Sunday Stamping Challenge--Inspired by Music

Hi Readers!  The Sunday Stamping Challenge in Adventures In Stamping on Facebook is Inspired by Music.  It was decided you could do a song, several songs, music etc.  Well anyone who knows me knows I love all kinds of music but my heart is held by only one
The King
Yes it's true Readers I am an Elvis fan and have been for 42 years.  I fell in love with him at the tender age of 7 and since then there's been no looking back!  Here's the mani I cam up with for the challenge.  There are 4 Elvis songs in here do you know them all?
Here's a nice collage I put together of the mani
In case you don't know thumb is Jailhouse Rock, index is Blue Hawaii, swear is Can't Help Falling In Love, and pinkie is Viva Las Vegas.

I have a BUNCH of Elvis stuff too readers--tins, lunchbox, plates, figurines, snow globes, clocks, cell phone cover, music box, ornaments and coffee mugs lol!  Here I am with what I could hold and you can still see the mani lol!
Left to right my little travel clock, top right one of my HUGE Elvis coffee mugs, bottom right one of my snow globes.

When I was a young girl growing up not many of my friends like Elvis.  My own parents weren't huge fans.  I first saw him in the movie Girl Happy singing to Shelley Fabares as she lounged in a pool chair lol.  That was pretty much it for me I loved him at the moment and from then on.  I only knew one other person besides me in grade school who liked him and that was Tad Muth.  In the 6th grade he wore his hair long and his mom made him a shirt with the  high collar it was SO cool!  Through the years I would run into former classmates and they would always ask me "Do you still like Elvis"  um hello you don't stop liking Elvis people!  LOL!

Some facts about me and Elvis
My favorite Elvis Movie is Live A Little Love A Little
Elvis played a photographer named Greg Nolan in it.  His love interest was played by Michele Carey and she had several names and "personalities" throughout the whole move!  She also had a huge great dane dog!
Here's a pic of the three of them together lol!
My favorite Elvis song is Edge Of Reality AND it's from the movie Live A Little Love A Little lol!

I was supposed to see Elvis in concert in 1977 in Milwaukee one of his last concerts.  A family friend, Tom, wanted to take me--I was fourteen at the time and my mom said, "Tom take your girlfriend, Laurie has PLENTY OF TIME TO SEE HIM" as you can tell still a sore subject with me--thanks alot mom!

My father went to William Horlick High School with Barbara McNair who starred with Elvis in the movie A Change Of Habit!

I went to school in the 5th and 6th grade with a girl who's father was in the Army with Elvis!  She told me her dad she he was really nice and very genuine. I love a man in uniform don't you readers?
For my 40th birthday my sisters and friends chipped in to get me an Elvis tattoo!  I didn't want the tattoo artist to touch my foot because I hate people touching my feet and he said he needed to hold it for when I flinched.  I promised him I wouldn't.  I didn't--not once.  My sisters were shocked lol!  Here's a shot of my tattoo on my ankle--sorry it's not the greatest but A it's still cold here so no sun for me and B it's hard to lean over and take a shot of your own ankle lol!
To me he was just the package deal, he could sing, he could dance, he could act and he was a consummate performer
AND if that wasn't enough did you know he was a cowboy????!!!!
I'm pretty sure you can tell how much I love Elvis--always have--always will.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Sushi Anyone?

Hi Readers! Is anyone else addicted to Pinterest?  I love that thing!  I'm constantly pinning all the way cool mani's I see and the scrumptious looking dinners and desserts I see. And of course I have the token hot guys board as well lol!  Anyway awhile ago I saw they cutest little fish mani here and I got a great idea to change it up a bit!  I know I said I don't "do" cute but check this out readers!
Anyone who knows me knows my favorite image is the "skelly" fish on BM04!! OMG I love that image!  When I saw the Nail Trail's cute fish mani I just HAD to  embellish it a bit lol!  Now here's a true story readers I showed this pic to a few of my nail friends and they all went "Chococat"!!!  I honestly had no idea who Chococat was!  Apparently he's friends with Hello Kitty lol!  In any case he looks WAY too sweet an innocent doesn't he??? Hmmmm I wonder where those skelly fish came from then?  This was a really fun mani for me to do!
My own "chococat" didn't seem too interested in this mani though
Baxter was too busy snoozing lol!

I think I did a pretty good job on this "cute" mani.  I might have the hang of this sort of thing after all!

