When mani's attack episode 17!

Hi Readers!  Have you ever done something when you should have just stopped at step 1?  Today is a lesson in that for sure!  I recently got some OPI Shatters from from fab friend Silver over at The Silvernator.  Apparently, fool that she is, she's not a fan of shatter! I know right????! I love her but she is cray-cray!  I got a lovely bottle of Turquoise Shatter from her my bad because I didn't know there was an OPI Turquoise Shatter and it's freaking gorgeous!  I really wanted to use this bad boy immediately so I set off trying to think of some great color combinations for it.  I decided to do something with my Zoya Beaches and chose Wednesday (mostly because I get a kick out of that name) and Tracie.  I mean honestly is this not a gorgeous gradient in which to start your day?
These are just yummy colors together!
Next up the Turquoise Shatter
Ruh-ro Where did my gradient go?

Remember my failed Illamasqua and Clarins 230 mani? I thought hey maybe I can McGuyver this sucker with some gold stamping so I hauled out Passion and stamped over it--um silly me I didn't take pics of that carnage.  I tried to save it yet again by stamping over it AGAIN with black.

UG! Check out this monstrosity
Really what is this thing????
This is DEFINITELY not one of my finer manicure moments that's for sure!

Here's it is good, bad, worse LOL!

Sometimes it's best to stop when you're ahead which in this case would have been the gradient LOL!!!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

She sells sea shells by the sea shore!

Hi Readers!!! Today's Summer Challenge theme is sea shells.  I was really stumped at first because honestly sea shells are kind of ugly!  The are just brown, white or grey and not much to look at.  The insides of some sure are pretty though.  My first thought was to do black and then stamp with some pretty pastel metallics using the sea shell image from the first Bundle Monster set BUT then something else came to me.  I thought about how gorgeous an abalone shell is and wanted to see if I could recreate it.  My first thought was doing a glitter or glass fleck sponging and then water marbling with black and clear to get the squiggly lines that run through an abalone shell.  I knew the clear or light pink I use to water marble like that sometimes could dull my mani so I had to come up with something else.  Here's what I came up with instead
Too bad I didn't get out in the full sun for these pics! Maybe I'll try tomorrow morning and add them to the post later lol!
I love how sparkly this is!
But the true beauty in this baby is how great it looks in shade!!
Simply stunning!
Here's what I drew my inspiration from
How'd I do?
What did I use to create this masterpiece?? I started with a base color of Milani Black Swift.  Then in random swirls I used WetnWild Coloricon Born Into Privilege, Bow In My Presence, and Speak When Spoken To.  The WetnWild's are all dupes for the China Glaze Prismatics.  Next I stamped using Kleancolor Black and the squiggly line design from Cheeky 16.  I really love how this turned out!  I'm pretty sure I'm going to be working on a ring and bracelet set to match this mani!

Please be sure to check out what the other gals did for their sea shell theme! Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

The only flip flops you'll ever see me wear!

Hi Readers!  Today's mani is featuring 2 things I don't really wear lol! Neons and flip flops.  You won't catch me dead with a hard rubber/plastic/elastic/jewelled strap between my toes!  So I decided to throw this little mani together as as way to wear some neons AND some flip flops!
This is pretty cute and fun and a way to wear a thong without hurting anything LOL!
I did some gradients with last years China Glaze neons because hey I already have these and I don't really wear them much so need to buy this years lol!  I stamped using Milani Black Swift and BM309.  I've heard some people mention they only bought the 3rd set of Bundle Monster's for the flip flop image!  I think that's a bit cray cray because the entire set is awesome but too each his own!
This is one fun image though I'll give em that!!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Summer Challenge Pink and Purple!

Hi Readers!  Today's Summer Challenge is actually near and dear to me because I decided to honor my two beautiful sisters with the pink and purple theme.  Many of you know I lost a sister to breast cancer almost 3 years ago and my little sister suffers from bi-polar disorder.  We all know pink symbolizes breast cancer but you might not know the Iris is the symbol for mental illness/mental health.  So when I saw pink and purple I knew immediately I needed to do something to honor my beautiful sisters who have and who had to struggle through so much.  This mani today is just my way of recognizing all they've gone through.  My gradient is Zoya Shelby and Mira and Cult Nails Vicious.  I stamped Milani White On using BM321.  My accent finger is a base of MY Zoya namesake, Laurie, using the gradient colors and BM317
To be perfectly honest this was not a gradient I did that I loved until I stamped over it!  I kid you not.  I looked at it and was like meh I am not loving this.  Once I got the hearts over it I fell in love with it LOL!
And let me tell you something Readers, my Zoya namesake Laurie is SO unlike me lol!  Pale pink is the farthest thing from what I am!!

