Digit-al Dozen Does Books--Day 4!

Hi Everyone!! Today I'm featuring a book that had a great impact on my life.  I was a young teenage girl when I read this book.  It was a reading assignment in school, I believe it was the 8th grade.  I cried in the book so when it was time to watch the movie in class I knew I wasn't going to make it without bawling.  Pretty much the whole knew it too.  I'm a pretty big movie crier and as I had cried in both The Yearling and Brian's Song my English class knew I was go to be a crier in this one as well.

The book I'm featuring today is To Kill A Mockingbird.  It is still one of the very best books I've ever read.  The story of Atticus, Scout and Jem Finch is enthralling as much as it is innocent and funny.  The exploits of Scout and her brother Jem and the boy visiting for a vacation, Dill--keep the story light at times and full of laughter.  The racial injustice done to a client Atticus is appointed too is the true powerhouse behind the book.  A young black man is accused of raping a young white woman.  Sometimes I wonder why we were so young when we read this story, but then again when you're old 14 seems so young.  14 was probably the perfect age to learn the world is not a perfect place.

To Kill A Mockingbird is the only book ever published by Harper Lee.  It was loosely based on her hometown and an event that happened not too far away.  I guess if you're only going to get one book published it should be something as fantastic as To Kill A Mockingbird.

I picked up one of the new Sally Hansen fuzzy coats the other day and thought it would be perfect for this mani idea
I stamped with BM301 and DRK-C over a black and grey gradient
Thinking of this book today really takes me back!
When you're young you get a little bent out of shape at the books you "had" to read in school, but I never did feel that way.  I remember every book I ever "had" to read in English classes through the years and I'm so grateful to have them be a part of my life!

Take a look at books my other friends chose for today!
