Hi Everyone!!! Happy Friday!!!! It's nice and sunny here but it is a little chilly. My Arizona friends are having 3 digit temps and we're barely cracking 70 here! I don't mind though! It's rough in the summer when you're a chinchilla owner. They do not tolerate the heat well at all and temps above 74 can actually kill them. Good thing for air conditioning but it sucks having to run it all the time!
Today is the last day of book week for the Digit-al Dozen. I have enjoyed doing my books alot. I saved the best for last--a cowboy romance! And not just any cowboy romance I've chosen my favorite cowboy romance OF ALL TIME!!!! I don't know if any of you read romance, if you and you love a hot and I mean HAWT cowboys you must, absolutely must read every single book in the Rough Riders series by Lorelei James. I am not lying when I say EVERY SINGLE BOOK IN THIS SERIES IS FANTASTIC!
But Tied Up, Tied Down is my all time favorite!! It's got a very strong heroine, Skylar and a super handsome, super sexy and MEGA alpha cowboy hero--Kade. These two together are more than explosive. Toss in an unplanned baby and BAM you've got sweet and sizzle.
Here's the mani I've created for my book
I tried to recreate some chaps on my swear and ring, the blue being the denim butt cheeks but it just didn't come across the way I'd hoped dang it!
Check out thumbie though!!!! A free hand cowboy hat!! SAH-WEET!
It still looks pretty cook though. And check out the color I used for the chaps
Texan Cowboy!!!! Perfect for this mani!!
Here's my book cover
Oh yummy! I wish I had a Kade to tie me up!
And check out the ring I'm wear I'm wearing with my mani!
My cowboy hat ring!!!
How fab is that???
Thanks for stopping by each day and checking out my book week. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
Make sure you stop by and check out what everyone else did for their last day!

Digit-al Dozen Does Books--Day 4!
Hi Everyone!! Today I'm featuring a book that had a great impact on my life. I was a young teenage girl when I read this book. It was a reading assignment in school, I believe it was the 8th grade. I cried in the book so when it was time to watch the movie in class I knew I wasn't going to make it without bawling. Pretty much the whole knew it too. I'm a pretty big movie crier and as I had cried in both The Yearling and Brian's Song my English class knew I was go to be a crier in this one as well.
The book I'm featuring today is To Kill A Mockingbird. It is still one of the very best books I've ever read. The story of Atticus, Scout and Jem Finch is enthralling as much as it is innocent and funny. The exploits of Scout and her brother Jem and the boy visiting for a vacation, Dill--keep the story light at times and full of laughter. The racial injustice done to a client Atticus is appointed too is the true powerhouse behind the book. A young black man is accused of raping a young white woman. Sometimes I wonder why we were so young when we read this story, but then again when you're old 14 seems so young. 14 was probably the perfect age to learn the world is not a perfect place.
To Kill A Mockingbird is the only book ever published by Harper Lee. It was loosely based on her hometown and an event that happened not too far away. I guess if you're only going to get one book published it should be something as fantastic as To Kill A Mockingbird.
I picked up one of the new Sally Hansen fuzzy coats the other day and thought it would be perfect for this mani idea
I stamped with BM301 and DRK-C over a black and grey gradient
Thinking of this book today really takes me back!
When you're young you get a little bent out of shape at the books you "had" to read in school, but I never did feel that way. I remember every book I ever "had" to read in English classes through the years and I'm so grateful to have them be a part of my life!
Take a look at books my other friends chose for today!

Digit-al Dozen Does Books--Day 3!
Hi Everyone!! Happy Hump Day! I have to say I'm glad we're in the middle of the week because I am ready for it to be over. I'm just pretty tired and feel like lazing around a bit. This weekend we are celebrating my grand nephew's birthday though so you know there won't be any lazing around for Tee Tee Laurie!
Today I based my mani on the cover of one of my favorite books ever. It's actually a tie because I love them both so much. I re-read this book ALL THE TIME!! Usually once a month. Yep re-read it from cover to cover, laugh at the same spots, cry at the same spots and get butterflies in my stomach at the same spots.
The name of the book is See Jane Score by Rachel Gibson. It's the first in her Chinook Hockey series and it's just to die for delicious. The heroine, Jane, is a reporter on assignment with the Chinook's hockey team. The hero, Luc "Lucky" Martineau is the team's goalie and an a number one hot hunk! How these two get together is a funny and super sexy story.
I just did a simple needle marble with Zoya Wednesday and China Glaze Flying Dragon, Purple Panic and Flip Flop Fantasy. My accent nail is Sinful Colors Unicorn and Zoya Wednesday with some stamping in Butter London Knees Up.
Here's the book cover
I think I did pretty good!
Let's check out what my co-horts have come up with!

