Green lucky or pukey?

Hi Readers--Holy Hannah readers are you getting sick of green yet?  When will this be over??? LOL!  I always thought blue was a problem color for me and since I have twice as many blues as greens I'd guess you call blue a catastrophe color and green just a problem color.  Today I'm featuring ANOTHER magnetic!  I'm not sure if I mentioned it or not but just in case I didn't I love the Nabi magnetic polishes and have 2 of the green ones!  All in all I have a total of 3 green magnetic polishes and possibly 4 if we're considering the olive green/gold Icing one a green lol!
Here's a simple mani I did using a green magnetic polish and then stamping with a Celtic type design.  Simple but super pretty!
I love how a magnetic polish gives the appearance of nail art when really there isn't any! How cool is that???!!!!
The days are drawing near to St Patrick's Day and I for one am glad.  It means corned beef dinner AND I can wear some of my non green polishes LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

I know someone famous--do you??

Hi Readers!  It's been a year now since I've started stamping and I can't believe it!  I have gotten SO much better.  I think Amazon everyday for those recommendations it kept giving me based on the few OPI's I snagged on there lol.  I kept seeing Konad and Bundle Monster images and one night I said just what exactly are these things and from there it was all she wrote!  I did a lot of "google" searching and one of the first tutorials I came across was this one.Little did I know just a few weeks later I would actually meet Gina that great person behind the nails!  We both entered a Bundle Monster contest and I recognized her entry as she used Granny's Afghan.  We started to talk via the contest and I learned not only does she have fantastic YouTube tutorials she is sweet as heck!  We've been friends ever since! If you've always been wanting to try stamping but were afraid to give it a try watch all of Gina's tutorials.  She is VERY creative!  To honor her today AND keep up with my St Patrick's Day Theme I totally copied this one from her!  She and I both share a love of the magnetic polishes so you know she has to be cool lol!  Here's the tutorial on YouTube
So St Patricky and SO easy!  I would have never, ever thought of striping on the magnetic--this is why I need Gina lol!
Here's a close up
I used a Nabi magnetic here and actually used the magnet that came with it as I was covering a smaller surface.  I left the shamrock off on this mani as I had used shamrocks a few times and needed a little change lol!

I really love this green Nabi but how it looks on the nail is WAY different than the bottle! Check it out!
In the bottle the green is a light green but once you get the magnet to do it's magic you get a gorgeous emerald green!
Here's a swatch of it on my nails without any artwork
Love, love, LOVE this one! And thanks to Gina I could spice it up a bit!

I have a HUGE collection of these Nabi magnetic polishes.  They are super affordable and have a ton of colors--you should be able to find them at Walgreen's.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Elven magic and I'm not talking Keebler elves people!

Hi Readers!  Are you getting sick of green yet????  I have to say I for one am not!  I'm featuring another foil from Dollar Nail Art today but this time I'm also letting a gorgeous green polish shine right along with it!  Igor gave me Morbid eons ago and I've never worn it! OMG the horror!  This is a GORGEOUS polish readers!  You'd think someone who owns Illamasqua Viridian might not say a less than $3 polish is gorgeous but Morbid is far from morbid readers!  If you love green and you can get your hands of a bottle of this DO IT!
Here I have a base color of Morbid and then I did a little more than half the nail with a foil called Elven Gold--it's magical!
I did full coverage with Elven Gold on my ring finger and then stamped the cross image from BM01 hoping to get a Celtic Cross look.  I like it alot!
Here's some history on the Celtic Cross.  It's a cross with a circle around the to p of it.  The lore says when St Patrick first came to Ireland to teach Christianity to the Druids he learned they worshiped a large round stone.  He drew the symbol of the cross through the stone to draw them to Christianity.  It is known as the Celtic Cross.  The Circle represents no beginning or no end (eternal life).  It is worn by many today as both a symbol of their faith and their culture.

I've been busy these past few days too readers!  I've been making rings and bracelets up the wazoo.  Here's a cool ring I made that sort of matched the color and design of this mani
Here's a picture of the sets of rings and matching bracelets I made.  I really love how all of these turned out!
I'm running out of greens readers!  This might be a catastrophe lol!  I hope I can keep it up for a few more days!

Let's Get Cracking!

