Polish Con or Bust!

So a few a few weeks ago I drove down to Chicago with some newly made friends to hit up Polish Con. If you aren't familiar with Polish Con this is an event featuring Independent Nail Polish Makers.  So far they are having this event in the Chicago area every Fall and then other cities in the Spring. They recently named New York for Spring 2017. Since Chicago is a little more than an hour drive for me Chicago is always doable. In  fact the gals I drove down with and I are already talking about road tripping again next year!

I've been really busy at work as well as helping out my mom after gall  bladder surgery so I really haven't stamped my nails much but I have been wearing some of the really exceptional polishes I got at the Con! I thought I would share of a few of the ones I bought as well as the polishes from the VIP bag

First up is the mani I wore to the Con itself.  It matched the top I was wearing that day

There was really only 1 must have polish for me before I left for the event and that was Lollipop  Posse's Give The Lady What She Wants.  OMG when I saw pictures of this polish I fell instantly in love with it and it did not disappoint!

It is a deep vampy bordeaux crelly type polish with a freaking teal shimmer!!! Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner!!

Once I got to the Con there were other polishes that hadn't been on my radar I had to snag.  This next one is one of them.  Seriously I died when I picked up this polish and held it in my hands.  It did not hurt at all it was from Darling Diva as I love and adore Carrie and she never disappoints.

This is Corvis and honestly you can't even describe it it's so dang gorgeous!  It's a black jelly base filled with green, blue, pink ultra chrome flakies as well as holo micro glitter.  Seriously I died when I put this on!!
This polish to me is 100% the Universe in a bottle!

Carrie just loves aliens so I decided to put a little image that reminded me of something out of Alien on a couple of accent nails!
Soooooo cool!!!!

Here's another one I didn't know I needed until I was standing at the table looking at it.  This is Alter Ego's Vegas Showgirl and this thing is FULL OF BLING!  Oh my goodness it is SO stunning and actually completely different than all of the others I bought.  I tended to go for the dark vampy  Fall colors but this is completely the opposite
Best pics I got of this baby were sitting in the living  room by the window as the sun was shining in!
This one is such a stunner!

Out of the bunch of purchases I  bought at Polish Con this CBL exclusive is definitely one of my faves.  I did see a picture of this before the event and knew I wanted it and I was not disappointed in this beauty at all!

This is just a really lovely color and perfect for Fall and Winter!
And this baby  has a slight shift to gold to her! Yep in certain light you get a warmer colder burgundy
I love it and why I say it's perfect for fall.  In fact I did some Fall leaves stamping over it!
Our leaves aren't changing too much here in Southeastern Wisconsin just yet but I suspect that will change starting this week

I'm working today to get some more swatching done of my Polish Con purchases as well as some polishes from the VIP bag.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Whimsy--Faery Field

Hi Everyone!  I'm behind on my Digit-al Dozen week because my mom took a bad fall on Thursday so we had to do the whole ER thing and "watch closely for the next 48 hours" thing.  She fell in the garage while she was trying to put on her golf shoes.  Instead of sitting down and leaning over to put them on and tie them she tried to put her foot up on a chair and do it.  While she couldn't easily pick her foot back up and she lost her balance.  She has a severely bruised tail bone and she also hit her head.  Lucky for us nothing at all was broken.  But it was quite scary.  Now we all have to try to stop giggling when she tells us her coxis is bruised.

I spent some time this Saturday doing nothing but lazing around and reading and creating this mani.  Like most in our group I googled "whimsy" because again what the hell is whimy and this picture actually came up and I really thought it was cool.  I knew I had the perfect base for it so I attempted it and hoped for the best!

For my base I used a group custom polish from Darling Diva called Fricken Swallow which is a lovely blurple type jellie full of flakies.  I layered it over OPI Road House Blues
I stamped using the VL019 plate from friend Arlene snagged for me so this is the 2nd time I've used this plate for Whimsy week but still haven't used it for the sole reason I wanted it LOLOL

Lots and lots of teeny dotting too which I was not a huge fan of
You can see the flakies nicely here don't you think?

