I don't even know where I am anymore!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Sunday!! I HAVE THE DAY OFF! FINALLY!  Okay well I did have off on Thursday but I spent that day with the family LOL!  I worked Friday and Saturday and tomorrow I start back at the bakery so I'll be doing my 70 hours a week work week!  I am trying my hardest to make sure I get something posted daily but it might be hit and miss!

I have decided my best friends while I'll be working so much are going to be some suedes, mattes and textured polishes!  Why?! Well they are super gorgeous on their own and I don't always feel the need to stamp on them and they dry fast!  Of course over the next two weeks I have two challenge groups as well!  Tomorrow kicks off my Japanese theme challenge.  At first I wasn't going to do it but then I got to feeling guilty about it so I'm working today to do some knock out Japanese themed mani's!

BUT up first I have this really cool silvery and pink mani!  It sort of tells the story about how I feel right now! Which way is up?  Is it daytime or night time???  Does anyone know where I am or where I'm supposed to be???
I paired the lovely OPI This Gown Needs A Crown with Pure Ice Draped!
This Gown Needs A Crown is a satin finish polish and it is SO sparkly and gorgeous!
I did some stamping with SA 05 and like how this turned out!

I hope OPI makes more of these satin finishes!  They are totally up my alley!
And honestly you can not go wrong with pink, silver and black--EVER!

So some exciting news--I FINALLY BOUGHT A CAMERA!  OMG I finally pulled the plunge on Black Friday and ordered a Panasonic Lumix.  I've needed a new one since this summer.  I'm still very nervous.  I just want to be able to provide the best pics possible.  Next up is working on a dedicated light box area although the pics I take a work are pretty darn good LOL!  I just haven't decided if I should wait until Christmas to open it or start checking it out the 2nd I get it!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  I'll try to keep everyone posted on my comings and goings as much as possible during this month.  Let's ALL cross our fingers I don't put back any of the 41 pounds I've lost!

Tale As Old As Time

Hey Everyone!! Happy Mother's Day to all my readers who are moms!  Today's challenge theme for Adventures In Stamping is Your Favorite Fairy Tale.  Yikes!  I'm not kidding when I say I didn't really have a favorite fairy tale growing up.  I'm pretty old, so we didn't have all the wonderful Disney movies when I was a kid.  Bambi, Dumbo, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella that was pretty much it.  And while I didn't have much of a fascination with them I really LOVED Tarzan LOL!  When I was a young girl it was dream to be a Missionary in Africa driving around in my Winnebago.  I always figured if I got into any trouble, like fall in quick sand or almost getting eaten by a lion that Tarzan would swoop down and save me.  My poor dad had to break it to his daughter, Tarzan wasn't real.  OH THE HORROR!

My sweet friend Jin says the reason I love all my "mommy porn" books is because of the Tarzan fascination.  She tells me all guys in my "mommy porn" books are like Tarzan LOL!  She might be right!  I do so love my big alpha males!

Okay so no Tarzan for me, I mean how would I stamp Tarzan?  And he's not remotely similar to a fairy tale at all--so next up to bat is my favorite Fairy Tale brought to movie--Beauty And The Beast.  How can anyone not love a tale about a girl looking past the outside of a man to fall in love with the inside?  How does anyone not love the message of a story when it's "true love conquers all"?

So with that in mind I give you my interpretation of Beauty And The Beast
I sort of stayed within the color realm of blue and yellow for this one
And I have to say I think my yellow gradient is a really awesome gradient!  Too bad I didn't get pics of it without stamping over it!
I used all 3 Bundle Monster sets to create this beauty too!  My index and pinkie are Orly Sweet Peacock with a coat of Milani Blue Flash over it, some white striping and then stamping with BM16.  My thumb and swear are a gradient of Pure Ice A List and Orly Sweet Peacock with stamping of BM221.  My ring finger is a gradient of Sinful Unicorn, Zoya Pippa, and Sinful Pull Over stamped with BM323
I really wanted to do an interpretation of the story and not use a plate with images of the story.  I'm glad it turned out the way I imagined!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!!!

What exactly is a Punk Rock?