Hi Readers!  I don't know about you but here in my family we are chomping at the bit for St Patrick's Day!  We LOVE corned beef dinner!  We try to eat it just a few times a year because it's pretty rich in fat--but OH SO YUMMY!  During the non St Patrick's Day time of year corned beef is pretty expensive so thank goodness for the times it goes on sale.  My son was asking about it today and I said the sale ads will be out Thursday and he said "Man I wish they would get cracking on that!"  Hmmmmm cracking cracking cracking that give me an idea! How about a Crackle mani using all greens!!!!!
I love it!  Basically I just pulled out a few greens I had and did some stripes on my nails and then covered them in this Irish Moss green crackle I got from a friend on mine.  I think greens are starting to be as much as a problem with greens as blues lol!
Here's a nice close up
This is an excellent mani for someone to try who wants to get into the St Patrick's Day mood who's not so good at nail art!

I've said it before and I'll say it again I LOVE CRACKLE!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Whew! Good thing I can swim!

Hi Readers!  Today's mani is featuring another one of my recent loves . . . foils!  My friend Sarah, from Chalkboard Nails is forever making fun of me whenever I say I love something.  I said I love Crackle, then I said I loved Magnetic's and then I said I loved Foils lol!  She had to remind me of this just the other day.  I mentioned wanting to marry magnetic polish and she said "oh oh someone better break it to crackle!"  I decided then I'll just be in a menage with crackle and magnetics.  I ran into trouble when I mentioned loving foils so basically I'm now cheating on my menage with foils lol!
ANYWAY today's foil isn't really like a foil lol!  No holographic look to this one, no shine or shimmer, just a really nice design.  It's called Niagara Cascade.  It's an awesome jade and mint looking marble type foil.  Apparently it's supposed to resemble the falls though lol!  And blessings of all blessings regarding this mani.  I FINALLY GOT THE SHAMROCK IMAGE ON MY BM03 PLATE TO WORK!
I got a lot of compliments on the super simple mani.  That's what's so awesome about foils--they make it look like you worked hard when in fact you didn't!
Here's a nice close up.  I'm SO happy I finally got the shamrock image to work!
Speaking of the shamrock here's a bit of information regarding the shamrock in Irish lore.  It's said St Patrick plucked a shamrock to teach the Druids the meaning of The Trinity--Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  The shamrock is said to have mystical powers and it's petals will stand upright to warn of an impending storm.  It is Ireland's most famous symbol and is commonly associated with good luck.  Historian's have found in Celtic history it was often used as a charm to ward off evil.

When I was a young girl I would spend hours in a patch of clover trying to find a four leaved one lol!  How about you reader's??? Have you ever found a four leaf clover??

Somewhere over the rainbow . . .

There's a leprechaun!!!!! Hi Readers!  Dorothy and Oz don't have the exclusive on rainbows.  The leprechaun lore is there's a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow.  Did you ever try to chase one when you were a kid and try to find that pot of gold?  My sister, Lisa, and I sure did!  We never did find one, darn it!  This is another pretty easy but cute mani for St Patrick's Day.  I used OPI Jade Is The New Black again (my All time favorite green creme I think) and the holy grail of flakies imo--Sinful Colors Green Ocean.  The shining glory is the cute little pot o' gold at the end of the rainbow!
I love how Sinful Colors Green Oceans look over a dark color.  I especially love seeing the flashes of green to teal to blue.
Flakies are like duochromes and they seem to be best viewed in shade--go figure!  Here's a close up--isn't my pot o' gold cute????
I haven't seen a rainbow in quite some time.  Maybe next time I'll see if I can chase after that leprechaun!  A pot of gold would buy me ALOT of nail polish!

Give peace a chance!

Hi Readers!  Being an American I have a lot of pride in our flag and I'm sure it's no different for people from all over.  I think we're pretty lucky having red, white and blue BUT there are some other colors that seem to work really well together--the Irish Flag being one of them.  The Irish Flag colors are Green, White, and Orange.  Green represents the Catholic people, orange represents the Protestant people and white represents peace.  The flag was actually created by a French woman who understood and sympathized with the plight of the Irish people (hmmmm ANOTHER woman flag maker!)  She presented it to Thomas Francis Meagher as a gift in 1848 but it was not until 1916 it was raised at the post office in Dublin.  My mani today features the Irish flag!
I felt like it would be a bit much to have every nail painted like the flag so just a nice accent nail along with some lucky four leaf clovers over green on the others.
This is just a nice, simple look to celebrate St Patrick's Day I think.

This is a pretty straight forward mani.  For the flag I did 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow, the green is OPI Jade Is The New Black and the orange is OPI Atomic Orange.  I tried my best to do the scotch tape mani for the straight lines but honestly I do not do a good job with those tape mani's!  I ended up just going over the straight edges.  I used Jade Is The New Black for the non flag nails them stamped the clover image from a Shany plate in gold. TA DA it's just that easy!