And now the big reveal!  This is a picture of the picture I found when googling "Whimsy" it's titled mystical magical flowers.
I think this totally looks like a faery field at night.
What do you think?  How did I do?  I'm sorry I was late but man oh man I think it was sort of worth it!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Spring--Daylight Savings Time!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday! UG but is it??? Daylight savings time hit yesterday and since it's March we are "springing ahead" aka losing an entire freaking hour of sleep!  Back in the day when I used to work 3rd shift I was totally prepared for this to happen.  I used to work on getting up 15 minutes earlier every day for a week so that by the time it finally hit I was ready.  This week I totally failed.   TOTALLY FAILED.  I'm pretty sure there will be no makeup or eyebrows on today since I have to be up at what is really 4am instead of 5am for work.

Dear coworkers I am so sorry for my lack of eyebrows

Sincerely,
Screwed Over by Daylight Savings Time

But this day also starts the Digital-Dozen week and we are doing Spring so something good is coming out of this for sure lol!

Here's my Daylight Savings Mani to celebrate (defefinitely said with sarcasm) the occasion
I used Darling Diva's We Are The Champions for my base and then sponged on some black tips.

We Are The Champions is a lovely holo duochrome.  It might not be very Spring looking but it looks cool with this mani!
Okay this pic of it is pretty cool!
I stamped with Bundle Monster and Pueen normally too short for my nails but perfect to use when you put on a color tip!

Here's the shift in the duochrome
Gold to silver really looks cool!

We were all trying to come up with something other than flowers for Spring.  Let's see how we did!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Autumn--Fall leaves

OMG don't look!  This is soooooo embarrassing!  The Crumpet and I are wearing the same outfit!  This has honestly never happened to me before!

LOL!  I'm sure by now you've guessed most of us in the Digit-al Dozen have known each other for years and have been hanging around the same shady joints for years.  Debbie and I are definitely those two people.  We have totally different styles but on this day we found out we both did something so similar it was just hilarious to me.

She posted a pic of her mani while mine was freaking drying!  She lives across the pond for god's sake and here we were doing something really similar without even talking about it.  We thought it would be a great idea to post them today.

I guess you'll have to decide for yourself who wore it better!
I did this mani with a ton of  Darling Diva Witchee Collection Polishes--Shapeshifter, The Archanist, The Alchemist, Cast A Spell and The Witching Hour.  I also used her Green Diamond and well as Jade Mystic Gold
My base is the gorgeous Billy Bones from Pahlish.  Seriously in love with this polish.  I know it's hard to see all the ultrachrome flecks in it but trust me they are there and gorgeous!
I stamped using one of my MJ plates.  FINALLY used this sucker!  I've had it for awhile but finally peeled off the blue film! MJ XLV has a lot of cool leaves and flower images on it
I know I sure loved this happy little accident!  I can't wait to check out what everyone else came up with today!  Is anyone else wearing my outfit?????

The Digit-al Dozen Does Autumn--Fall with a bite

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!  This week kicks off The Digit-al Dozen's Autumn week and living in Wisconsin I am happy to report we have a kick-ass Autumn season!  Autumn or Fall to me means a gorgeous scenery of yellows, orange, greens and browns.  It's apple harvesting, and corn harvesting and of course pumpkin picking!  It's comfortable days with cooler nights.  It's Packer football season spent watching the game with family and friends.  It's also Halloween!  There is alot going on in the Fall!!!

Today I decided to kick off my Digit-al Dozen week with a look that goes from Fall to Halloween--sweet to badass with just a couple of little change ups.  I actually really love this mani both ways!  First I started with one of my favorite Fall colors--Cast A Spell from Darling Diva.  This gorgeous coppery orange is from her Witchee Collection--my favorite collection of hers.  I stamped first the BN01 Bridal Nail collection from Messy Mansion.
This right here is just drop dead gorgeous to me.  Nothing says Autumn like orange and black together
I think this image makes this look so classy!
I love the Bridal Nail set from Messy Mansion all the images are just stunning
To give this same mani and edgier  look for Halloween I grabbed MM58 and a couple of the wicked cool skull images!
Same mani with just a couple of badass additions!
How cool is the dude on my ring finger???!!!
Total BADASS!  I love how with just these little additions I was able to turn this Autumn tapestry look into a wicked Halloween mani!

