chose the 80's because who doesn't want to choose the 80's with all the fun neon we had???

The 80's decade started off the technology we have today.  It was a decade of great social and economic change. Ronald Reagan became our President in 1980 and worked hard to spread the end of communism.  We addressed drug abuse in the 80's and had many campaigns for the war against drugs with the Just Say No Campaign.  Hair bands!!!  We had glorious, glorious hair bands through the 80's.  My faves were Def Leppard and Winger.  I think for sure the one thing we had in the 80's that no one who lived in the decade will ever forget is the overabundance of neon!

That being said here is my mani for today's 80's theme!
I really only got one good pic of this mani as I did it at night and it's neon LOL! If you don't have sun you have to use shade which is a bummer
I tried to brighten it up with a white paper towel--lame!
I just did a basic neon gradient with pink, orange and yellow and then did some stamping with CiCi & SiSi

It's pretty fun!  I bet it will be distracting at work today!

Let's pop over and check out what everyone has put together for Decades!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Decades--The 20's!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Hump Day!  Middle of the week means the week is half over woot!  I guess I'm a little late to the party today too as several of my comrades have already done this decade but I'm throwing my hat into the ring as well for the 20's!

The 20's gave us Babe Ruth and same great baseball.

Prohibition lasted the entire decade!

The 20's was a decade with prosperity for the US

Jazz was oh so popular and Art Deco peaked

Women wore knee length skirts, and wore their hair bobbed and styled in the "marcel wave" and they were known as flappers!

Today my mani is recreated from a picture I found while Googling (not popular in the 20's LOL!)

Here's the pic

And here's my interpretation

I think I did pretty good!
Placing the silver hex glitters by hand for the hat was a little time consuming!  Good thing I only did 3 rows LOL!
Here's a pic with the mani and my inspiration pic
I think it turned out pretty darn good!

Let's go visit the rest of the gang and see what's up for Decades today!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Decades--the 60's!

Hi Everyone!  Wow if you're in the Midwest I hope you are all above ground and dry!  Holy cow did we ever get some torrential rain last night.  I was out with friends until pretty late and driving home felt more like motor boating home than it did driving!  But it was SO worth it!  I love getting together with my nail polish friends even if last night was all about stuffing our faces with yummy food and just talking about nails instead of doing nails LOL!

So how about that first day yesterday?! OMG what another great theme for us!  I love being in a group of women who are very diverse, who have different talents for nail art, and who come up with some fan-freaking-tastic ideas!

Today I decided to show case my birth decade and do the 60's.  During the 60's we saw a lot of the rigidity in our culture dissipate.  We saw the Vietnam war reek havoc on our Nation and for the first time since the Civil War we saw Americans strike out against Americans because of it.  John F Kennedy rose to great fame--an Irish Catholic President who was then savagely assassinated right in front of his wife.  Not only did we witness the assassination of a president, Malcom X, Martin Luther King, Jr and Bobby Kennedy would all be assassinated in the 60's decade.

It was truly a time of unrest and the battle cry of the 60's became Make Love Not War.  In a decade of free love war had never been more of out place.  Today I'm showcasing my Make Love Not War mani

I had some help with this one from the lovely No More War from Rescue Beauty Lounge
I am a sucker for those "ugly" pretty colors!
I think Tie Dye and Camouflage represent the 60's quite well today what do you think?

Let's stop by and check out what decade everyone else had in mind for today!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Decades--The 90's!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Monday!  Today is the start of fabulous week!  The Digit-al Dozen is taking on Decades this week.  I'm starting off the week with the 90's. Technology in the 90's helped paved the way for technology today.  And without it computers, blogging, facebook, smart phones and social media wouldn't be what it is today.

Technology in the 90's gave us the introduction of The World Wide Wide and HTML.
Microsoft introduced Windows 95 as well as Windows 98 and both were amazing!
Email really takes off and Microsoft acquires hotmail.com
Web browsers are created to make surfing the web more user friendly
Digital cameras become available to consumers and become more and more affordable.
The first MP3 player is introduced
Netflix is launched and offers DVD's mailed directly to your home.
The first HDTV broadcast occurs
DVRs are released for the first time.

All of these great things happened in the 90's and by the looks of things they keep getting better and better.

In homage to the great 90's I'm proudly displaying my 90's mani!
I had some help from The Nail Junkie's Apple to create this awesome circuit board
I used Bundle Monster BM415 and just added some gold to make this look totally realistic

We've definitely come a long way and we are able to fit more and more into this like cameras, computers and phones--all thanks to the fabulous 90's!

Let's stop by and see how everyone else is starting off their Decades week!

Out of the Shadowlands into the sun

Hi Everyone!  Happy weekend!  Sorry I went MIA there for a bit.  I have no excuse really other than I just wasn't "feeling" it.  I hate times like that!  Man it's so hard to pull yourself up sometimes.  I have a couple of dear friends going through really rough times.  I have a very good friend who lost one of her pets and another one going to lose one of hers.  Yet the sun is shining today.  Just a sign for all of us to see and realize another day will come.

Spring has finally sprung here too!  Green buds on the trees, days where the windows are open and fresh air filters in.  The cats and chins are totally loving it.  I like to see the earth like this it makes me happy!

I had to open my franken drawer the other day and though why the heck did I make all these polishes if I'm not wearing them?  So I hauled out a few I haven't worn and decided to do something about it.
Looking at this now I'm thinking wow I should have waited with this mani and used it for the release of Godzilla! LOL!
I've named all my frankens after some of my favorite books and the Masters of Shadowlands series by Cerise Sinclair are some of my all time favorites.
I stamped using FUN 7
I love this spotted look design it can be used in so many ways!

I hope everyone has a great weekend planned, whether it's relaxing by staying in or going out and having some fun!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

If my head wasn't screwed on, I'd be screwed!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!  I started out my day thinking today was the start of a Digit-al Dozen week and could not figure out why for the life of me my link code wasn't working.  Come to find out it's not until NEXT week.  OIY!  Definitely not the way to start out a Monday!  So I had to do some scrambling so I would have stuff to post this week LOL!.  Thankfully owning 8 million and 67 polishes helps you out in a pinch!

I grabbed something I had out which was Sinful Colors Candy Coated a very lovely lavender and decided to holo it up a bit with a holo topcoat I made.  And then I just stamped over it with FUN 5 plate and BAM quick and easy but really pretty!
I don't wear holo's very often.  I always love them when I have them on though
Holo topcoats tend to give a silvery look to a color because of the spectra flair powder but in this case it adds to the purple of Candy Coated instead of taking away from it.
I really like this image on the FUN 5 plate too, that plate has so many cool things on it!

I hope everyone else fared a little better than I did today--and your day started out as it should have and not with you thinking it was next week.

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
