Digit-al Dozen Does Red, Gold and Green

Hi Everyone!  I have a mani that turned out surprisingly well for as little thought went into it!  As you know I am working from well before sun up to long after sundown these days.  I have my eye on the Naked 2 and 3 palette as a treat for all my hard work so there is light at the end of the tunnel.  I got home last night pretty exhausted but still need a manicure for the challenge.  I decided to do some quick and easy stripes with my favorite red and green--favorite red is Knees Up by Butter London and favorite green is Emerald Park by Nails Inc.  I stamped over it with the best gold in the universe China Glaze Passion with my new Bunny Nails HD-F Christmas plate.

I think it turned out looking like wrapping paper!!! And I didn't even really try!
The only good light I had was snapping this pic under the kitchen light LOL!  It's hard to get good pics in the dark time!
Maybe I should have my eye on a light box before any Naked Palettes--lol!

So far I'm keeping up okay with the challenge I sure hope I don't fall behind!  Everyone else is doing an amazing job!

The Digital Dozen Does Red, Gold & Green

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Monday!  We had our first snow storm of the season yesterday!  I was caught completely unaware as I went into work super early and then drove down to Pleasant Prairie to have lunch with my fab friends Stephanie and Dani.  But nothing can keep us fab nail friends apart not even some inclement weather!  Luckily no one was drinking like a complete moron in the snowfall.

Today kicks off the Digital Dozen's Red, Gold and Green week.  I don't know about you but whenever I think of those colors together it just screams Christmas to me.  I decided to switch things up a bit and use the colors but did a mani far from Christmas!  In fact this mani is FIERCE!

As you can see I kept with the color theme of Red, Gold & Green but instead of Christmas I went with leopard print!
I used some of the Julie G Gumdrops for this mani, the new ones from the Christmas Collection.  The gold is Gift of Gold, the red is Ho Ho Ho, and the green is Mistletoe.  I stamped with my favorite leopard print image ever, BM221
I think it's the perfect leopard print image!
I really love this twist on the red, gold and green colors--Christmas Colors not your mama's Christmas mani LOL!

Man oh man this month might kill me.  I am working alot of long hours and my old body is starting to give out on me but I think no matter what my nails are going to look good LOL!

I wonder if anyone else strayed from the norm with this color scheme--be sure to check them out and see if I was the only one!

The Rising Sun

Hi Everyone!  And a happy Thursday to you all!  This week is just flying by! Before we know it Christmas will be here!  Yay for online shopping is all I can say!  I found another picture in my google search of Japanese art that I just had to try and I am quite pleased with how this one turned out!
Pretty simple and yet dramatic I think
Here it is with the picture I found
I think I did a much better job with this one than my mushroom hat.

Let's see what everyone else has going on!

Is this a mushroom or a hat?

Hi Everyone!! Happy Hump Day!  I hope everyone is having a great middle of the week.  So far so good for me although I am looking forward to some "me" this this weekend.

Today I've got a mani that had a lot of potential but then holy cow what the heck happened to it??  Keeping with the Japanese theme I found this picture I wanted to recreate
Lovely isn't it??? Then why did my mani turn out like this?
Can you say mushroom head?????
The gradient is pretty lovely
but my freehand hat just fell short

Here they are all together
I wonder if anyone else had freehand issues with their Japanese style today?

Don't koi with me

Hi Everyone!  Hope you're having a great day so far.  My new camera came yesterday!  I got home late and it was sitting waiting for me.  I'll have to wait until this weekend to check it out and try it out but pretty exciting news!

I've got a Japanese koi mani to show you today that turned out pretty good.  I had some help with Messy Mansion MM20 plate.
I started with a base of Zoya Thandie and then did a saran wrap mani by putting OPI Take The Stage over it, then I dabbed white on with saran wrap to get the koi look.
I turned my plate image sideways when I stamped to give my fish their scales
It's a bit more sparkly in real life but maybe the new camera will fix these issues next time they happen LOL!
I'm not sure how great this looks with my skin tone but it definitely looks fishy LOL!

Check out what everyone else did for today

Japanese tree top

Hi Everyone!  This week a few of us got together to focus on a Japanese theme.  When I first saw the theme I was like--Japanese?!  I don't know how to do anything Japanese.  But after spending a few minutes online I realized OMG I have a ton of stuff that I can use and do for a Japanese theme!  I hauled out my MoYou Suki01 plate and did what I think of as a Japanese tree top scene
I hauled out my tried and true pink gradient colors Zoya Shelby and Reagan and did a little gradient first
And then did some simple black and white stamping.  Isn't the owl on the Suki 01 plate just adorable?!!

Squee!!!
And we're off! Whew!  Day one done and it's pretty darn cute!

Here's what everyone else did!!

I don't even know where I am anymore!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Sunday!! I HAVE THE DAY OFF! FINALLY!  Okay well I did have off on Thursday but I spent that day with the family LOL!  I worked Friday and Saturday and tomorrow I start back at the bakery so I'll be doing my 70 hours a week work week!  I am trying my hardest to make sure I get something posted daily but it might be hit and miss!

I have decided my best friends while I'll be working so much are going to be some suedes, mattes and textured polishes!  Why?! Well they are super gorgeous on their own and I don't always feel the need to stamp on them and they dry fast!  Of course over the next two weeks I have two challenge groups as well!  Tomorrow kicks off my Japanese theme challenge.  At first I wasn't going to do it but then I got to feeling guilty about it so I'm working today to do some knock out Japanese themed mani's!

BUT up first I have this really cool silvery and pink mani!  It sort of tells the story about how I feel right now! Which way is up?  Is it daytime or night time???  Does anyone know where I am or where I'm supposed to be???
I paired the lovely OPI This Gown Needs A Crown with Pure Ice Draped!
This Gown Needs A Crown is a satin finish polish and it is SO sparkly and gorgeous!
I did some stamping with SA 05 and like how this turned out!

I hope OPI makes more of these satin finishes!  They are totally up my alley!
And honestly you can not go wrong with pink, silver and black--EVER!

So some exciting news--I FINALLY BOUGHT A CAMERA!  OMG I finally pulled the plunge on Black Friday and ordered a Panasonic Lumix.  I've needed a new one since this summer.  I'm still very nervous.  I just want to be able to provide the best pics possible.  Next up is working on a dedicated light box area although the pics I take a work are pretty darn good LOL!  I just haven't decided if I should wait until Christmas to open it or start checking it out the 2nd I get it!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  I'll try to keep everyone posted on my comings and goings as much as possible during this month.  Let's ALL cross our fingers I don't put back any of the 41 pounds I've lost!