I'm going to head over to see what everyone else came up with for today!

Ready for Fall!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!  It is definitely starting to look like and feel like Fall around here and I am elated!  I hauled out a bunch of my "ready for Fall and Winter" polishes which means the Darling Diva Witchee Collection is front and center.  In my humble opinion this is the best collection she's had and I am so glad I have all of them!

I decided to start out my week with the gorgeous The Witching Hour which is a gorgeous dark teal.  I also hauled out my Uber Chic Wild West 01 plate--the one I bought 2 months ago and still had the freaking blue film on it and my Mundo Aqua to come out with this beauty!
This is one of those really easy and simple stamped mani's that just look stunning
Tone on tone stamping is always going to be my favorite I think
I know alot of you just live for summer neons but man oh man oh man these dark colors are my fave and I'm so glad I have a few months to play with these babies!
I've got some nice Fall/Autumn ideas churning in my head right now and would really like to do something with a dark brown.  Hopefully we'll see something cool with brown in the next few days!

The leaves are starting to turn here so definitely signs Winter is on its way--but hopefully it won't rush!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

No net to catch my fall!

Hi Everyone!  Holy cow I'm sorry I sorry I sort of fell off the face of the blogging earth like that!  My short absence was not intentional at all.  I guess life just sort of caught up to me then knocked me down and dragged me under for a few days.

Today I am enjoying a lovely day indoors.  It is gorgeous out but chilly chilly chilly and more chilly.  The sun is out which is great BUT it's not even 50 degrees out!  And it's May!

A few days ago I did a really lovely layering I want to show you.  I started with Elevation Polish Sunset Among The Palms which is nice magenta/pinkish scattered holo with grey  flakies in it.  I really love it because it looks lovely indoors and outdoors.  I decided to layer Darling Diva's The Immortal over it because The Immortal is a holo topper with charcoal flakes in it and ooooh gorgey town!  I just love, love, love, love, LOVE how this turned out!
Isn't this just lovely?!
Can you see those lovely charcoal flakes in it??!!!!

So after wearing it a day or two I decided to do some stamping over it!
My first thought as to do a grey gradient stamping but I just wasn't feeling it
I hauled out my favorite Mundo de Unas color---Holland Blue and stamped with it
I used plate JQL-05 which is from a set I  got on Aliexpress
At the last minute I added a cute accent flower from the same plate with Mundo de Unas Nabu.  This was really an easy stamped design but really turned out cute!

Tomorrow is June I think all of us in Wisconsin are wondering if  it will be Summer with it--I mean really we haven't even had Spring yet LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all are enjoying your Sunday afternoon!

In a hurry? No worries part 2!

Hi Everyone!  I've got another 30 minute manicure from the Advanced Nail Stamping Group's latest challenge.  This one is SOOOOOO pretty.  I decided to copy my whole "start with a great base" idea from yesterday so I chose the gorgeous Darling Diva Are You Medusa? Because You Make Me Rock Hard! and then just do some simple stamping over it.  Again just because you know how to do more doesn't always mean you should.  This is another simple stamping mani that took me less than 30 minutes to do and it's gorgeous!
Medusa is a gorgeous cherry red scattered holo.  I love bases like this, it's like they glow from within!
I wanted to let this beautiful base show as much as possible so simple stamping was what I wanted.
I really love my Born Pretty Store BP-L003 plate so it was a no brainer to grab this and then stamp with my fave gold China Glaze Passion
GLOWY!!!!!!! Gorgeous and glowy!
Another winner with this manicure for sure
And because Medusa is darn close to a one coater this took less time than yesterday's mani!
What do you think???? Isn't this just gorgeous?

Hope everyone is having a great day!  Thanks for stopping in!