Hi Everyone!  I would love to say happy Saturday BUT early this morning at 4am WHILE I WAS SLEEPING a great tragedy befell Mr Pinkie.  I don't know what happened but we lost him in the wee hours of the morning!  So now here I am in the real world with nubbins *shudders*  Naturally I have a few posts I didn't get up before this happened.  Today's mani is one of them.  So tomorrow when I post my AIS challenge with short nubbins try not to be too freaked out LOL!

I had done this mani awhile ago actually and thought about it for an Autism Awareness mani.  When I showed a few of polish friends they told me it looked "punk"  UM I'm not really sure what "punk" is but here's the mani!
I used the luscious Pure Ice French Kiss and Zoya Dove at the recommendation of blue and grey from my friend Ashley!  GREAT IDEA, ASH!
I have been wanting to use my safety pin image from DRK-B so I thought these colors were perfect for that!
I topped a few nails with Cover Band's Sticks n Stones and BAM
A star is born!

I'm sad about my break this morning BUT it also gives me a chance to use some plates I have that are just too small for my nails now!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all have a great weekend!

Oppa Ruffian Style! Ruffian Style!

Hi Everyone!  The other day there was another sighting of the mean girls club over on Lancome's FB page.  My fab friend Nory from Fierce Makeup and Nails did a lovey Ruffian that Lancome posted on their FB wall and oh my word some of the women commenting were complete wenches!  It was pretty redonkulous yet again.  I just do not get why women in the nail polish world think they have the right to be rude.  My goodness what is wrong with the world today?  If you don't have anything nice to say then zip it!

I'm not sure how you can not know what a Ruffian is in this day and age--in the nail world that is, but apparently they hadn't seen one before because they thought it looked like a grown out manicure--of fake nails no less! OIY!

To stick it the man, or in this case, the mean girls over on Lancome's FB page I did a lovely Ruffian to honor my sweet friend Nory!
I chose Pure Ice Alter Ego and Sinful Colors Sugar Rush for my Ruffian.  My fab friend Anissa sent it to and I loved it the minute I saw it!
I wanted a little somethin' somethin' to go with it so I added a little dragonfly decal
I find it a little sad these days it seems so much easier to cut someone down than it does to raise someone up--it's really such a shame.

This is the lovely Ruffian Nory did--I just love it!
Perfectly executed!

I just love a good Ruffian--how about you?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Hearts n Glitter!

Morning Everyone!! Happy Saturday!  I was mia yesterday because I spent some time with my mom who had to have some day surgery.  My poor mom is one of those people with kidney stones.  She had to have them "blasted" to break them up.  This is the 4th time she's had to have this done in her life.  I finally asked her this last time, "mom why does this always happen to you?" and she said, "you are either a person who makes stones or you aren't"  Geeze I guess I'm glad I'm a non stone maker!

She is doing great though, not too much bruising and just a little discomfort.  I'm going to go over there today and hang out with her and watch some movies and eat some ice cream!  The woman is an ice cream hoarder I swear! She has Dove bars in there from this summer that haven't been eaten lol!

Today I have Pink Clockwork on over black!  Oooooh it's SO hot over black!  I used Revlon Black Pearl because I love that's it's a soft black and not a hard one.  I added some cute Pure Ice Crackle hearts to it as well.
I don't even feel bad for wearing hearts in March because these crackle hearts are so cool!
I think Pink Clockwork is awesome over black!
Glitters this cool are always worth the removal lol!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Broken hearts do mend!

Hi Everyone!! Happy weekend!  What do you all have planned this weekend?  I'm going to do some shopping with my mom and spend some time hanging with my sweet grand nephew--Sean.  Winter storm Nemo passed and our official snow fall was 7.2 inches.  It looks GORGEOUS outside!  I'm going to try to snap some pictures of it when I head out this morning.  I know it makes driving difficult and no one likes to shovel but when you see the true beauty of a snowfall you forget about all of that.