OOOOOH and this just in Readers--I finally got on board with a Facebook page!  I'm happy to chat with anyone there and you can find pics of my mani's, my jewelry and hopefully soon my frankens.  I'll probably have some pics of the chinchillas too lol!  Here's where you can find me or just search for Dressed Up Digits!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

PS Readers!  I had this all scheduled to post and I died laughing today when I saw Kristin's post on The Manicured Monkey!  Kristin used the same mani I found on Pinterest for her Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday!  Please check out Kristin's post here!  And guess what readers???!  A couple of the ladies in the stamping group liked my Monkey See Monkey Do weeks so much they decided to do Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday and I'll be joining them so look for them to start this coming Monday!

If your friends jumped off a bridge would you?

Hi Readers!  Did your mom ever say that to you?  "If your friends jumped off a bridge would you?"  mine did probably a zillion times and it usually had to do with fashion of some sort!  Mom I NEED these aviator tinted sunglasses even though I don't have contacts and can't see sh!t when I wear them.  Mom I NEED these suede gauchos even though they seem to stick together when I try to walk. Mom I NEED these ridiculously high heeled wedge clogs that I fell off of in front of the entire football team while walking down the hall in 10th grade.  Each time I said I needed it she would ask me why and I would say all my friends have them hence the standard "If your friends jumped off a bridge would you?"  Well it seems every blogger AND their mother is doing the kaviar aka fish egg mani so I needed to do one too!  I told my friend Rebecca I was going to call it the BALLZ mani--she wanted me to call it the Jesus BALLZ mani.  True story readers when I was a young girl growing up (and there was a 70 year age difference between us) my Grandpa Shaw was fond of saying "jesus balls on crutches" when something irritated him.  Why--I have no idea--but he did say it and through the years the family has shortened it to just Jesus Balls or as I like say as to not offend anyone JBOC.  Feel free to use the saying if you want too lol!  Awhile ago I managed to dupe both OPI DS Glamour and OPI DS Exclusive--yes I am that good (big head much, Laurie???!) While I've duped them both I haven't worn them yet!  So I decided to pull out one of them for my JB mani.
This is my franken dupe of Exclusive I named Safe, Sane & Consensual
I'm proud of this one--it's a dead on dupe
I decided to jump on the BALLZ bandwagon so I grabbed a few.  What a nightmare it was though!  I couldn't get my wheel open because all the balls had rolled around in it and the jammed the wheel.  Most of them are in my keyboard for crying out loud!  I did manage to snag a few though!
Here's a lovely collage I put together using Picasa!
I used nail foil glue to adhere my beads.  I didn't sprinkle them on like I've heard everyone else do.  I pressed my right index onto some beads I sprinkled on a plate and then pressed them onto my left ring finger.  They seemed to hold up okay I did lose some of them on the edges and the tips but that's the hardest place to get nail foil adhesive to work.  I loved feeling this!  I ran my thumb along it all day and I rubbed the finger across my lips lol!  I am a fan of this look and may suggest it to the girls who's mani's I'm doing from prom.

What do you think readers?  Are you on the JB mani bandwagon?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

QUEEN OF THE WORLD!

Hi Readers!  Today I'm showing you a polish that no one else but me owns IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!  My super fab and fun friend Michelle from Sonoma Nail Art has been working on making up some polishes all based on Sonoma County. Her polishes are incredible imo.  I will admit I'm not huge into the indie bandwagon there are only a few I like--my faves are definitely Amy's Voodoo Doll and Chelsea's Jawbreaker but then this gem came into my life and if I could marry it I would.  Technically I think I could marry it because I've heard of weird a$$ stuff like this happening before lol! Awhile ago Michelle was able to almost complete her Revlon Fizz collection but she was missing Grape Fizz.  I had one I was definitely willing to part with especially for her.  Now don't tell her this readers but I was just going to send it to her but she came back with how about swapping for one of my polishes?!  HOLY SHIZZ I about hit the floor because I've been lucky enough she was sharing pics of her creations with me.  So I casually said sure but let me make you a ring too.  Michelle (dumb as a box of rocks on this one readers) swapped me her Mustard Fields for a Toxic Seaweed ring and Grape Fizz.
When I got the bottle in the mail from her she made me a cute a$$ certificate to go along with it! OMG check it out readers!
BTW I see nothing wrong with being a "cheesehead" Go Pack, Go!
She sent me this ADORABLE temp tattoo that says Taste My Muffin and told me to place it "accordingly" LOLOLOLOLOL
I will not lie readers this polish is so gorgeous!  It has large yellow daisy glitter in it along with greenish gold bar glitters, light and dark green square g glitters and a mix of various greens and gold small hexes.  It really IS a mustard field!