Digit-al Dozen Does Books--Day 2!
Hi Everyone!!! Today is day 2 in the book theme, and OMG I did a mani based on the scariest book I have ever read . . . EVER! I was a young girl probably 6th or 7th grade when I first read the book. It terrified me!! It was almost the first and last book by Stephen King I read. I just can't do it you guys! He is a great descriptive writer therefore to me, too real! If you're not familiar with the book let me just tell you one thing . . . VAMPIRES! And the not the I'm in love with sparkly kind either. The super terrifying omg everyone in this town is a vampire terrifying!
Here's my take on the story
Some bats and some blood splatter! It gives me chills just thinking about this book!
Here's the book when it first came out in 1975, it has been reprinted more than one! OH THE HORROR!
I don't doubt for one second he's a literary genius, because you can be a master of horror and be a literary genius--I just wonder what kind of guy he is in real life! Can you imagine getting read a bed time story from him????
Let's see if anyone else is doing a scary book today!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Books--Smart Mouth
Hi Everyone!!! Happy Monday!! I'm so honored to announce I was asked to join the Digit-al Dozen! There's lots of great talent in this group and I certainly hope I can hold a candle to all the wonderful ladies in the group! This month the theme is books. Ooooh something so right up my alley. I am an avid book reader and no lie I try to read a book a day. I used to always be able to complete this task however since I've started doing my nails I don't always get a whole book in now. I just really like to read to start to finish because it's too stressful going to bed not knowing what happened to the characters LOL! I read mostly romance, and I read all genres of romance--romantic suspense, contemporary, paranormal and erotica. For this weeks challenge I do plan on switching it up though I just hope I can justice to all the great books I'm planning no doing.
My first book I'm featuring is Smart Mouth by Erin McCarthy. It's one of my favorite books. I'm a big re-reader and I've read it probably a 100 times and still love it each time I read it!
FBI agent Derek Knight finds himself squaring off with a cub reporter by the name of Reese Hamilton. Reese ends up with a top secret envelope of Derek's in her rental car and from there they are on a helluva adventure full of sass, spark, and undercover (as well as under THE covers) work. It's a super funny and sexy story.
I did some water marbling with Zoya Wednesday, Lara, and some black and white.
I never thought I would ever use BM303 yet it worked out perfectly for this mani! And I used the decal technique for the first time ever so I could get some pink lipstick!
Now here's my book cover
How'd I do?
Smart Mouth was published in 2004 and it's available in ebook format. If you like contemporary romance this one is funny as all get out, super sexy, and has a fantastic cast of characters.
I can't wait to check out and see what the rest of my friends have come up with!

Leopard A Day Week Day Seven!!!!!
Hi Everyone!!! Yay it's the last day of Leopard A Day Week--not yay that it's finally over but yay because I had so much fun doing this leopard long week. I think I need to do more weekly theme's like this. I know a lot of stampers feel the need to have a bazillion plates but when you think about it, one plate can give you a thousand designs by switching up the polish you have on underneath it. I will always be a more polish rather than more plates person.
I hauled out one of my first stamping plates to do today's leopard mani Konad M76
I did a lovely accent nail with BM221 and Nabi Flamingo. I love a scattered holo so much more than a linear because scattered holos are gorgeous without sunlight!
Lots of little sparkle in Flamingo
My non nail polish friends refer to holographic or more correctly termed prismatic polishes as glittery!
The accent dots on Konad M76 are China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise and Purple Panic--2 of my all time favorite neons!
Sometimes there is just nothing better than a black and white manicure!!!
For me it's hard to pic a favorite of the week but I think my Day 5 and my Day 7 are my two faves!
This is what the week looks like all together!
Same leopard print stamp in almost every image but they all look different! you gotta love that!
Thanks for tuning in everyday this week to check them all out! I hope you all have a fantastic day!!

A Leopard A Day Week Day 6
Hi Everyone!!! Happy Saturday!!! It's a chilly day here but expected to get warmer. Today is the fundraiser walk for The Friendship House which is a club house for those with mental illness. Every day the members get a great hot lunch and they can come and hang out day and share fellowship, use the computers, listen to music, do crafts, and learn skills to help them look for a job. They all pitch in and help with chores and the cooking and cleaning. After the walk we're having a cookout of brats and hotdogs! I am definitely in for some brats that's for sure!!
I didn't have a lot of time to put together a leopard mani for today since I was out late again last night doing mani's and pedi's toward the camera fund raiser BUT the good news is I'm halfway to my goal of $200!! I think by the middle of next month I'll be the owner of a new camera!
I hauled out my Nabi Wine magnetic and then just stamped an accent nail
I love magnetic polishes! They are the easiest nail art around!!
I have a lot of trouble not staring at my hands all day when I have a magnetic on!
So we're almost at the end of the journey! I can't believe it!! I sure had a lot of fun doing this. I'll have to think of another week long same image thing to do--maybe week long zebra??
Here's where we're at so far
Tomorrow's the last day!!! Hope I can pull off something great!
