The Digit-al Dozen Does Metal--Mechagodzilla!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Hump Day!  OMG I am not even ashamed to say the other night I made the most god awful ugly mani in the universe!  No lie.  It was horrendous!  I had all these great intentions on a fabulous metal mani and then bam shit happened!  I thought I might try to wear it for a day but NOPE that baby was removed the next day and guess what?!  I went to work with naked nails!  NAKED NAILS PEOPLE!  Oh the horror!

I tried to do something cool last night too but again it just fell short.   I did a nail full of silver studs and hoped to stamp over it.  Wow first time stamping over studs who has done it before??!!! No one!  I'll be famous!  Except that it looked like crap so so much for the famous part.  I full intended on taking off the mani tonight and doing something else but I really felt like the studded nail was cool.  Then I got this idea.  Why not some spikes over my studded nail?!

First off here is the plain mani, just the nail covered in the silver studs
Pretty cool nail right?!  I really wanted to do something cool with it and for some reason Mechagodzilla popped into my head LOL!  So I give you some spikes over studs!
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!  Now this is more like it!
Not too hard to manage either!
I got to use one of my frankens too!  My black base is my franken Midnight Sins and I stamped over him with BM224 and Color Club Harp On It
I had to use A LOT of Seche Vite on this baby, it almost looks like glass over the studs!
I like the subtle look of the reptile "scales" too!
So glad this Metal challenge allowed me to play with my inner spike vixen!
I hope Mechagodzilla is proud LOL!
Let's pop over to see what everyone else has on their nails today!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Metal--paging Rumplestiltskin!

Hi Everyone!  Whew!  Glad to have those spikes off!  I cannot begin to tell you how hard it was to type!  Those 2 middle fingers kept getting tangled up in each other.  I am happy to report though it seems I've worn spikes enough now to figure out the maneuvering of pulling pants up and pushing down to go to the bathroom! LOL!

Today's mani is a lot less spikey but still quite dramatic I think!  I decided to try a sugar spun mani using China Glaze Passion, Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and Essie Penny Talk.  The results are pretty stunning
I haven't done very many sugar spun mani's and whenever I do them I always love how they turned out.  So then I wonder why don't I do more of these???!
I think it's because the key is patience with these and I'm not known for my patience
I will try to do at least one more with some neon colors for the summer!
What do you think?  Are you a fan of this look?

Let's head over to the rest of the gang and check out their day 2!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Metal--get your spike on!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday and welcome to Metal week for the Digit-al Dozen.  OMG At first when I heard metal I had all these cool ideas and then when it came time to sitting down and working them out they just did not happen!  I hate it when that happens too!  I mean metal how hard can it be?  Trust me when I say it can be very hard!  I pulled this sucker out at the list minute and whipped it together and if I do say so myself, it rocks!

Feast your eyes on SPIKE A LICIOUS!
I got a bunch of spikes and studs a while back on ebay so I decided to put as many to good use as I could!
I sort of felt like french tip spikes hadn't been done yet so that's the look I went with
This is a definitely a mani you can't wear pantyhose with!
This here is definitely metal!!!
I love thumbie the best!  He reminds me of a dinosaur!
So this baby is totally 100% impractical!  I love it though!  I had to do this on the weekend because there is no way I was getting through a day a work with these suckers on! LOL!

Let's head over and see if anyone else is as crazy as I am today with their nail art!

Happy Flowers AND extend a mani!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Saturday!  What a super fabulous weekend it looks to be.  I get to spend today doing nuthin'!  Woot!  Actually I'm going to be reading.  I've got a couple of books by Cherise Sinclair's Doms of Dark Haven's series to read and couple books from Alexa Grace's profile series to read.  Plus this is the month of June so the kringle of the month is rhubarb from my bakery.  Having some delish iced coffee, eating rhubarb kringle and reading what's not to love?!

Last week I was over at Emily's hanging and I did a cute little mani over there.  A nice neon gradient with some stamping.  I liked it but the pinky got smeared so the next day I decided to take off a few of the stamped nails and add a Kiko Cupcake to it!  Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner!

