Like A Bridge Over Troubled Water

Hi Readers!  I'm slowly trying to find my way back to a "normal" life.  Truth is your life is never the same after someone you love so much dies.  Unfortunately I've gone through this a few times in my life.  I'd like to share with you a story about my bestie Sandi, aka Sandilicious.  I met her via Chins-n-Hedges a fantastic chinchilla and hedge hog forum.  But we didn't have a good way to actually meet face to face for the first time.  I met her at my sister's funeral.  She drove all the way up from Chicago to see me and pay her respects.  I couldn't believe it when this beautiful woman with the best smelling hair hugged me.  I expected her to say she had worked with my sister as the many people who were there for Lisa's funeral said just that.  But instead as we hugged she said in my ear, "Laurie, I'm Sandi"  That was three years ago and we've been bestie's ever since.  I truly, TRULY believe it was my beautiful sister, Lisa, who sent her to me.

Sandi went along with me on the bumpy ride that was my father's CLL diagnosis, his renal failure, his getting better, and his surprising death from an acute sudural hematoma.  I knew she would be there for me at his funeral and she was, looking as lovely as ever and her hair smelling just as wonderful as I always remembered from Lisa's funeral.  She cried for me every time I called to tell her what was going on with my dad.  She hugged me tight and told me she loved me at his funeral.  And even though we have a food therapy involving The Cheesecake Factory planned in our new future, on the second worst day of my life she pulled a box out of her purse and handed it to me.  No one knows how to help you find some joy in your sorrow filled heart like a bestie.

For a duochrome lover this IS the Holy Grail of Nail Polish!
It's the most gorgeous polish on the planet AND SANDI THINKS IT LOOKS LIKE MOLD! Can you believe it Readers?  I love her with all my heart but she is cray-cray!

Here are a bazillion pics of it I took today at work
I wore my cage ring with it and it looked magnificent!

Words aren't even necessary for the glory of this beauty!

I went outside on break to check this baby in the sunlight!
Holy freaking sparkle batman!

Back inside during lunch! I couldn't even eat I was so busy staring at my nails and taking pics of them lol!

And the glory ring again!!!!

I was thinking Simon and Garfunkel need to add a line to their fab song Like A Bridge Over Troubled Water--"when you need a friend *she'll bring you Chanel Peridot* I'm sailing right behind, like a bridge over troubled waters I will ease your mind"

A great friend is someone who knows you inside and out and tries to bring a little bit of sunshine on the days it rains hardest in order to leave you with a rainbow.

I love Péridot. I had been eyeing it for the longest time and then I saw "I just spotted a lizard" by OPI which they say is the perfect dupe. I was going to buy it but then my fiancé surprised me and bought Péridot. I love it SO SO SO much :) Its amazing :)

    hugs

  6. You almost had me crying, you are so lucky to have found each other, cherish your friendship, you'll be okay xx

As for the polish, I have two dupes of this and I'm so over it, I don't get it. At all. Probably because it doesn't suit me at all, but mostly because I prefer to look at it in the bottle! I love your cage ring x

    1. I love looking at in the bottle too lol! I actually have it sitting out at my desk at work so I can look at in the bottle. That's one of my favorite things to do with duochromes!