Today I'm featuring ANOTHER Valentine's Day mani--let's face it I'll probably do so everyday until the big day arrives lol!  This one was was so easy to do especially with the help of a gorgeous velvet finish polish from Pure Ice
I did a crackle accent nail with Pure Ice Hot Couture over black--I love Pure Ice Crackles--I think they are the best Crackles you can get.  I cut out a heart image in masking tape, placed it on my finger and painted Hot Couture over the tape. I did a simple heart gradient by using the same heart cut out and gradienting with a sponge over it for the other accent nail. And my finishing touch was Pure Ice Stunning for the rest of my fingers.
I absolutely LOVE the Pure Ice velvet polishes!

Even in the shade this mani is adorable!
Thanks for stopping by today!!  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!

This could be an obsession!

Hi Everyone!  OMG I just cannot believe how much I love this Sally Hansen Save The Date!  I did ANOTHER gradient with it and super loved it, wore it for an entire day AND THEN stamped over it to get another day's wear out of it!  I know I say this all the time but I think I want to marry Save The Date!

Here is the gorgeous gradient I did using it and Pure Ice Girl's Best Friend
I just really love the gorgeous rich color of Save The Date

Here's a friendly tip though don't abbreviate it how we often do for polish like how Mad As A Hatter is abbreviated MAAH or Vampire State Building is VSB because Save The Date is STD!
Pure Ice Girl's Best Friend is a super lovely bordeaux with teeny holographic sparkle!  It complimented Save The Date perfectly!

I wore the mani as above for a whole day and LOVED it!  Then this morning I stamped over it and loved it all over again!

I used a swirly design from Gals 44 and China Glaze Passion.  I often refer to Passion as the McGuyver of stamping because it has saved many a mani for me!
I think this turned out fantastic!
If you don't have Save The Date you love the burgundy and wine colored polishes get out to pick one up ASAP!!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Somewhere over the rainbow peacocks fly???

Hi Everyone!  I hauled out some of these matte's I have because A I love them and B I need to start using all this stash I have amassed.  I mean seriously I have so much polish I haven't even used once for crying out loud.  And it's getting rather ridiculous!

I've had Zoya Savita for ages and didn't even use it until the other day!  I decided to yank it again and use it along with Veruschka and my new Pure Ice Blue Midnight.  Check out what I came up with!

Wow! I really, really, REALLY love how this turned out!  I wanted it to look like a peacock that's why I went with the gold in the half moon.

I stamped over it using BM212 but I wasn't madly in love with it
Not sure if it was the shiny top coat on it I didn't like
Or maybe it just covered up too much of the gorgeous gradient
I decided to matte it to see if I would like it better
Better but really it looked the best without stamping over it I think

What do you think--do you like without the stamping?  Do you prefer the matte over the shiny look?

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a fantastic day!

Sunday Challenge--blue! Pass or fail?

Hi Readers!  The facebook stamping group's challenge is blue all blue nothing but the blue!  Wow I thought I would do great with this one but really I'm not sure i pulled it off.  I had all these good intentions great blue underwear and tealy blue crackle and them stamping in blue.  In my mind I pictured a blue dragon and it's scales.  On my nails--ug not so much!

I started with a new blue I got from my friend Charlotte, OPI Swimsuit Nailed It. It's a gorgeous metallic blue.  Then I did an aqua blue to teal shift crackle from Pure Ice Called Strike A Pose, then I stamped with China Glaze Adore using plate BM224
See what I mean? Good intentions just not good follow through :(
And look at my pinkie? Where did that wrinkling come from?
I wasn't happy with this.  You couldn't see the cool crackling through the stamping.  I decided to go a different route.  This is better but just not spectacular which is what I was going for
This time I just went straight up Swimsuit Nailed It with Adore.  I stamped using image BM202.
This design looks good with flash I think!
I was hoping to pull this off as a dragon scale look and leave it on both hands but really BM202 doesn't look too dragony (ha is that even a word? I don't think so!)
I had the camera man home so he grudgingly took a pic.  It didn't turn out so great (as always it seems when I get assistance from the camera man)
What do you think readers?  Do you think a challenge of wearing only blue an stamping with only blue is easy or hard?  I wish this mani would have turned out the way I saw it in my head.  Oh well tomorrow is another day!

Thanks for stopping buy!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!
