A rose by any other name

Hi Readers!  Has anyone else wondered really what that whole phrase means?  A rose by any other name would smell as sweet?  Isn't a rose is a rose is a rose?  I'm not sure I didn't really love Shakespeare when I took it in high school.  I'd rather stick to my current day romances thank you very much LOL! Today's theme in the 31 Day Challenge is flowers.  I recreated a mani I saw on the last Bundle Monster contest.  I voted for this mani every single day I loved it so much and I could not believe it didn't win!  The creator of it is Emily's Nail Files and alas it looks as if she isn't blogging anymore :(  Sad face for sure.  It makes me sad to see bloggers fall out of love with stamping and nail art.  Let's hope it never happens to me!

Let's take a look at my roses!

The thing I love about this mani is it matches the blouse I'm wearing to work tomorrow! WOOT I love it when that happens!

I basically followed Emily's directions painting my nails with Zoya Dove and then stamping the lace image from BM20 using Nails Inc Maddox Street which is a gorgeous gun metal grey metallic.  Then I did some maroon blobs with Nails Inc Wilton Row (which I ADORE) and stamp the rose image from BM14 over it with WetnWild Tickled Pink.

Hmm I wonder if I should have saved this mani for Delicate Print day????

I do really love the Nails Inc's I have--they are wonderful cremes that work fantastic for stamping!

What's up for tomorrow????
Delicate print LOLOLOLOL  I sure hope I can pull something out of my rump for that one!

Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Laurie's got her groove back!

Hi Readers!  FINALLY I have come up with a mani that I love, love, LOVE for this 31 Day Challenge!  The theme for today is animal print and boy did I ever bust it out!  I really wanted to do something wild and I think I nailed it!
This is the glorious China Glaze Bohemians both as a gradient with black stamped over it and as a gradient stamped over black!
That one's a bit bright but I had to get thumby in there!
Glurg this is just gorgeous!!!
Man I love how these stamp especially over black!!!

Check out how cool thumby is!
Can you see all that shimmer is these babies when you gradient with them???!!!

This mani kills me DED!

I feel like I should queue some Etta James here instead of my man coming along though it's my mani! LOL!

I used all three Bundle Monsters for this mani lol! Pinkie is BM16, ring is BM221, swear is BM223, index is BM224 and thumby is BM313.  For the ring and thumb I did a gradient over black using China Glaze Bohemian Swanky Silk, No Plain Jane and Deviantly Daring.  For the other nails I did gradient stamping over black dotting my plate with all the Bohemians--Rare & Radiant, No Plain Jane, Deviantly Daring, Unpredictable, Swanky Silk and Want My Bawdy.  I cannot tell you enough how much I love the Bohemian Collection from China Glaze!

Since I'm feeling so good about today let's check out what's up for tomorrow
Hmmm flowers I have a few ideas running around in my head let's see if I can nail another one!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

You can have just one!

Hi Readers!  Day 12 in the 31 Day Challenge challenged me! Today's theme is stripes. I wanted to do something spectacular but was really struggling.  Then I sort of ran of time and tried to do a magnetic gradient and it was a huge fail.  Then I just remembered how pretty this purple Nabi magnetic polish is so I decided just to keep it simple!

Stripes! Instantly with nothing more than a magnet! Woot!

But then I decided to add an accent nail

And YES! You CAN have just one stamped nail lol!

This is just really pretty and the magnetic polishes are instant nail art!  I had forgotten all about these until I realized I just didn't have the time to do a striping tape mani lol!

Let's see what's up tomorrow
Ooooh Animal Print!  I can't wait for that one!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Dot, Dot, Goose!

Hi Readers! UG I do not like my mani for today's 31 Day Challenge!  I don't know what's going on but lately I have just been falling flat when it comes to great ideas!  I felt this one had tons of potential, but really it's just like a big fat goose egg of a mani!
I did some more tone on tone stamping using Zoya Wednesday and Zuza and then I dotted with my most fave China Glaze For Audrey but this is just meh

My cuticles are dry lately my lips are dry lately and I wonder if it's the stress I've been going through lately.  I need to pull myself out of this funk Readers!

Hopefully tomorrow will bring something fantastic!

hmmmmm stripes not looking very promising!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

One stone two birds you know the drill!

