The Digit-al Dozen Does Decades--the 60's!

Hi Everyone!  Wow if you're in the Midwest I hope you are all above ground and dry!  Holy cow did we ever get some torrential rain last night.  I was out with friends until pretty late and driving home felt more like motor boating home than it did driving!  But it was SO worth it!  I love getting together with my nail polish friends even if last night was all about stuffing our faces with yummy food and just talking about nails instead of doing nails LOL!

So how about that first day yesterday?! OMG what another great theme for us!  I love being in a group of women who are very diverse, who have different talents for nail art, and who come up with some fan-freaking-tastic ideas!

Today I decided to show case my birth decade and do the 60's.  During the 60's we saw a lot of the rigidity in our culture dissipate.  We saw the Vietnam war reek havoc on our Nation and for the first time since the Civil War we saw Americans strike out against Americans because of it.  John F Kennedy rose to great fame--an Irish Catholic President who was then savagely assassinated right in front of his wife.  Not only did we witness the assassination of a president, Malcom X, Martin Luther King, Jr and Bobby Kennedy would all be assassinated in the 60's decade.

It was truly a time of unrest and the battle cry of the 60's became Make Love Not War.  In a decade of free love war had never been more of out place.  Today I'm showcasing my Make Love Not War mani

I had some help with this one from the lovely No More War from Rescue Beauty Lounge
I am a sucker for those "ugly" pretty colors!
I think Tie Dye and Camouflage represent the 60's quite well today what do you think?

Let's stop by and check out what decade everyone else had in mind for today!

  2. This is such a great mani - I love the combo of camo and tie dye, it's perfect. It reminds me of that famous image of a woman putting a flower into a gun.
