Mermaid Mani I just can't quit you!

Hi Readers!  I think we all know how much I love mermaid tail mani's!  I did one for my very first post, and just recently  I did one that was a winner in the lastest Bundle Monster contest so there is just no way I could ever quit doing them!  Now I won't lie some of them I have liked much better than others, but no matter what I love, love, LOVE a mermaid tail mani!  Today is no different.  You may have noticed I've picked myself up nicely from the fiasco of the pastel gradient and how once again climbed to the highest gradient mountain.  Good lord I hope I don't fall off of this perch as it's quite high.  Awhile ago I made a couple of frankens in the process of trying to dupe A England's, Tristan and Lady of the Lake.  In my opinion I nailed Tristan but not so much on Lady of the Lake.  My franken is still quite lovely though!  I decided to pair them with A England's St George for this scattered holo gradient

I know most of the world is in love with linear holo's but I think I prefer the scattered holo.  
While this gradient is so, so lovely you know I had to stamp on it!

I -used a gold I frankened awhile ago to stamp I love how it's a subtle gold and not a bold in your face one.

No matter what I just think you can't ever go wrong with mermaid tail's on your nails!

What's Red and Black and White all over???

Hi Readers!  Wait---What??? Isn't it what's black and white and red all over??? Well not this mani!  Before I show you this beauty let me just say I think I have a problem.  Yes it's true, I'm pretty positive I am addicted to gradients.  I don't know if they have a 12 step program for it or not and even if they do I don't think I want to stop!  I know they craze these days does seem to be gradients and bless everyone's heart for figuring out how to do them BUT I've been doing them this way for awhile now lol!  Trust me Readers, the triangle makeup sponge with the polish painted on them directly while a damp is the way to go! Holy Shiz this is a thing of beauty!  No namby pamby pastel or neon gradient to see here--this is a deep, dark vampy gradient!

And you know I don't ever leave well enough alone so . . .

I had to finagle this one too readers.  The image I used to stamp with is BM209.  It's not a full image rather a half image.  I had to scrape half of it off the stamp each time before I transferred it onto my nails because I wanted it to fit on on the side of the nail and not half of the nail.  I really love how it turned out!

Me and Jules Verne go 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea

Hi Readers!  Today I'm wearing another fantastic polish from Michelle of Sonoma Nail Art!  Her stuff is just fab and when I saw the prototype for this I just new I HAD to have it!
She named this one 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.  It's fabulous blue, green and white glitter in a clear base.  You've got micro glitter and and square glitter and large hex glitter here people it's phenomenal!!!  I decided to layer mine over the way cool polish Claudia sent me awhile ago.  Here is 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea over H&M Nail Him

See what I have going on here Readers???? SKELLY FISH!!!!  You know I had to haul out the skelly fish for a 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea mani!!!!
What I love about the 20,000 Leagues is the white hex glitter, it really looks like bubbles when I stamped the fish and seahorse over it!

Thumbie looks good too, BUT this is the only pic I have of him and he's a bit blurry.  I think he was drinking too much rum or something!

Michelle is really known for her labels too--they are all so awesome--did you see the octopus on this one??????

I used a few different plates to do the stamping.  The blue and gold fish are SH19, the large skelly fish on my thumbs is SH02, the small skelly fish are from my beloved BM04 and the seahorse is from MASH m27.  I filled in the goldfish with China Glaze DV8 and It's My Turn.  I used HITS Ares for the skelly fish eyes!  All in all this is one cute mani!

Michelle is working diligently to get more product done for her etsy store.  She is looking at  June opening for several of her fantastic polishes--this being one of them!

Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday--Rebecca Likes Nails!

Hi Readers!  Today's MSMD mani is a fun one!  I saw my internet daughter do this awhile ago and I thought to myself--man she is SO smart! Why didn't I do this???  I'm not going to tell her that though, she already has a big head!  So check it out Readers!

Yep that's right!!! Today's mani is Amy's Nailventurous Floam with stamping!

The black over the neon yellow and blue Floam looks SO cool!

Definitely a great summer time look!