What I really love about Michelle's polishes is the fact she's looked around at her surroundings and her life and created a line of polishes to match them.  I simply love that idea!  She, like many, in the indie polish business right now are having issues getting base for their creations.  Seems the indie polish creating bug has bitten many and some were lucky enough to get base while others were not.  I do know as soon as she is able she will be selling her gorgeous creations through etsy.
But enough of all of that! I'm sure you want to see the beauty of this polish!  I started off by making a ring with it!
That was last night which is why you don't see a matching mani lol!  I used China Glaze Trendsetter as the underwear for it and fell in love.  FELL.IN.LOVE!  Today I decided to do a matching mani for my ring and I am seriously over the moon with it!
And another bottle shot!
And a collage of the beauty of Mustard Fields
Right now I'm the only one in the world--the whole universe even to have this polish therefore I am lording it over everyone!!!  I won't be for long though readers.  Tonight at 8pm central time Michelle is having a small and by small I mean small sale.  She has 50 polishes done and is selling them for $10 a bottle plus shipping via her etsy store Sonoma Nail Art.  I'm not sure what polishes of hers she's going to have up for sale Mustard Fields may not be one of them.  Please make sure you visit Michelle's blog today to see what polishes she is selling.  I know it's going to be a mad dash to try to get one of 50 but I also know as soon as she has base she's going to be up and running to meet the supply and demand.  Her blog is Sonoma Nail Art.

WOW! I cannot believe how wordy I was today readers!  I guess I am just so in love with this polish--and honestly Michelle, who is also an AHmazing artist, I couldn't stop talking.

What do you think of this one readers?  Are you "into" indie polishes?  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!  If you're trying to get one of Michelle's polishes tonight Good Luck!

Rated NC-17

Hi Readers!!  Today some of you might have to cover your eyes!  Awhile ago my Wonder Twin and I did a mani using the zipper image from the 2nd Bundle Monster set.  I really loved how Crystal did hers and have been wanting to do one like it.  I had purchased A England's Bridal Veil from Ninja Polish a few months ago but hadn't used it yet so an idea was born!  This is it readers this post is rated NC-17 so I hope you're old enough to keep looking!
Ha!!! Were you worried for a minute???  Remember how I had to censor the zebra awhile back???? LOL!  I just love this--it's both edgy and cute--how can that even happen???
Look at the lovely scattered holo of Bridal Veil--it's one of my favorite blacks!
For this mani I did ONE COAT of A England's Bridal Veil (all the of polishes I have from The Legends are one coaters--Bridal Veil, Dragon, St George, and Ascalon) and then stamped using the Silver Chrome pen from Sally Hansen using image BM202.  For the lips I used both China Glaze Emotion and Kleancolor Metallic Red using BM02.

While I was doing this mani someone in the room was not old enough to view such racy content so he had to cover his eyes!
Poor Baxter!

I hope no one had shock with this one readers lol!  Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Beauties and the Beast

Hi Readers! I'm not really sure what the deal is today but I can't pick my normal font! What the french blogger?! Well I'm not going to let that stop me from posting my mani so nah-nah-nah Blogger! The super cute Lindsey over at Never Land Nail is having a nail art contest with a twist! She's got the super cute theme idea of magical and mystical images. Check out her blog and the contest rules here. WELL some of those things are right up my alley. I would wear mermaid tails every single day of my life I think. I'm also a HUGE fan of all things dragon so this was just a super great idea for me. This is the fun mani I came up with!
I used a few techniques to come up with this mani. I did some sponging with a variety of blues and greens on the thumb and index. I did multiple colors on the plates when I stamped the background for the faeries and for the faeries themselves I double stamped over the image so as to make her look as if she was hovering. Here's a nice close up!
My intent was to show a mani with mermaids--the thumb and ring, a dragon, the index, and faeries.
What do you think of this one readers?  I have to say I'm really loving it!  Please make sure you stop by Lindsey's blog and check out all the other entries!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Sistah's are doin' it!

Hi Readers! OMG today I have the most epic water marble in the world! Possibly the entire universe!!  A few of my polish friends and I decided we would do a group water marble.  Some of us (like ding dang Jodi) are super good at water marble.  Some of us have never tried it before (like Julia, who now I'm hacked off at because I NEED Rodeo Fanatic) and some of us have done it but really knocked it out of the ball park this time (like Sarah). Mine was actually a fail that turned out great!  I attempted to do the swirl pattern but my polishes didn't want to swirl into a whirlpool--but the design still looked cool so I didn't look a gift horse in the mouth I just dunked away!
I had a really hard time taking pics of this mani!  In the light of the kitchen you couldn't really see orange, red and yellow.  I had to go into the living room with just a light on in the back to take pics lol!  I put together this super cool collage showcasing this cool mani
As always my thumb turned out the best lol!

Check out all these other way cool designs by all my nails polish sistah's!