Hi Readers!  I am killing two challenges with one post today WOOT!!!! I've got a mani for MSMD Monday AND for the day 10 of the 31 Day Challenge!  When she first posted this little getting to know the terminology I loved seeing the blue gradient ombre from The Swatchaholic.  I really wanted to try it but was missing one of the blues.  Luckily for me my fab friend Marissa came to the rescue and sent me a bottle if Ski Teal We Drop which I really needed to nail it.  Today is day 10 in the 31 Day Challenge and the theme is gradient nails so BAM a double whammy is born!  Gradient blue ombre nails!

Thank goodness I have a lot of blues to pick from to throw together this mani!

Here's a side by side comparison pic I did to see how close I was to The Swatchaholic's Gradient Ombre

What do you think?  I think I did pretty good!  Check out her page tutorial on the different meanings behind gradient, ombre and skittle mani's here

Let's see what's in store for tomorrow's 31 Day Challenge

Today is MSMD though so let's see what my cohorts came up with in

I know he's always with me

Hi Readers!  My father passed away one month ago today.  The day after he died when I really felt as if I just wouldn't be able to make it without him I saw the most beautiful rainbow.  It was huge and vibrant and I just knew it was him telling me everything would be okay and even though he wasn't here with my physically any more, I felt he sent me that rainbow to say he would always be with me.  I miss my dad SO much but I know he's with my sister and I know I will be with them again.  It's just hard trying to figure out how to live in the huge space they leave behind when they go.  Having my blog and having some fantastic friends really helps though.
Today's theme in the 31 Day Challenge is Rainbow.  How fitting it falls on this day.  So today I did a mani in honor and remembrance of my dad and the sign he's given me.

I started with a rainbow stripe and put a coat of gLORIous over it
Then I stamped over it using some designs from the third Bundle Monster set
I really love how this turned out and it truly reminds me of the day I saw that rainbow in all it's glory shining right alongside the sun
It's really hard to lose someone you love so much--someone who's been the biggest and best part of your life, and while we do have to go on without them, we will never, EVER, forget them.

Here's a before and after picture

Yesterday would have been my parents 50th wedding anniversary.  I spent the day with my mom and sister for lunch as we went to my folks favorite restaurant for a nice lunch.  We had the most delicious caramel apple pie for dessert and I jokingly told Lynelle I hoped I dreamed about that pie LOL!  Alas i did not but it was dream worthy.  Last night the family got together to play dominoes--a game called chicken foot, which is a game dad taught us.  It was a lot of fun, as it always is, to be with my family.  I think my mom got through the day okay.  My heart still breaks that they just couldn't make that 50 year mark.  Really though they were together for 50 years so that's all that should matter!

Today I'm spending the day with my family yet again.  Today is the NAMI Bike n Hike and I'm going to be painting nails!  Yep no walking this year for me because I swear last year Lynelle tried to kill me.  I'm bringing several bottles of purple nail polish--holographic, glitter, creme, shimmers, magnetic, duochrome--you name it I'm bringing it!  Purple is NAMI's color and I hope a lot of people girls and boys alike will want to wear purple to represent NAMI and all it does for people with mental illness.

Thanks for stopping by today Readers!  I hope you all have a fantastic day, and I hope many rainbows come your way.

Metalicious!

Hi Readers!  The theme for day 8 in the 31 Day Challenge is metallic nails.  I had to sort of cheat a bit with this one so I can kill two birds with one stone LOL!  I'm committed to this 31 day challenge but that sort of leaves poor Sunday Challenge's in AIS out in the cold for a month.  Today I decided to do a metallic gradient and I'm also going to use it for the Sunday Challenge!  Yes it's so sneaky I know but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.  First up is my metallic gradient.  I hauled out some Kleancolor metallics for this--green and aqua
The two colors look great together don't they?
I really love the Kleancolor metallics to stamp with but look how great they are for just a basecoat!

And here's my cheating pic!  The theme for Sunday is toxic so I simply added OPI Black Spotted over the top for a truly toxic looking spill!

Tomorrow's theme in the 31 Day Challenge is near and dear to my heart.  Let's see what it is shall we?

Rainbow nails!  Tomorrow is one month since my father passed away and I felt he came to me as a rainbow the day after he died--so from now on they will forever remind me of him.  Check back tomorrow to see what I come up with for the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!