I had originally used Zoya Carly and Rory to stamp the ribbons with on my right hand but I didn't feel it matched the gradient enough.  BUT man do the Zoya Surf collections stamp great!

Here's a picture of the polishes I used and how my sponge looked--it's a bit blurry but I took it at 11:30pm WAY past my bedtime LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

We're trying a Inlinkz code today!

Summer Challenge--Beach Towels!!

Hi Readers!  Today's Summer Challenge theme is beach towels and I'm not going to lie I drew a blank!  This is Wisconsin Readers and even though I live on Lake Michigan have a ton of lakes Up North I'm not really a beach person lol!  I had to google beach towel images to get some ideas!  Here's what I came up with!
I love my thumb but the rest of them are just so so to me lol!
Thumbie really takes the cake I think!
Too bad I was SO tired when I snapped pics of this and didn't really moisturize before my pics.  Acetone works great for removing your polish but it sure dries out your skin!

This was a fun mani to do but no way would I have been able to wear these all day!  Here are the pics of some of the towels I found to get some inspiration from

This one was the one where I said, "dang it now I wish I had gotten that plate with the cute turtles on it"

Check out my other friends doing the Summer Challenge and see what they came up with for beach towels

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday--Nail Nerd!

Hi Readers!  I have a mani that's right up my alley today only I'm not the one who thought it up!  I found this via my friend Kim who found it on Pinterest a few days ago, which then made me wonder how come I didn't remember seeing it before!  I love Nail Nerd's site LOTS OF AMAZING STUFF THERE!  This is the lovely mani for today--it's so delish!
A super simple gradient using Color Club With Abandon which is an incredibly gorgeous deep chocolate brown glass fleck finish and then Funky Fingers Platinum Record.
The stamping is the sweet entwined heart which also looks like people kissing to me from BM212.  I love this super sweet and easy mani!

Here's the gradient without the stamping--GORG!
If you haven't checked out Nail Nerd.com yet please do so!  You can find her original mani here!

Here's a pic of her's though to compare
Looks like she's a lefty!  Isn't it scrumptious??!!!!!!

And check out my latest ebay ring purchases!  They look awesome with this mani!

Summer Challenge--Pedicure! WARNING TOE PICS AHEAD!

******WARNING******WARNING******WARNING******WARNING******WARNING****

TOE PICS AHEAD! TOE PICS AHEAD! TOE PICS AHEAD! TOE PICS AHEAD!

Hi Readers!  Just in case you missed it today's Summer Challenge theme is pedicure so TOE PICS AHEAD!  Some people are really funny about toes and feet.  I happen to be one of them but not the way many people think.  I like my feet and my toes.  I think I have nice looking feet.  I don't like anyone touching my feet nor do I like them touching their feet to mine.  So that lovely relaxing foot massage you always read about in romances NOT GONNA HAPPEN!  The sucking of the toes in all those erotica books I read NOT GONNA HAPPEN!  And get this Readers it's not gonna happen with a hot cowboy either that's how much I hate having my feet touched.  They even have it marked in my medical charts LOL!  I don't know if I told you this with my tattoo pic awhile ago but when I got my Elvis tattoo on my ankle the guy wanted to hold my foot and I said no.  He said he had to hold it to keep me from flinching.  I told him I would not flinch.  He was very reluctant to listen to me but went ahead anyhow and guess what??? I didn't flinch.  That's right no one touches my ding dang feet!

But okay with that let's move on to the pedi pic lol!  I don't know about you readers but us fat chicks cannot really stand and hold our feet together!  This was a lot harder than it might appear LOL!  I took a few pics, some outside in the dead brown grass at work--oh poor dry Wisconsin, some inside in the kitchen and then some outside in the parking lot.  I'm wearing Color Club Metamorphosis and Jordana Cosmic just like with my last mermaid mani.  YOu know this is going to stay on for awhile because glitter is a bizatch to get off your toes!

Okay first up inside in the kitchen

Next up outside in the parking lot in full sun

And a shot of the poor dead grass is the super dry Wisconsin
Our grass is usually so green and lush and feels great to walk on barefoot, the grass we have now reminds me of the hard, spiky, African like bush grass they have in Texas! UG!

I'm not opposed to showing you a couple of my favorite pedi's I've done over the years either.

This is one I did for a Packer game last year--not sure why I remember it was for a Packer game but it might be because I could still wear my Packer sandals in October LOL!

Here's another schnazzy one I did with my "these hurt my feet but they look good so I'm leaving them on" sandals

And last but not least my most favorite pedi I've ever done!  I just loved this one! My "alligator" toes

Thanks for surviving through the toe pics everyone!  Today is my niece's graduation party and wait until you see the awesome mani I came up with for it!

I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Make sure you check out the embarrassing foot pics of the other Summer Challengers!