Here's the mani I wore home from Emily's
I'm not really sure what happened but the pinky got so smeared AND I used Seche which usually never smears
I'd like to say the smear didn't bother me but it really did!  That's why I just had to take it off LOL.  I kept a couple of the stamped images and then put on Kiko Cupcake 650
So much cuteness!
I wish I could tell you the names of the polishes but I can't!  They are from China Glaze neon collection from last year though!
I definitely think skittling and extending a mani is the way to go these days!  That way you get almost everything you own onto your fingertips!

Tomorrow we are celebrating my grandnephew's birthday.  It should be a bunch of fun.  Let's hope I can come up with something cute to wear on my nails!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

A Rose by any other name would be Jen!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Hump Day!  I hope everyone is having a great week so far.  We're definitely into the Spring/Summer mode here in Wisconsin and I'm enjoying the warm but not hot weather so far.  We'll be celebrating my grand-nephew's birthday this weekend so hopefully this gorgeous weather continues.  No worries if it doesn't--Sean will just make us play the Wii with him all afternoon if the weather is crummy LOL!  That kid does not play around when it comes to the Wii!

My fab friend Jen from My Nail Polish Obsession is celebrating her blog anniversary in a big way!  For the special occasion Red Dog Designs created a gorgeous limited edition polish and  I was lucky enough to purchase 1 of 30 polishes made for the event and let me tell you it's a beauty!
La Vie en rose is a gorgeous red holographic polish with hot fuchsia glitters in it!  Super love how beautiful this is!
I was almost right in the middle with my bottle!  Lucky 17 woot!
If you missed out on getting one of these gorgeous limited edition bottles IT'S NOT TOO LATE!!! Jen is having a giveaway for a bottle of this beauty right HERE  The good news is Jen is running this give away until June 27th so there's still time for you to enter and still a chance for you to win!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday---Beaching Nails!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Monday!!  I got to spend some time with my friend Emily yesterday and we had a blast!  We really wanted to try some new techniques to the stamping world and were able to do a couple quite successfully!  The other day my friend Beaching Nails showed a sneak peek mani she had done with the new icing polishes from 10.1 polish.  I was blown away!  I mean omg it was gorgeous.  I decided to try to recreate it.

First of all I made up some sheer tints using some old China Glaze neons I had
Next up I painted my nails with 2 coats of OPI My Vampire Is Buff.  Then I applied the sheers randoming "splodging" them all over my nails.  I stamped in black using the BuNa B plate from Bunny Nails and look at it!
Oooooooh  Ahhhhhhhhh!  This is so pretty!

Ha check out Emily's porch!  I tried to get some sunny shots but it was behind a cloud LOL!

As you can see I did matte it because I felt like it really added to the look
It turned out just beautiful.  But not as beautiful as Beach's!  Trust me!!!  Here's a pic of her's
Beached used the new Icing collex from 10.1 Polish and look how lovely it turned out!  I'm definitely going to snag that collection and guess what it's available now right HERE

Here's a side by side shot of mine and Beach's
What a pretty look and honestly not hard to achieve at all!

You may have seen Beaching Nails as she's all over the place but if you haven't seen her on Facebook check out her blog HEREhttp://beachingnails.blogspot.com/

Have you tried any of the sheer polishes out there?  Have you made any of your own?  What about this technique have you tried it yet?

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Exxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxtend A Mani!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Sunday!  Another glorious day here in sunny and pleasantly warm Wisconsin!  I survived my 4k walk, my feet don't even hurt AND I get to spend some time with my friend Emily today making up some sheer polishes and leadlighting our guts out!  But before I do that I want to show you how I extended my neon gradient mani from yesterday.  I simply stamped over it!

My friend Sheila from the Pointless Cafe blog is who taught me all about extending a mani.  I'm really glad I decided to do that with this mani because I think it only added to it and now it's so gorgeous!

I love how you can still see all the colors of the gradient with this stamping!
It's still so colorful!
It drives my niece, Alex, crazy when I stamp over my neon gradients LOL!  I just think it makes them look better
How about you--do you like stamping over a gradient or just leaving it plain?
Here's a collage of the mani sans stamping
And then here's a collage with the stamping which do you like better?
It's a tough decision!

I'm excited to hang out with Emily today and even more excited to share the results of my leadlighting attempts!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