Amy really nailed the name on this one too!  It totally does look like the toy, Floam!
To see my internet daughter's mani of Floam with stamping check here.  I used 2 coats of Floam for my mani instead of an undercoat.  It's a very hungry glitter Readers and I did use 2 coats of Seche Vite but really I think it would have looked even better with 3 coats.  I stamped using Konad M65 with my Kleancolor black.

Oh How the Mighty Have Fallen!

Hi Readers!  As you all know I've been on a gradient kick for awhile and they have been turning out fantastic!  I decided to follow The Swatchaholic's idea of a pastel gradient and holy crap this is just not me!  I have fallen from my lofty perch and landed in the muck with this one!

I hated this one so much I didn't even bother to stamp over it to try and save it!

I don't know where I went wrong--true I don't have the pastel Illamasqua's she used.  True I don't like pastels lol, but hers is so freaking gorgeous I thought just maybe I could pull this off! Nope mine looks like caca!
Look at how pretty hers is!

I just shook my head in disbelief and despair and decided to call it a day!


Hopefully I'll be able to pull myself back up off the ground and go on from here!

Happy Holo Day!!

Hi Readers!  Now that the weather is starting to warm up a bit at least here in Wisconsin I decided to get in with some of my other nail polish friends to do a holo day group blog!  A year ago I made a ton of holo's with spectraflair and have not worn many of them! I know Readers it's a darn shame but truth be told I'm not holo crazy the way I am duochrome crazy lol!  Anyway I decided I really needed to haul out some of the homemade holos then felt guilty I bought DV8 months ago and hadn't worn that so the quest was on to find something to wear with DV8.  We all know I have an addiction to gradients so I'm not even going to try to pretend I hadn't planned on a holo gradient because we all know I did.  And here it is!

I did this at night so we have to settle for the lamp lighting on some of these.  Basically my gradient is using 2 of my home made holos with DV8 sandwiched in the middle.
This one I named True Confessions, it's just a smidge lighter and bluer than DV8 I think

This isn't the best pic but it's the only one I have holding the dark blue I made named Hotter After Midnight

And of course the lovely DV8

And of course I stamped over it!

I thought about peacock feathers and mermaid tail tail stamping for this but my lovely internet daughter Rebecca mentioned everyone seems to be peacocky these days so I went with the waves.  I'm glad I did!  The sun was out today so I went out in my jammies to get some pics!  No one came by to arrest me so I figure my neighbors are used to seeing people either in their pajamas or acting a little nuts taking pics of their fingers LOL!

I definitely think waves were the way to go for this one!

Is it helpful for you to see the sponge Reachers or would you rather I just showed the polishes?  From left to right are my homemade holo True Confessions, China Glaze DV8, my homemade holo Hotter After Midnight.  For new readers joining me I like to name all my frankens after my favorite books.  True Confessions is a fab book from Rachel Gibson and Hotter After Midnight is a HOT book from Cynthia Eden.  To get my waves I used the swirl design from Shany SH19 and I stamped with my new fave white White On from Milani.

A trip down memory lane

Hi Readers!  Happy Friday!  Today's mani is sort of a trip down memory lane for me.  The other day when I was out and about I saw an old black Chevelle that really reminded me of my first love--Dave Haas.  He was sort of the bad boy and I was definitely the goody goody two shoes girl but man that guy held my heart for a few years lol.  He had a few cars the years I knew him but the last one was this black Chevelle "muscle" car.  When I first saw someone sponge on a crackle polish the effect to me looked like the back seat of this car--those seats weren't in the best condition lol.  I decided to haul out my flocking and combine the sponged crackle with it to come up with trip down memory lane mani

It might be hard to see the flocking in the pics as my camera isn't too high tech lol but for a day only mani it was pretty cool.  Notice the pristine white of my goody two shoes angora sweater lol!

How cool is this??!!!  I have to save I love, love, LOVE sponging on crackle!  It's just so cool!

The little heart I glued on there lasted the whole day too!

Have you ever seen something out of the blue that makes you take that walk down memory lane Readers?  I did get a little smile out of this one I will say.
